I've been using Diawa Goldcast for 30 some yrs .. for all those guys that think its 'not macho' enough , i've caught everything from bluegill, perch, 10lb walleye 15lb Northern Pike and 25lb channel cats with them on 12-15 lb test line .... with casting accuracy and No rats nests you get from open reels ... I'll use em forever ...
@@bunkelops wrong. I think a spincast is way more complex than need be. The concept is good but like any good fishermen you need to service your reels. And thats where the problem is. The suck to service mainly becasue the main gears are not easily accessible. Unlike a spinning or baitcaster where you pull out a few screws and done. Also they are slow the usually have a something like a 3:2:1 ratio which is super slow its half the speed of a standard reel. Also the pins sometimes fail to catch the line making it so it wont retrive until a pin catches line. (Ive also never ever have had anyone out fish me with a spincast.)
We’re Going To Argue It’s not my fault. - BS on the $800. No bank fisherman spends that much on a rod/reel unless they’re a total moron. A good baitcaster setup can be had for around $120. They’ll cast farther, can use any line type without issue, use any lure on the planet and last forever. If you’re nesting a baitcaster then you need to learn how to use it properly.
Omega Z03 is incredible, as good as any baitcaster I've ever fished with! I use it for massive steelhead Trout every spring and fall 4 days a week! Never let's me down. Many 10lb hogs landed!
Thinking of getting 1 for spinning for pike. What's it like reeling in when the line is slack. The Shakespeare I'm using at the moment not too good. After jerking the lure I sometimes have to pull the line to engage it on the pin before being able to reel in. I would really appreciate your feed back and thank you in advance.
TheMcpvideo Amazon has them come up every few months. It always seems like there’s a back order. I want to get a second one. It’s still and awesome reel and still my favorite.

Had a Pflueger President just under a month. Thought it was pretty nice until the thumb button broke?! Sent back and got a Daiwa.
Bought one tonight and got a free warranty for 3 years. If something goes wrong take it back and they will hand me a new one no question asked
