Nice load out, makes me think my pack is too big! A week and a half left, it’s getting real for me too now. You should do a video on the clothes you plan on wearing, and your tent or hammock for the first night.
Hey man! It's looking like it will be a lot warmer than normal for this time of year. I'll check the weather the day before to see for sure. I'm just going to sleep under a tarp with my wool blanket both nights. See you there buddy!
You look well prepared brother! I wanted to add just a couple of very small tips. 1) You can save yourself a tad bit of weight and bulk if you want to, the spool you have is the 1 pound roll of bankline but you will only need a fraction of that with the small 100 ft roll. It isn't a big deal, just noticed it. 2) If you can, fold your blanket in such a way that it is closer to the width of your pack. It will be less likely to snag on briars and all the snags the school has to offer :) If possible, put it in some type of dry bag or carry a poncho that can cover you while wearing your pack. Keeping that blanket dry is essential. 3) It can be a great comfort if you have some ibuprofen or Tylenol in your kit just in case. It isn't listed specifically but you may be glad to have it after a long day of hiking with gear. GOOD LUCK BROTHER! kick some "pooter" out there and I look forward to seeing you show that patch! PS, I got a msg from Shawn yesterday that the class is down a couple so they have it covered so I won't be making the trip this time. I hope to meet you at the next one though! Take care.
Hey Matt thank you so much for the tips. I will make those changes immediately! Sucks you won't be there but I'm thinking about taking the intermediate class in a few weeks .. maybe I'll see you then. Thanks again!
