The greatest music in my mind evoke the ancient / primal / beautiful all at the same time. The Balfa's do just that. One of the most consistently great groups of all time.
Great song. I love the lamentful sound of the violin. Roughly Translated: When I left the house I had made up my mind To get you back, dear Or die trying. When I got to your house I found you with another. that broke my heart. I would rather die than see that. If I had five days in my life Id give three of the five To stay the other two with you I would like to die in your arms
@ 1:37, I saw an absolutely Beautiful Cypress tree on Louisiana HWY 51 that I recognized. I hope people can verify my suspicions............If this is the photo of that Beautiful Tree, then that Tree has grown to be a much better specimen than in this video. AWESOME, YAHWEH!!!! That tree is an ICON of Louisiana!!!!
Keep in mind that Louisiana has many ICONIC trees that are a part of Louisiana history, such as the Live Oak, and the Sugar Berry, not to mention the Cypress. Many were sacrificed in order to usher the rice industry and the Crawfish Industry!!!!
A recent explanation I got from a family member was that the pronunciation of Balfa is sounded with the long "O" sound. His school teachers spelled it as they heard it so he believed it as being the correct spelling...
yeah song Balfa Brothers. Song pure tradition, never forget your ancestors, is the heart of Louisiana. Long life, Cajun, Amerandian, Creole, European. Vive the Peoplegumbo de Louisiane.
When I left the house I had made up my mind I left to go find you, dear, Or to end my own life. (or die trying) When I got to your house I found you with another That broke my heart I would rather die than see that If I had five days in my life I’d give three of the five To stay the other two with you I'd like to die in your arms.
the officials and english speakers read balfour and pronounced it balfa, for sure.like the name theuroaux became turox, pronouncing the x at the end, like nascar commentators do.or something like that

Sometimes you don't have to listen to the lyrics, haha sometimes you can hear it in his tone. Thats why I love music so much, its a universal language.
My dad Will Balfa sings this song . So good to hear his voice . I am his only daughter. I am 80 years old
Jane Cormier I would love to meet you sometimes
you are 80 years young, Jane, and your Da's music is amazing. Yes, it is so good to hear his voice.
They were wonderful musicians.
Why did he use the name 'Bolfa' and not 'Balfa'?
Jane Cormier
That’s amazing. I live in Crowley and his voice brings back such wonderful memories as a child. I love your father’s voice.
One of my favorite songs from back home! St. Laundry Parish!!
It is pronounced 'LAHNDRY', If you are from the Kuntray,............lol

La amour Cajon UNE BRITTANY
AHOUU !
If you listen to the lyrics it sounds sorta like he's in love or something
Sometimes you don't have to listen to the lyrics, haha sometimes you can hear it in his tone. Thats why I love music so much, its a universal language.
He's hurt over seeing his woman with another.
This is blues...

Volume is so poor.
All that stagnant water the place has to stink, I don't see how any one can live in those swamps.
Ils on brule a la maisons, tue les familles et nous on laisses mourir dans la marsh.
Qu'avons nous jamais fait pour meriter?
Its not that bad man, plently of good fishing
Ben si, mon lapin: celtique tout simplement...
