    I just got fitted for the PXG 0211 9 degree. This this is a rocket launcher and I can keep it in play no problem. Just my opinion but after hitting 30-40 drives before hitting the Titleist, how much of her results were a function of warming up and ‘practicing’. Would the results be the same if she hit the PGX last? I think her dispersions would be much tighter towards the end regardless of the club.

    How was Cobra not in the mix? It is so confusing why many comparisons leave them out when they are one of the best out there, if not the best. I finally gave in and stopped being a brand snob and tried the Cobra Speedzone Xtreme driver with a Hand Crafted Project X HZRDUS Yellow 6.0 shaft, and it was mind-blowing how good and consistent it was for me. The sound is amazing too. So much better than the last two drivers that I purchased because I wanted to stay with the bigger brands, Ping and Taylormade.

    Having had ping, Ts, sim drivers but never found one I could rely on enough I recently tested and plumped fir the pxg proto x+ but interestingly went 12.5 degrees set at 11.5, with a great riptide cab shaft - finally getting the consistency and reliability I was looking for bAlso shaft length 44.5’. On;y club which did better distance wise but not dispersion wise as my trusty m2 though length of shaft was the reason for the last of tightness as the shaft was 45.75. Lots of lessons here re shaft, shaft length, degrees and tendencies. For me setting it 1 degree down is better as it opens the face slightly which is better fir me to hold off a tendency to pull.

    if i am looking to ultimately replace my clubs over the course of the next year or so, I was wondering if you all had any recommendations on what order I should go about getting fit for new clubs: (1) driver, (2) woods/hybrids, (3) irons, (4) wedges, (5) putter - all clubs are equally old

    • @lindsaynewell6319
      @lindsaynewell6319 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m doing a full bag upgrade this year after 10+ years of rarely playing. I took a driver lesson, worked on the new swing for 6 weeks, then got driver fitted. Putter fitting was next (biggest bang for $ since it’s the most used club). I’ll do irons in the fall, then wedges and finish with woods/hybrids. Do irons before woods/hybrids and wedges so you know what gaps you need to fill. I’ve tried some 7 irons already and will go back at least once more before I actually get fitted so I have a short list of 3-4 sets for the fitting. I’ll do the same with woods and hybrids. I also did two pre-fitting tests with putters since there are so many choices but still tried 6 different models at the fitting.

    • @MichaelM-to4sg
      @MichaelM-to4sg 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FBTRodz7 I’ve spent a lot of time ‘tuning’ my putter during last Fall and this Spring. I had a putter head I felt comfortable w/look and it rolled well, I just wasn’t good outside 8’. I changed grips, shaft, lie angle and head weight. Biggest improvement for me was installing a lightweight composite shaft and playing w/lead tape. The much greater swing weight made longer lag putts less effort. Feeling where head is in stroke improved my consistency. It took several practice sessions to feel comfortable on shorter putts, particularly fast downhill putts. The other big improvement was a more upright lie that put my stance a bit closer to ball.
      These may or may not improve your putting, they were big helps to me; 33.4 putts/round to 31.2. The key takeaway is a new putter is often less the answer than tuning whatcha got.

    • @lindsaynewell6319
      @lindsaynewell6319 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FBTRodz7 My fit wasn't full high-tech with high speed video analysis of strike and loft (e.g. TXG putter fitting), but the laser alignment was a huge help. I have a very dominant left eye and even with corrective lenses, I was lined up 2 balls right of the hole on 10 foot putts. Just having an experienced fitter confirm or correct my assumptions about my stroke also helped. I feel like I got the best putter for me in terms of style, weight, shaft length, grip size, alignment aids etc. vs just doing it on my own. The $40 fitting cost was comped against the $250 purchase and the fitter spent an hour with me (PGA superstore Tour Van fitting).

Especially in case of TSi1, which is roughly 20g lower head mass than most heads. Finding the ideal shaft for such a light head, both shaft mass, counterweighting and flex characteristics becomes more critical. The other 4 heads are 290-300g, the Ping 425 Max LS is close to 310g. The TSi1 is 272g. Using same shaft, while understandable is a head-head comparison, is losing some of the benefits made possible by a low mass head.

      @@Foregrlz The weights I stated are for built clubs, not just heads. Callaway states the Epic Max head is 207g. Not as heavy as Ping G425Max but still quite massive, especially compared to TSi1. Callaway recently announced a new driver design, the Epic Star Max, aimed at same ‘senior’ market as TSi1, its head is 52g lighter than Epic Max!!
      While I understand targeting the senior market with premium products, these new superlight heads will be interesting how they workout. If used by fast swingers looking for increased swing speed, will that result in fatigue failures and will oe warrant those failures? Is this reduced mass also reducing moi of head thus resulting in less forgiving on mishits? How much will the reduced swing mass increase swing speed and will that be sufficient to overcome loss in force due to reduction in head mass.
      In summation, I think this affluent senior golfer market is in its infancy and some growing pains are on horizon. For example, a low mass heads makes sense from an effort/strength/flexibility standpoint but the reduced force at impact may be too detrimental to be overcome by slight increase in head velocity. Why not offer these heads in non-COR compliant face? I’d also like to see lower compression ‘hotter’ ball for slower swing speed seniors.
