I appreciate the research and development going into technologies like this, but even at that capacity rating that’s only 10% of my regular monthly electricity bill (1400kW/month, averaging 30kW/day). We still have a long, long way to go before this becomes viable in any consumer capacity.

Hilarious scam! The PV panel are shaded from the windturbine. This is nonsense

      It's optional.

It's really too bad that engineers have not been able to come up with affordable wind turbines for home use that can really exploit the wind to the fullest. Many of us who live in coastal areas with constant winds see the potential, but also understand that NOTHING currently on the market is really viable. The devices either cost so much that they payoff wouldn't come for 50 years, or they generate just enough electricity to power a table lamp. Solar and biogas are clearly the only viable options.

Compared to these, I've played with a vertical turbine this size doesn't produce much. Those solar cells produce much more.

*All practical tests of ground-based small wind turbines show: 1) They hardly produce any electricity! 2) They do not last long!*
9 out of 10 small wind turbines stop working after just a few years due to the extremely gusty winds close to ground.
*On the other hand, olar panels generate at least 10 times more electricity with the same investment!*
Reliable and almost maintenance-free for at least 25 years!

The horizontal axis turbines do much better than vertical, yes they require more maintenance than solar, new bearings every couple of years but in many areas there are days without meaningful sunshine in the winter and so wind reduces the need to fire up a geny.
With an on grid set up there's not much point though and having run a few I would avoid if I could.

This will not produce any significant power.
