This is an exciting 4 minute compilation of Supermarine Spitfire Flypasts from the last 14 years of the Flying Legends Airshow at Duxford in the UK. Featuring many different "Marks" of Spitfire we think this is one of the best compilation videos we've ever made!

It's the doppler effect that really gives the sound a good umph! What a noise. It's great being there when the come to airshows.

Just 37 years after the Wright Brothers this plane helped save a nation and in the process saved Western Europe too. The sound of freedom. My dad flew in Lancasters and he said that the noise of the Spitfire was perfection. It will remain so forever

My late grandad was an airframe fitter on Spitfires ( amongst others) in WW2 ,he used to tell me when he'd done his job the pilot would tell him to grab a parachute and take him up . I think that's where I get my love of planes from, however I don't like flying ! I prefer to watch from terra firma :)

Why why why do these planes have such a profound effect on me, to my core. I was born in 73. Yet these planes look feminine yet masculine and spiteful all at the same time.. they beautiful to me…… then there is THAT NOISE.!!!!! Aaaaaagh..
