That's exactly why people have a higher probability of hitting a dollar twice. There are a lot of people who spin the wheel almost exactly once or twice around. The first girl was luckier hitting the dollar, because she didn't spin it around exactly once or twice.
Just once I'd like Drew to ask someone if they want to say hello to someone and they say " No, not really, My family are all dead and I don't have any friends."
There was one instance during the Barker era where two contestants had, what Bob called, the "Bonus Spinoff". It ended with BOTH contestants winning $10,000 each, then having a second spinoff to determine the winner.
And then we had the events of 9/22/17. ALL 3 players got the dollar for $10K (Because of Drew's 10th anniversary) AND THEN 2 OF THEM GOT THE DOLLAR AGAIN FOR $25K! The 3rd one BARELY missed the nickel for another $10K. $80K was given away in that one showdown, which surpassed the normal maximum of $78,000.
That poor blonde, she must be like, REALLY?!?!? Spin a $1.00, then on the next spin $.95, and STILL LOSE?!?!?!?! Thats when you know you are just not meant to be in the final showcase....
No, in the spin off round I was referring to, the one woman spun a $.05, and then the other women also spun a $.05, so that had to have another spin-off. In that one, the first women beat the second.
The DiPirro angle of showing the two combatants with the wheel in the centre fit together. The emotions of a bonus spin with everything on the line are epic. This just cut the cake.
Ashli Caldwell it happened on a special show when they were giving away $10,000/$25,000 instead of $1000/$10,000 too. They ended up giving away $80,000 during that spin of the wheel.
that last women was super smart. She made sure Drew reset the wheel first because she hit the dollar from that spot before and spinning with the same strength she could do it again.
I'm almost certain as to why Kimberly waited for Drew to reset the wheel for her "bonus spin." She had the wheel's number after the first time she spun the dollar and wanted to hit the 25k!
One thing I always wondered, even as a kid: why was the wheel only "reset" after hitting $1.00? Why wasn't it reset each time? Of course, an obvious reason being saving time, but all the standard spins weren't really fair spins, because the next contestant spins from where the other left off. They have the rule in place that it has to make a complete rotation, but still, it's not a fair shot at $1.00 if only the first person starts at $1.00, then the others start wherever the wheel last stopped.
+wudaddy Because during the regular play you get two spins. You can choose to stick with the first spin or risk going over. With the bonus spin you only get one, so it has to be set up to allow a bonus win on a single complete revolution (whether it is by chance or if the contestant has obtained a 'feel' for the spin and attempts to win by strategy).
Ah, I was expecting this to be a triple but its a double. Still pretty rare, though. I've seen all three contestants get 100's (in any combination of spins) just once, sometime around like 1993. All three contestants walked away with $1000. In that episode Bob mentioned it had happened like 5 times in the past.
The most memorable moment I have of watching this show when I was a kid were these two old ladies spinning the wheel. I think they both hit the dollar twice each. 4 dollars in a row. I dont remember them getting more than 1000$ each time for it though
This is the first $25K SCSD win in 2011. Drew said this is one of the biggest bonus wheel win ever. Not only she win it but also beat 95 in the spinoff.
I could see them upping the $1000 to $5000, but not over that, and probably more realistically, $2,500 with the second dollar being 10x that at $25,000. The 500 is a little awkward, but I think less awkward than $2,000.
odds are roughly 1/400 of getting the 25K with 6 contestants you have 6/400 or 3/200 or 1.5%. It is impossible to calculate exact odds because you can get two spins to get to $1.00 but not everyone takes both spins.
yes. seems nice too. I was in the hospital after bad wreck for 2 months and there were a few mean bitchy nurses who were preppy snotty and hateful. the nice nurses are angels and there should be more
i could be missing the rules here but the 2nd players 1st spin was from the stopping point of the 1st player should the wheel have not been reset at the 5 position for her 1st spin as was done on the last time the 3rd player requested the wheel get properly positioned ?
This isn't the rarest showdown. Yesterday I watched another Price Is Right TH-cam video where all three contestants each spun a total of $1. (I'm not sure about the date of the show featured in that other video. So, it's possible that at the time the one shown in this video occurred, it was indeed the rarest showdown.)
I saw the title and thought this was going to be rare (like all 3 getting $1.00), but I remember seeing this happen a few times when I was a kid, when Bob was the host.
Isn't a two-way tie at 1.00 relatively common? I know a 3-way tie at 1.00 is much more rare, let alone two or more contestants winning $11,000/$25,000 in the same showdown.
So let me get this straight: on the spin-off, if Kimberly lands on green $0.05 or $0.15, she gets an extra $10K, but Bailey still goes to the showcase with her $0.95, right? Which is a better prize?
I actually watched and recorded this same event live. Two people got the dollar and then one of the two got the dollar a second time. This is not the only time this happened, it happened at least twice.
She asked for the wheel to be reset so she could use her muscle memory from the first spin to do the same thing second spin. 2 full rotations of the wheel
Here's a legitimate question though, why is it reset to the .05 mark? I even slightly remember, the wheel being reset to the .15 mark at one time. Any explanation?
It is only reset when on the bonus round as far as I know. Considering the rotation of the wheel if you set it at the .15 cent mark then you wouldn't be able to hit the .05 cent or $1.00 mark legally as you have to make a full rotation in order for it to count.
mkleck I always thought it was because it's harder to hit the bonus spots if you start on the bonus spots. I never liked that rule. To me it would seem to work against the contestant.
Has there EVER been a moment where all three contestants get the dollar outright, then got a second dollar on The Big Wheel? I would love to see a moment like THAT happen on this show.
Pax Humana YES, I watched it on some kind of school's cancelled day in the 90's. All three got a dollar. Second time someone got a dollar again. I'm kinda fuzzy on the details, maybe I'm confusing it with ONE person getting a dollar 3 times but probably not. It happened though.
Pax Humana Ya know, it was the mid 90's, so my memory is fuzzy. I remember the three getting a dollar, but I feel like it got crazier than what I said.
Jay Dingman, no, what I'm saying is that all three people got a dollar, then all three people got a dollar again, and THAT is what I am asking if it ever happened on The Price is Right or not, sir.
Never all three winning bonus money, there was one time in 1993 where all three contestants spun a dollar... On two occasions in season 27 (1998-99), that two contestants won $11,000 in the same Showcase Showdown... the video for one of them is on TH-cam, just look up the Price Is Right (10/06/98)
@@shanejones8884 The closest I've seen would be here, which actually happened to be a special episode with jacked-up bonuses to begin with: th-cam.com/video/hp1a0BHmyc0/w-d-xo.html
I think it's funny how a contestant had to remind Drew what the rules are about spinning the wheel, and then she wins!
That's exactly why people have a higher probability of hitting a dollar twice. There are a lot of people who spin the wheel almost exactly once or twice around. The first girl was luckier hitting the dollar, because she didn't spin it around exactly once or twice.
People love it when they get a dollar
Hey, just wondering if she still wins?
Yep, I know all the rules. Long time viewer!
Just once I'd like Drew to ask someone if they want to say hello to someone and they say " No, not really, My family
are all dead and I don't have any friends."
If I'd be on that show, I'd be the one to say it lol. That should be changing soon though.....hopefully.
That's awful
TPIR is the only show to put a big smile on my face seeing people win, in clips like this. Cheers
There was one instance during the Barker era where two contestants had, what Bob called, the "Bonus Spinoff". It ended with BOTH contestants winning $10,000 each, then having a second spinoff to determine the winner.

I remember they both got, like, 50 or 60 cents, then both got 15, then both got one other, and on the 4th spin, some guy named Vito finally won.
I saw that one. All three won 1,000 didn’t they?
I saw that one. All three won 1,000 didn’t they?
That poor blonde, she must be like, REALLY?!?!? Spin a $1.00, then on the next spin $.95, and STILL LOSE?!?!?!?!
Thats when you know you are just not meant to be in the final showcase....
+Adam Jenyk SR She got on stage and then won 1k bucks... not bad.
+Adam Jenyk SR Once on a spin-off a woman spun $.05, the lowest you can get, and she still won.
+Robert Dubs How is that possible, did the other player spin an 80 and have a quarter fall out of her pocket?
No, in the spin off round I was referring to, the one woman spun a $.05, and then the other women also spun a $.05, so that had to have another spin-off. In that one, the first women beat the second.
Robert Dubs alright so she technically tied on 5 cents then won on the next spin off. That's pretty messed up,
The DiPirro angle of showing the two combatants with the wheel in the centre fit together. The emotions of a bonus spin with everything on the line are epic. This just cut the cake.
The best thing about the Price is Right is you see every kinda of people out there. And always good times
rarest of the rare would be 3 way tie
that's what I thought, I mean what happened was rare but rarest of the rare it most certainly was not
That happened in 2017! All hit the dollar. Then 2 hit the dollar then 75 cents went to show case!
3 way tie 10 cents each
Ashli Caldwell it happened on a special show when they were giving away $10,000/$25,000 instead of $1000/$10,000 too. They ended up giving away $80,000 during that spin of the wheel.
Nah I didnt see rare
2:55 "I am tuna"?
I didn't understand it, but when I read this I laughed way too hard at it! xD
Hahahahaha
Subliminal messages.
But remember, you can tune a piano, but you can't tuna fish :-)
I thought I was loosing my mind. I'm glad someone else could hear that lol
What the hell was that sound at 2:55. Scared the shit out of me.
mister3ds1 I was searching the comments to make sure I'm not crazy hahaha
Right!! Subliminal messages but this one was straight up. What it say?!
It does sound like part of another recording got spliced with this one. I hear "until now".
+mister3ds1 ENTUNA
I heard "end tuna"
Bailey hits .95 on second spin, thinks "Nailed it!"
Kimberley tells drew "hold my beer!"...
that last women was super smart. She made sure Drew reset the wheel first because she hit the dollar from that spot before and spinning with the same strength she could do it again.
Wow... usually 95 on a spinoff and you're sittin golden. lol
I'm almost certain as to why Kimberly waited for Drew to reset the wheel for her "bonus spin." She had the wheel's number after the first time she spun the dollar and wanted to hit the 25k!
Holy Shit! She just won $54.98 after taxes!
Debbie downer. bet you're fun at parties
free steak dinner ill take it
Not true. They have the option to get paid $1/mo for 100 months which gets them the full $100
@aDg 2k18 Applied to an existing family/personal income the take-home is more like $13k after tax deductions.
@aDg 2k18 I never said it wasn't.
2:55 What was that deep voice interfering with Drew Carey? 😳
into an act????? Is what I heard
Glitch in the matrix
"Until now"
Thank you lol
2:14 A DOLLAR!
someone working on the wheel is getting fired lol

So Carey can't figure out to reset it by himself?
One thing I always wondered, even as a kid: why was the wheel only "reset" after hitting $1.00? Why wasn't it reset each time? Of course, an obvious reason being saving time, but all the standard spins weren't really fair spins, because the next contestant spins from where the other left off. +wudaddy it suppose to be on the 5 for the bonus spin
+wudaddy Life's not fair.
I've always thought that exact same thing. It isn't exactly fair to the others.
The wheel is set to 5 cents for bonus spins so that it can't land on a winning space without making an entire revolution.
Anyone else hear the clangs and whoops accidentally start on the second dollar?
This was awesome.
The look on the blonde's face was priceless!!
Rarest of Rare Showdowns???? You for real? And I thought this was going to be something spectacular.
The most memorable moment I have of watching this show when I was a kid were these two old ladies spinning the wheel. I think they both hit the dollar twice each. 4 dollars in a row. I dont remember them getting more than 1000$ each time for it though
could you imagine if she won both showcases...now that would have been a great day
Nice mound Baily.
The look on that blonde's face at 3:47 when she realized that her .95 spin wasn't good enough LOL
I saw one episode where all 3 contests spun 100 2 times until someone finally made into the Showcase
As rare as that ever happens on the show, they should make it one million. They do it on the prime time special TPiRs, but nobody ever gets it.
Only one description that fits this show down:
This video was made the day i was born.
Blondie went from happiness to misery in under a second)
😋😋
I did not think it fair that the two women should not have the wheel put back from the starting point.
Tears of joy.
Wasn't there one where there was a $1.00 tie and they both spun a $1.00 on their bonus spin? I thought I remembered that happening once.
Why do I love this show so much?
This is the first $25K SCSD win in 2011. Drew said this is one of the biggest bonus wheel win ever. Not only she win it but also beat 95 in the spinoff.
Didn't a similar scenario happen during the Barker Era where 1.00 beat 0.95 in Bonus Spin?
I saw all three contestants spin the same number once. Now that is more rare than this.
Love the blonde lady's victory dance!
ty for the play by play,we couldn't figure that out without it .... lol
Drew: Wanna say HI to anybody?
Me: Nope. I don't know anybody, & I like fewer than that.
2:55 "whatever happens" Going to a nap? or what did you put there Wayoshim?
Nice😃 now you can use that money to stock up on food and water.
I don't know another game show that makes me cry every episode. I'm so happy for these people, it's ridiculous.
Kay Jay you're ridiculous
lmfao
That's worth $45,000,000 in today's money.
I was expecting an impromptu dance competition.
They should up that 1$--> 1000$ it's been like that since the show started back in 1975....
Kaynos but now it should be the dollar sign is 1st
Yeah. Instead of $1000 when they spin a dollar, it should be $20,000. Then if they spin a dollar in the bonus spin, $100,000.
sue.
I could see them upping the $1000 to $5000, but not over that, and probably more realistically, $2,500 with the second dollar being 10x that at $25,000. The 500 is a little awkward, but I think less awkward than $2,000.
@@fantasymonsters Maybe $5,000, and then $10K and $25K for the bonus spin.
Popular Showcase Showdown.
wasn't ole bob barker involved in a showdown about hanky panky with floor presentation "models" to the net work or something?
Well, Bob did coin the phrase “Come on down”
odds are roughly 1/400 of getting the 25K with 6 contestants you have 6/400 or 3/200 or 1.5%. It is impossible to calculate exact odds because you can get two spins to get to $1.00 but not everyone takes both spins.
The blood girl became scary for a moment, like from a horror movie
That's great......really great....Drew's thinking, geez, she's making what I make every episode.
WHat would have happened if the very last spin stopped on 5? She wins money, but loses her spot in the showcase ?
yep
yes
snark loaf That happened once when Bob Barker was the host. Someone got .05, won the money, but lost the showdown.

I never seen anyone get so crazy over 1000 dollars that their hair ends up looking like a Zombie lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Amazingly the lady with the dark hair walks away with not only hitting the one dollar once but twice, walking away with a total of 35,000 smackaroonies
has it ever happened where the first 2 people to spin go over and the last person wins by default?
Yes, they are still allowed one spin to try to get the 1.00 and have a chance for the bonus spin.
News flash: Barker got disinterested too. He was just better at hiding it. Don't be fooled.
She asked for the wheel to be reset so she could use her muscle memory from the first spin to do the same thing second spin. 2 full rotations of the wheel
For the bonus spin it’s supposed to be reset for each person.
Yeah. so she could throw it basically as hard.
Congratulations♡
Bailey would be rocking the disco with that Elaine type dance
I wonder what the game rules are if they both had spun $1.00? Would they both bid on the final showcase?
No, they would do another spin-off, until they have a winner.
