Thanks for the review, fellow car enthusiast:-) I am using this mic for my car reviews too. I plugged it to my gopro. Any recommendations for keeping speech and exhaust notes nice and audible but road noise low?
Great video! Thumb & sub. Still got a question. it can’t record the engine sound cause the supercharger is too loud, can you do some level adjustments to get the sound, or the mic just can’t take the sound physically?

Thanks man! A new camera can also go a long way. The wireless mic/receiver set up is more for convenience than anything. Just makes it a little easier to do the car stuff sometimes, especially if/when I start filming with friends.

I have an Osmo Action camera and RODE wireless TX and RX . I need to record car driving sound. Would you please give me some steps how to organize this connections. Thank you

I was thinking of picking this up. But I've been eyeing up an upgrade to my regular microphone. Either the Rode VideoMic NTG or the Diety V-Mic D3 Pro. My Rode Video Micro has been great but I've gone through 5 shock mounts. Those Rycote mounts suck ass. I just want to step up my audio. But since the new Wireless go II also records I think I should get that. Right now I have a lens and light just sitting in my cart on B&H.
Damn! That’s a lot of shock mounts. I didn’t realize those were so fragile. The extra audio is a pretty good feature. On my first day of shooting, my battery died on the zv1. I could have kept recording with my iPhone with the built in audio recording of the rodes if I wasn’t worried about the video color/brightness differences in footage.
Definitely a pretty cool product there Rob. I've always liked Rode's stuff but have no need for it since I sold my A6000. When do you think you'll do a review of the ZV1? I'd like to learn a little more about that.
I’ve been trying to do 2 vids a week but it’s been kinda hit or miss because of time and project car monies. 😩 Was thinking of doing one photo/ video/ gear related video on one day and then a car thing on the other, so probably soon. Especially after knowing that someone has some interest in it. I actually have some of it filmed already from when I first got it.
