@@CountryCampers thanks buddy I'll check it out
I luv the backpack!
The complete back packer. You covered all the bases. I would love to do this in cold weather like I use to but at 63 the body doesn't like it any more. Into long river trips on my pontoon with my grandson during the summer. I can just enjoy it through your eyes. Thanks
Thanks! Only thing I like more than being in the woods is being on the water!
Great video. Time for the cabin.
Good cover. West coast of Canada here...we don't get a lot of snow...RAIN is king. So I appreciated the 6mm bags...I carry a few in my hard weather gear bag along with water, whiskey and an MRE. Cheers!
Nice pack. Thanks for the post. Cheers from South Carolina
Thanks for watching 👍
Great video!
Nice new Gear as well !
Appreciate the support Kris
Great video. The only thing I carry more of is a more complete first aid kit. I sliced a finger and used pine sap to close it. Ever since the I have a first aid kit. Keep up the good work!!
Thanks Mike
Never hurts to keep a little crazy glue on you
There is one thing I learned years ago to never be without. A multitool/ multiplier. learned this in the corps years go and still I carry one to this day. weather in the bush or at home they are a really handy thing to have. think of it as the modern equivalent of MacGyver's swiss army knife. lol very worth having in any kit/loadout.
Some nice new gear to use , keep it going
Thanks Doug
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing what you pack on your overnight camping trips. Have a great week.😊
Thanks Karen you too
Thanks I like all the good info.👍👍✌️
My pleasure thank you for watching
Nice video brother, that pack looks perfect. Thanks for sharing and enjoy the beautiful outdoors.
Love your videos always look forward to anything you put out, Thanks !!
Thanks Renee!
Pooter Stomper your very welcome!!
All pretty good choices!
Thanks brother 👊
thank you
I'll be sending you something next month through the mail. Your a inspiration of mine.
Thank you Buddy! Look forward to it
You have come a long way pillgram. Very good simple and through kit.
Thank you Reed
I never go out without my gun
Great little video. I really like that new back pack. I use mostly old army surplus stuff. We keep all our day gear in an East German army assault pack I got for 18 dollars Canadian. Went tobogganing today for the first time in 30 years lol.
Nice! Can't go wrong with Army surplus that's for sure! Thanks for watching
Nice video, and nice backpack. Maybe I would carry one more tshirt.
Thanks Mario 👍
Another good video love it pooter stomper yay I love the outdoors godbless sending love from Springfield Massachusetts
Thanks for watching!
@@TonyPowers_Dirtbound your welcome pooter stomper love you
Great video!!
Keeping it real.. can't wait for next one . Thank you 😊
Great Job, keep it up
Thanks Mike! will do
Love the old school look. I have a frost river bag myself with an old army wool blanket for the pack and a 1960s hudson bay wool blanket for the jeep. Have you considered taking a shovel instead of the axe? I carry a cold steel spetznaz shovel because it can be sharpened like a hatchet and the wooden handle is replaceable in the field as long as you have a medium width philips head screwdriver. That also gives you the capability of making a long handle for it once you get to an area you'll be staying for a while
My kit has evolved since this video and would definitely use a shovel with a sharp edge over an axe. Multi functional 👊🏻
@@TonyPowers_Dirtbound I swapped over to a cold steel spetsnaz shovel. has a sharpened edge for cutting and chopping, small enough to put on pack, and balanced to be used as an actual throwing weapon
Great video 👍 I like your Everyman style. To many channels are snobby and cater to high end market. Watching them I feel blike I'm being advertised to. You keep it real. Awesome job💪
Appreciate the kind words and support!
I think your due for a cabin vid with the cold weather! Good stuff 👍😃✌️
Nice video! Enjoyed the humility, thank you for passing the knowledge brother!
Saw the name of the Channel and said to myself "I can learn from this man!"
Lol... thanks for watching
Many thanks Pooter for the info. 👍🏻
Liked before I watched because I'm sure I'll like it!
Appreciate the support David
@@TonyPowers_Dirtbound You bet, and I was right, I did like it. Very informative. I liked how you went out in the woods to do your video instead of staying home where it's warmer. Thanks.
Great video brother...🤜🤛
🤘
Good demo on what to carry in your pack, I like the fact that your included a cheaper altenative for some items,
Nice gear I also have a small candle or 2 in my gear. Useful little thing.
I was going to comment the same. A small single candle UCO lantern is good for heat and light.
Great video man! Keep’em coming!
Thanks Josh 👍
GREAT SET UP MAN! 👍
Thanks buddy!
Pooter, good video on the equipment you use on your adventures. A good Military down mummy sleeping bag would be a good choice also on those cold overnighters. Steve over here in Mooresville.
Hey Steve Im actually going to try to find a military style bag like that. My cousin used one in the video he did with me and he looked a lot more cozy than I did. Lol thanks for watching
@@TonyPowers_Dirtbound I got mine( Military surplus mummy bag) new still in the package for $ 80.00 it's a down bag good to -30 . Would be a good fit for you overnighters. Good Luck and keep them coming.
@@SteveC-cs6ec thanks buddy I'll look it up
Good kit my man I like.the John pack
So far I'm a big fan of it. thanks for watching again man
Thank you for another great video :)
Thank you for watching 👍
My kit is really just a dayhike kit, so I don't carry quite a few of the items you do, but a simply Esbit stove and a canteen cup are always a part of what I'm packing, as well as a first-aid kit.
I'll have to check those stoves out. Thanks for watching
Good informative video, its nice to see your able to pick up some new gear, always makes it fun to get out and try the new stuff, till next time stay well my friend :)
Can't wait to out it all to work! Thanks again Gordon
That's a lot of gear but it's nice to have luxuries along.
Love watching your videos. My son thinks yours awesome!
Thanks again for taking time to make us a video on your day off and in 15 degree weather. Simple gear and great point about use a bright color lighter 👍🏼
Anytime brother 💪
Another great video..dang that is cold...In Florida and Louisiana we carry the 11th C of survival. Caliber..carry big enough for what you may run into ..🤣👍
Great video...like that scorpion knife 👍
Another great video with great ideas! Blessings brother!
👍 thanks buddy!
Since purchasing 6mm contractors bags on Amazon I haven’t carried anything else. The only caveat is my cargo pocket sized Mors super shelter kit. In order for it to fold into a cargo sized packet I stick w/ 3 or 4mm. Love your videos bro 👊🏼💥
Much appreciated 👊🏻
Sorry I’m just now seeing this comment
Only missing some whiskey and a fine cigar. But great kit great video thanks.
This is a brilliant kit breakdown, I could watch this all day! Cheers buddy! You’ve earned yourself a subscriber 👍🏼
🙏
Nice load out!!! 6ml liners I gotta look for those!!!
6 mil is hard to find. 3 mil can be found easy and works pretty good. Thanks again for watching
I LOVE your videos....down to earth....and extremely helpful.
My first time on your channel. Very well done.
Great video Pooter! Just good, basic and doable gear for anyone. Just add some first aid items. At least bandaids and gauze and some first aid ointment or a cleanser like peroxide. Everything could fit in a pint size zip lock bag. Especially when you have the little ones with you.
Thanks Carol!
I really liked seeing you doing a load out on the JonPack. I have been drooling over getting one for awhile. If SRO ever gets them in stock again, I think I’m going to pull the trigger. Thanks again for the video.
Thanks brother. You won’t be disappointed
Just earned a sub brotha. Love how you carry genuine bushcraft tools, as do I. Everyone gives me shit for my tennon cutter and auger brace, lol.
Love the pack as well. I'm really on this waxed canvas kick lately. They're half the price of a Frost River as well. If you're not familiar look them up and be ready to invest. They're the holy grail of bushcraft packs. I'm currently carrying a Wetterlings Large Hunter and Boreal saw. For some reason every frame saw I make explodes after a few logs.
You should purchase some Fjallraven Greenland wax, Duck Back (Outback) wax for that Cardheart. Totally worth the time and effort. It will make for a great video as well.
Hey Thomas appreciate the kind words and support! I actually just ordered a couple leather straps from Frost river to attach my bedroll to this pack! And you're right their packs look amazing and I may have to buy one here soon. Thanks for watching
Awesome video man, keep up the good work.
Great video man! Thanks!
Love that pack brother!
Greetings from Northern Ireland, great video fella....subscribed
I enjoyed your video and subscribed I think I need to have way more warmth , I’m not young , I’m looking for lightweight stuff . Around 15 years ago I slept in a tent with no ground cover , I could barely walk the next day , dumb mistake . I want to spend time with my grand children so I’m researching , thank you for sharing .
Nice to see you getting followers now Pooter just keep it simple and keep up the great vlogs your brother from Scotland 🏴
Thanks buddy!
Love the videos, nice set up👍🏼
BTW, I like the color of your ax ahdle!!
thanks! Medium Brown leather dye
Great sir good idea u have given take care.
Much appreciated my friend
Awesome dude
Very cool man thanks for the info.
Thanks for watching!
Wow nice kit! I got really down to earth and kind-hearted vibes from you I'll definitely be subscribing👍👍😊
Awesomeness man love the videos.
Good backpack
Really nice filming and like your set up!
Love that pack! Nice kit man. Really been enjoying your videos. Especially like how you get your boys out there. Haven't been into bushcrafting for long, but geared up and ready to get my boys out there this year. Keep up the good work bro.
Nice kit
Great video 👍🏻
Thanks Tom
Hello super video.. God bless
Another great video... I see your starting to buy yourself a lot better gear... that’s good you deserve it... would love to see a video on your new pks scorpion... thinking about buying one and would like to know how you like it... keep up the great work 💪👊👍
Thanks Tank. I'll definitely be doing a review on the scorpion in my next overnighter. Thanks for watching
Interesting video good info.
Thanks 👍
Liked the video, thanks for the ideas. Just subbed and Hello from Alaska
Call your pack the "Pooter Pack" lol, thanks Pooter :)
Lol I like it!
Cool kit, great video! :-)
Subscribed.
Do you have a video on making knots and kind of ropes to use and things like that?
not yet but i hope to make videos like that soon
@@TonyPowers_Dirtbound that would be so awesome and helpful. I love watching you. Thanks💖
People don't make char cloth in your drinking bottle. Use a small tin, Altoids tin makes plenty of char cloth and you won't have drink out of later. TIP: melt wax into a Altoids tin add a piece of lantern wick to it. You get fire a sustainment item with a wind block that is reusable and stows easily in any pocket. Also use as a hand warmer. I've used this reliably since 1990.
Great video - do you know if this guy still makes those packs? Thank you for your time.
I don’t believe so unfortunately
@@TonyPowers_Dirtbound ok 👍 thank you for replying
Good video . Interior of the pack orange ? I’d probably be divorced if I was that close to Self Reliance 😜 Although there are one or two things I’ve been waiting to go back in inventory since Christmas. Wish we had a few days of your winters every year ( not like the arctic blast that shut us down this year ) Looking forward to some fall and winter videos
It’s not orange but would be nice!
Just found your channel, good video and I subscribed 😀 thanks and stay safe
I was wondering why you didn't have your blanket rolled in that tarp or a 6mil trash bag?
Cool...knife is sweet...
Very sweet!
I've subbed to you brother! I see alot of Canterbury in you! Keep it up my friend! Cheers from Northern Michigan!
Thanks Michael. From your neighbor right below you
@@TonyPowers_Dirtbound thanks for the reply brother!
How much will be that in kg ?
Just asking to make a point, I will look for the conversion after
Where about in Indiana ya from? Stores about 2 1/2 hours from me. New to the channel as well. Watched your most recent over night and enjoyed it!
Terre Haute area
Cabin time
Nice vid Pooter. I also make many trips to Self Reliance. I use a lot of their gear. Where are you located? I’m an hour east of Indy. Maybe someday we should hook up, even for just a day hike and chat! Later.
I’m about an hour west of Indy lol
I think a separate video on pack mentality would be a good idea.
Great vid! Pooter do you have a link for the JohPack?
Unfortunately I don’t believe they’re being made anymore
What a great video again!!! Thank you for sharing! It is awesome to see your gear! In Finland every kid has to learn how to use a Suunto compass and do orienteering with a map. So you have winter there! How cool is that!! Enjoyed every minute of your video!! Looking forward to the next one!! Have a great weekend!! Ps: did you receive my card?
Hey Marja! Not yet I'll check the PO box tomorrow. Thanks again
Ok. I ' m a bit worried, because I mailed it before Christmas. Hope you receive it soon!
Shawn Kelley sent my your way. Jan 2023
New to your channel!! Love your set up!! Will be subbing
Thanks 👍
Howdy and Hello Pooter Stomper! Juanita Mae here....you hit on a point that I have expressed about homesteading. It is not how one person is better because they raise pigs or raise chickens and I choose to live off grid and raise my vegetables. I eat meat but don't choose to raise it and fight off predators in my sixties. I figure for me and hubs alone, we don't eat enough eggs to consider the cost of chickens and keep up. We have our trusty dogs and cat but don't have to scrape off the snow path to water them, ha ha . You speak of taking stuff out to bush craft and some may do with less. Who cares? I mean seriously seen homemade shelters and they pull out instant oatmeal. Another picks wild greens and fishes for their meal but has shelters of tarps and such. I learn from everyone of them. I like a boxed cake now and then but will sometimes make a cake from scratch and my family enjoys it either way. I don't have to grow the grain and grind my flour and evaporate salt from the seashore and grow beet sugar and milk the cow and gather the eggs from my hen house to make a great cake, thank God! Anyway, I would show up to watch you complete a puzzle on youtube ha ha be blessed
You can definitely learn from everyone now matter their skill level! Thanks jaunita
One year has passed and you have more dirt time with it. If you did a side by side with your pack today, next to your pack from a year ago, what has changed? Any additions or subtractions? Thanks.
Oh a lot has changed in my kit..I’ll have to make an updated video soon
@@TonyPowers_Dirtbound looking forward to it.
Hey pooter ..hows that jon pack hold in up ...
So far so good! Many miles on it but still going strong
