Brings back memories of being a Plane Captain on OV-10s in VMO-8 1973-74 and VMO-2 1974-75. Had a seat card and had that same view for over 250 hrs of back-seat time. Went to OCS, then flight school and when I got my wings in Apr 1978 I requested OV-10s but was the first nugget sent to Harriers. First thing I noticed he has no ejection seat!
I got a flight in one of these out of Aviano AB Italy in 83, took it out over the Adriatic and up over the Dolomites did some aileron rolls and just had a really great sightseeing flight of Northern Italy😎 USAF
When I was stationed in Battle Creek, Mi 40 some years ago I looked forward to NG weekend. The Mi Air Guard had the OV-10s and my son loved going to the airport and watching them. Almost as much as I did.
Awesome vid! I want to ride along! We have one of these at our CDF Air Attack Base at KPRB. I used to see the USMC Broncos on the CAMPEN flint line in the early 1980’s
Great vid. Looks like a lot of fun to fly. I got a bunch of rides in the Broncos at Shaw (23 TAS?) summer before my senior year before commissioning and heading into AF pilot training
I feel like I need to say it. Flying around in a military aircraft that's so old it doesn't have ejection seats without a parachute on, seems like a very bold move! 😅
Holy cow that thing is a rocket ship on the takeoff roll. What kind of fuel burn are you guys seeing on average? Oh, and if you decide you don’t like it I’ll trade ya my RAM power wagon for it. Granted it’s no Bronco! Hope to see it at Oshkosh!

Airborne Forward Air Control is the most respectable of all 'stick' billets.
Did you know Dale Davis? He was my neighbor as a kid. He was a colonel the last time I heard. He had some crazy nam stories.
@@billyjewett5006 No, I did not.
Brings back a lot memories. DaNang AB. ‘70-‘71 used to watch these birds fly missions, everyday i drove past them sitting on the flight line.
As internal security, I was close in on these valuable machines.............. 366th Security Police Sq. Da Nang Jan 1971-72.
In 1971-72 you'd find me working nights in VAL-4 Airframes there at VNAF Binh Thuy. Loved that little aircraft.
One of my all time favorite aircraft. What an amazing view from the front office...beautiful aircraft!!!!!
Couldn't agree more!

Was the plane based out of Sembach, Germany?
@@jcheck6 Not sure about that. I can't remember.
My first flight in a tactical aircraft was in the OV-10. A few years later the pilot was in F-4 training and was my crewed pilot.
Those look like the would be SO MUCH FUN TO FLY.
Amazing engines, amazing panel and overall amazing work! Thanks for sharing!
USMC . yeah . went to school at chanute , afb in illinois. same course for both c-130 and ov-10. was put with hercs vmgr -152 . great times…. okinawa

Lieutenant Colonel jug Gerard was my scoutmaster in the late eighties in MCAS Kaneohe

Thanks for sharing your story. That CDF Bronco would be one of those former Marine aircrafts.
I was TAD to Camp Pendleton and there were some Broncos there. Great AC, pilots loved flying them. Was this shot out of Chino??
Yes, it was. Thanks for your story, I got lots of my own and am blessed to get to work and fly in them today.
@@thisisbroncocountry Yessir! Cheers
Worked with a guy, some years ago, who flew Navy OV-10s in Vietnam, squadron VAL-4. He shared some interesting experiences about his time over there.
One of our other airframes is done up in VAL-4 Black Ponies livery.
Wonderful. It did not even cross the second marker while taking off. Wish I owned one
I had the honor of installing the weapons on the OV-10s both in Vietnam and stateside with the 3rd MAW VMO-10.
Beautiful aircraft. Waiting to see it flying
the drone of the props are making me sleepy. I love that sound!
Like the A-10. Warthog the OV-10 is too efficient and effective at what it does and we all know how the government hates efficiency!
I love to see that 'Head-On-A-Swivel'. 🤓
Ah, still has the Bronco sound especially powering up - takes me back to '88 when the A's were at GAFB. Thx

What year was that Herk? The 23rd TASS was based at DMAFB.
May I ask from what airport did you depart from?
Made a silver monogram 1/48 scale model as kid
Hooked ever since

no one is shooting at him, he is no more likely to need ejection seats then a Dash 8 is.
How fast?
Would have loved to hear audio with it! Awesome plane and of course video
My favorite plane ❤️❤️
Video on TH-cam shows Bob Hoover doing aerobatics in a OV-10 Bronco.
Bob was the man! Amazing aviator!
Engine/prop sound reminds me of a skydiving Skyvan (G-BEOL/G-PIGY) loud but awesome!
I’m aboard and my seat belt and shoulder hardness belt secured and buckle up
Any training available in this Bronco?
Is there a way to get a ride in this? It's on my fairly short bucket list. I'm a rated instrument pilot, but am rusty these days.
Sorry late seventies

I'm on the fence about this video. Love the OV10 but...
This may sound strange, but I wonder if anyone ever put floats on a Bronco?
Why
There is a photo online with floats fitted. No evidence that they ever flew with them.
Be better with a stock panel
What's wrong with this panel?
Prop sync
Prop Sync. Plz. Flew 3K+ hours in a BAe-3200. Had to have them synced.
A beautiful video. I would love to fly in an OV-10!!
