(Picking 64) Second hand Garneru bike lock (decoded)

- I decode this bike lock, not using the "wiggle" method, nor the "click" method, but a 3rd method called the "indirect" method (maybe it should be called the "friendly neighbor" method as each neighboring wheel gives the answer).

Wiggle method worked on a 2nd hand OnGuard user settable 4 wheel cable lock in about 30 seconds! Wow! Key lock if you want to keep your bike, that's for sure. Thanks for the tips!

Yes this method is quite handy sometimes. I find it pretty exhausting to constantly pull the two halfs apart. Well done, you might have developed some special bike lock pulling muscles ;-)

Just started into decoding 4 wheel locks and you must have serious hand muscles. I had to stop 20 mins in lol.

I can't understand how you talk, are you looking for the following number to be tight or lose?
Tight! ... if the 1st wheel is on the correct number, the next wheel should be tight to turn while under tension. If the 1st wheel isn't on the correct number, the next wheel wont tighten up (or not as much) while under tension. Once you're figured out the 1st wheel, do the same thing on the 2nd wheel (ie trying numbers on the 2nd wheel to see if it tightens up turning the 3rd wheel while under tension) and keep do that for all the wheels.

...just don't lock it up with one of these locks!

I don't so on this lock, but it does on some of them (not many though). This "Indirect method" works on a bunch of them. :D

Can you help me mine isn't working
If you don't get the first binding wheel on the correct number then the rest of the wheels wont work at all ... so you have to get the first wheel right. The first wheel should be the one that's hardest to turn when tension is applied. After you have determined which is the binding wheel (usually one of the wheels at the end) then try every number on it, turning the wheel next to it under tension ... one of the numbers on the first wheel will make the 2nd wheel harder to turn, and if so, leave the first wheel on that number as it will be the right number for the first wheel. If you're unsure, go through the numbers several times, as it's really important to get the first wheel correct. Then after getting the first wheel correct, do the same on the 2nd wheel, trying every number and turning the 3rd wheel under tension to see which one tightens up a bit. I found a lock similar n same locks I try yr method bcus it too tight... Still can't found d number from right.. is d any other method how to open d combo locks.. i also start from 4 digit 0000
You could wear gloves if the wheels are hard to turn, or you could test instead of the next wheel to the left, test two wheels away (to see if it's tighter to turn under tension, when you pull both ends as if you're trying to open it) ... or even 3 wheels away like in this video: th-cam.com/video/kdq-Bd3ve8Y/w-d-xo.html

I don’t get it
It's important to apply tension the whole time (by pulling both sides of the lock, as if you're trying to open it). The correct number will make the wheel next to it more difficult to turn (it makes it "bind"). Have a look at this video where I (mostly) use the same technique: th-cam.com/video/LG54jTZmMVg/w-d-xo.html
There is a binding order for the wheels. Getting the first binder in its gate causes the next wheel to bind tighter. This way you can extract information about the gates.
