Hi guys! Long time listener here. I have a request /suggestion for you. Would you consider putting some compression on Andrew's microphone? His voice too often drops in pitch and level when he speaks softly, and becomes inaudible if there's any background noise, such as when driving, or when listening on headphones on public transport. It's very frustrating. I've lost count of the number of times I've been forced to rewind, or to increase volume; only to be deafened moments later when he speaks up. A decent compressor would lift the lower level and flatten and equalise the dynamics. No such issues with Dan's voice. Please consider this small tweak, it would make a world of difference! Many thanks for a terrific podcast!
Bang on guys, I'm driving around in an M140i, but I'm very very interested in the new R5. My other half is getting her licence currently, and we need a small family car, and the R5 might just be that car, because it's something that is interesting and looks fun to me.,
The app is splendid. Just subbed. If I have one observation to improve it is to allow the pictures to pop out to full screen. Btw, the article from Herr Eichhorn on yaw was excellent reading. I’m now working my through my fleet to work out the yaw centre of each!
I’m not sure why Andrew got so offended that another journalist questioned why he bothered to turn up to the R5 launch - as a loyal subscriber to Ti (DriveNation) since the start, the balance of coverage has always been tipped in favour of supercars and unobtanium. It’s hardly What Car? is it…
I ran two Jaguar XE as a company car, and the ride balance and comfort was outstanding, I currently own a 2022 F Type and I think I will be keeping it longterm, my Father owned three XJ in 90s, it’s a sad story of mismanagement. I agree the I Pace was an embarrassing missed opportunity, certainly if they had updated Batteries and included for example the new F Pace interior in say 2021 it would still be competitive, and my Wife has a 2022 F Pace which is brilliant in every respect
I too have been saying Jaguar should've carried on making the iPace as its the only BEV they made as a link to the all new models. Instead they kill it off before the Petrol and Diesel F Pace and E Pace..The mind boggles. I do really hope they do it right and manage to survive. Its certainly very brave to do what they are doing....
I'm becoming increasingly frustrated by our UK roads. Daily I'm dealing with pot holed roads that can bend wheels, changes to A and B road limits in Derbyshire from nsl to 50mph + average speed cameras, absent road workers for 10s of miles on our M roads and erratic, illogical 'smart' motorway signs legally enforcing the limits. Could Ti lend its journalistic forces to some accurate research and reporting on these matters? I'm certain I'm not the only one who is affected by these sub standard and infuriating chokes on our daily lives. The performance cars we're all so passionate about become increasingly irrelevant in light of these matters.
It’s clear from every angle the they don’t want us on the road at all. It will be a class device.. only the rich will be able to drive and the poor will make way for them, not out of choice. We are being brow beaten into public transport.
Renault 5 looks good but for me can't wait for Alpine A290, because we need small hothaches back, is there actually any on sale anymore. Great podcast keep up with great work 👍❤
there is a total travesty in putting/associating the Alpine brand, heritage and core values on bland, heavy, mediocre to drive renaults with a slight power increase.
@10:44 ask 3 people what 'beautiful' means and you'll get 4 answers. Things usually are 'beautiful' in retrospective. When you're searching for something new and fresh, terms like 'beautiful' don't mean much, because it's not helpful to limit yourself to something that has already been done. Sure, most people would agree a 250GTO is beautiful, it has already been done though, time to move on to something new.
Regarding the styling of the W1. To me it looks like a cross between a Senna and a 765LT. Its not different or special enough imo. No doubt it'll drive amazing but its hardly a beautiful design. Its not like they cant do something beautiful. Just look at the Solus!!
Unless you have been in a cave for the past 12 years. Renault beat Honda to a small EV by years. It's called the Zoe and TBF was half decent as a commuter car. It was just expensive for what it was. But like anything, the 1st models of any new tech cost a lot more until it becomes cheaper to mass produce. Look at how expensive the 1st LED/OLED TV's where when they came out and how cheap they are now in comparison??
@@pauln0371 I don't need an idiot like you to teach me anything. The Honda E was dynamically head and shoulders over any EV in its class. That's why I asked for the comparison to the new Renault 5. I have snappy responses to your dumb insults.
Just looked up the W1, it's that bit more ugly than McLaren's other cars. Shame. Looks like its been designed by eight year olds to impress five year olds.

Yes please!
Never seen them engage with the comment section so I wonder if they read them at all.
Very much agree, been a small bug I've had with the pod. The chat is great though fellas!

Great to see JBR back in the market

@@andrewlucas6214unfortunately public transport is even worse. Dirty, slow and irregular at best if it runs at all....

It seems wise to me to stop production and take a breath for Jaguar. But, they must get it right!

How do you know it's going to be mediocre to drive? No one has driven the A290 yet....
Why did McLaren use the Rimac Nevera front end for the W1?
I think you’d benefit from employing a sound engineer. You’ve got some great things to say, I just can’t hear half of it.
Holistic Underwriting 😂. Very good

Awesome work chaps.

add all to it and its the same price as the Alpine 290... it is NOT cheap when you make it reasonable equipped IMO
In comparison to other BEV small cars it is....Andrew gave you examples of the Mini and 500e which are of the same ilk...
You forgot to compare the Renault to Honda's first small EV (I forget what it's called).
Honda E :)

Now do the Ferrari 5cilindri and the electric Renault 12
Lovely
Might be a UK-only problem, but I just thought "Womens Institute" when I saw it... 🙂
The Ferrari 12C.
😀😀😀
iPace best EV in the world when it came out? 🤣
Wow, JBR. Terrible bull crap corporate strategy pitch. Basically, saying we have loads of money to lend to people who don't need it to buy toys.

Zero chance EV jaguars will be successful… 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
If they look right, drive right and have the right tech for the right price, hopefully they should survive🙏🙏
@@pauln0371 i really don’t think they can survive as EV’s … 😢
Jaguar 😆. 🪫
