I am 20 now. I am pursuing my courier in B. Tech but I came here just to learn how to sell because I want to sell myself in the interview and then I just want to learn and grow.
New to sales myself. Come from IT background and now selling industrial metal fabrication machinery. I find some of what I do very similar to what I did in IT. Using CRM, Customer service and maintain communication with leads, prospects. I'm on the road a few days a week making cold calls but I feel I lack the gift of gab.
It sounds like you understand the new time and are doing what you are supposed to be doing. Keep at it. Becoming good at conversation doesn't happen overnight. Ian, Watching these videos is a great start. Practice and patience are the next steps. Don't beat yourself up because you don't know how to sell well yet. You will get there if you follow my advice and review/reflect on your results. Then, change your approach gradually until you find you've improved quite a bit. A few things you can do: 1. Ask someone higher than you to ask them why they chose not to buy. 2. Go back in a month and ask them to buy again. 3. Make a better offer. 4. Ask them what is wrong with your offer so you can fix it and offer them something that works better for them.

Not knowing to sell is my greatest obstacle!
Ian, Watching these videos is a great start. Practice and patience are the next steps. Don't beat yourself up because you don't know how to sell well yet. You will get there if you follow my advice and review/reflect on your results. Then, change your approach gradually until you find you've improved quite a bit. I'll be debuting my new sales training program in March. I hope you'll consider investing in it then to really give yourself a strong chance of success.

A few things you can do: 1. Ask someone higher than you to ask them why they chose not to buy. 2. Go back in a month and ask them to buy again. 3. Make a better offer. 4. Ask them what is wrong with your offer so you can fix it and offer them something that works better for them.

Look for a job selling something inexpensive and uncomplicated. I first started selling newspapers, bicycle parts, and so forth. These are items that are pretty easy to sell. They are relatively inexpensive and uncomplicated. Start simple and gain experience. Good luck to you!
