I think this Xavier was a body double or a clone or puppet or something, controlled by Xavier himself. And the perceived death of the leader is a ruse, constructed by Charles to 1) Weed out what nations and organizations are actually with Krakoa and which ones are feigning. This is a way to do it by not reading the minds of just everyone and then blabbing it -- which is how classic Charles would do it. and 2) Make the mutants of Krakoa come together. How else do you get people Apocalypse and Storm to make nice? A common goal. Not only that. But IRL: Hickman has stated he doesn't use character death flippantly. And when you're essentially rebooting a series, you don't kill off the linchpin character, the character whose very name is eponymous with the X-men. And unless you intend to resurrect him, which is anathema to your style, the only way this happens is if that wasn't Charles Xavier.

I'm surprised to see Wolfsbane in human form. I always felt in the old comics her human side was always under used. Considering that if you had a choice between looking like a human around the house , or a bear? Wolfsbane in the past kinda is drawn like the bride of Frankenstein merged with a werewolf in her feral form.
This was okay to me, but I still like Marauders best so far drunk Kitty Pride saying “I wanna go aggro on some humans! ICEMAN! GET IN MY BOAT” Storm: “Kitty, does Logan know you’re hitting his stash?” Kitty: “I AM THE STASH!” I love it!
It's fun hearing about the history of Mondo and how little people seemed to care about him. I'm completely fresh to his story and I thought he was great in this. He's kind of the "sad sack" of the group which can do a lot of comedy delivery. If utilized right, he could be the wacky one that doesn't really do a ton to contribute until those rare moments where he's crucial.

The New Mutants are no longer teens, most are in their 20s now. But yeah, one thing that made the original New Mutants fun is them acting like kids/teens. The history between the Starjammers and Shi'ar goes further back than Dark Phoenix, so far back that Scoot & Alex was kids. IT was a Shi'ar ship that attacked their parents plane. Katherine Summers straps Scott into a parachute, shoves Alex in his arms then shoves both of them out of the plane. For the longest time, Scott thought his parents died in a plane crash, but when Corsair appeared later, we learned the Shi'ar kidnapped the parents. Emperor D'Ken (brother to Lilandra & Deathbird) kills Katherine after rapign her and sends Christopher to a prision planet where he meets C'hod, Hebzibah & Raza. I thought that Vulcan wasn't part-Shi'ar, he was the 3rd Summers brother who supposed have died as part of the first team Xavier sent to Krakoa (original island) and then he (Prof X) wipes everyone's mind the existence of Vulcan and that team. Later when Vulcan "returns" (actual introduced) he's a villain and marries Deathbird and becomes new Emperor. Back in the 90s the character that was suggested to be the human/shi'ar hybrid child of Katherine Summers and D'Ken was hinted to be Adam X aka X-Treme.
Cypher and Mondo did not create the portal in the Biome, that was put there by Corsair in X-men #1. It’s from the plant that Scott gave him thats links it to the Moon where the Summer’s family lives. The issue is the plant Cypher brought on board to plant wherever Sam is so they can get home.
The lawyer in the back is Murd Blurdock, partner of Frogurt "Froggy" Frelson, the Echomelian law partners from Al Ewing's Rocket Raccoon miniseries! Its hilarious.
We actually have no concept to how old Magik is. Her nature and her powers throw that into flux. She is also one of the few characters we know that is never shown to age, even with future versions of herself. The original team members should also be older than that. A good way to determine their age is to +3-5 whatever age Jubilee is currently and she has clearly been in her early 20s the last few years of comics. Or just use the benchmark as whatever Kitty's age is, since they are around the same age.
I like this...the comedy was on point...it's like a twisted Saving Private Ryan story. About The 5....Hickman also stated that they could substitute members, if need be, to keep the protocols intact. But no telling how far they can stretch the limits of that theory.

Because of Magik's backstory, she and Kate Pryde (the current Red Queen) are supposed to be the same age, more or less. Anyway, I'm picking up the book. I had to drop its earlier incarnation after the writers de-aged Magik and killed her off. I could never quite get on board with it when Cable was leading the team. Thanks so much for posting the video. I missed these characters so much. :)
I've Always been a fan of Illyana She will be the next hot Character in the Mutant MCU probably following the Current story line. It has much more cosmic potential.

If you read House and Powers they talk about proper resurrection protocols specifically to avoid that.
