I'm one of those silent viewers, never usually brave enough to comment. Your honesty and openness is so inspiring. Thinking of moving in together with my long term bf but having control of my own finances in my relationship is so important! My mum had always told me to work hard to ensure I have the financial freedom to not be held back in life by any man 💪
Aja yes! My birthday was 2 days after being debt free. Because of how gazelle intense i was, I had about $500 of money I had set aside for loan payments. After a check came in for some singing i had done earlier, I made the decision to treat all my closest friends to a fancy dinner for my birthday and it felt AMAZING😊
Great job on tackling $6k!!! My question to you is... since holidays are around the corner, what are your plans/budget for gifting? Are you telling family and friends “no gift” for either party? Are you going to have a budget? My husband and I did the “no gift” for Christmas for everyone, and we told the other party not to give us anything... instead... just hang out around the holidays. Knocked out my $70k student loans, and 2 cars loans in 2.5 years. 😁
luckily my family isn't too big on presents. Last month my mom asked for a dish towel and my dad asked for a mushroom cleaner (lol). Brian is the one I have to worry about bc he has expensive taste. Haven't decided what I'm going to do with him this yet....
these are my favorite videos of yours! i actually tend to enjoy your casual lifestyle and vlog style videos more than your sit down beauty videos. love your chatty vids!
I love your skincare, daily vlog/day in the life & these financial videos. What you said about the finances and importance of having it together especially as a woman really hit it home for me. I found myself thinking "Ive been working since 18...im almost 27 now what have i done with all that money??" bit depressing but at least, I get it now instead of still being clueless about finance.
That's so amazing!!! Honestly this is my dreaaaam to be able to contribute. I've paid down about 12k this year putting 30%-60% of my income and spending $45 a week on food. I still have $13,500 left and $30k in tuition starting January for my final year in grad school (mba). I get the feeling of being overwhelmed and looking around at people your age "enjoy" their money while you're literally eating rice and beans 💀😭. It's a hard journey but it also has it's points where it is fun to be part of a group of people like this taking back their financial freedom. In the trenches now, but I hope and will be working towrds freedom SOON
Yassss girl! Live like no one else so you can live like no one else. I have morning to show for all my Years of Working. Now I have a plan laid out for the next 3 years which is nothing! It feels like I was 27 yesterday now here I am about to turn 30
I really love your budgeting videos. I have been struggling with the matter for 1.5 years now and I’m only 18, but I had to start being an adult a little earlier than others because of my situation. My goal is to be in a better place financially before the end of this year and your videos inspire me and motivate me every time I watch them. The determination is there and I want the same fire in my eyes that you have in yours. I’ve wanted to give up on my goals many times and I can see that you have struggled with your finances, but I just know that I want something more. I don’t want to settle. Keep doing you! ❤️
These videos are a constant inspiration for me to get my financial situation in check. I am a current student at an expensive, private university and your video make me think twice about the debt I collect each quarter. Certainly, these videos have pushed me to begin paying off the small amount of loans that I have while in school
I love that you don't use background music in your videos. I can keep my chillhop loop playing and will still have background music even after I go through loops of your videos and youtube stops to ask me if I am still watching. Yes, still listening, still listening to both :)
AJA, I really really really appreciate you! I've never come across some who is so focused (certainly not on TH-cam) and determined to live their best life.. I think when people start making money it's really easy to get carried away and think impulsive rather than long-term. I will be turning 21 in a few months and have been working part-time alongside my law degree. I've been working for nearly two years now and up until a few months ago (when I discovered your videos) I basically had nothing saved up. I honestly couldn't tell you what I spent all that money on, but somehow it always disappeared! It's not that I wanted to waste money or that I didn't know how to budget, but seeing you try so hard to have a financially free future really pushed me to do the same. Now I really watch how much I spend and what I spend it on, and in a few months have saved up to buy a car that I really like and pay for insurance as a new driver, all upfront!! I can't thank you enough for being such a realistic and positive role model. I hope you continue to grow and allow us to grow with you!! Also, personally speaking, I love your content, ESPECIALLY the skincare related videos but have been unable to keep up with them due to school and work and other commitments as October has been a busy month.. that may be why some of your videos aren't doing as well as they normally do. Nonetheless, I appreciate the hard work you put into consistently uploading useful videos for us! Keep being awesome, lots of love from London 💖

Congratulations!! The mindset shift is huge. When I bought my first ever car, about a year ago at 24 years old, I put about 30% down, pitted multiple dealerships against each other to haggle the price down by over $6k, and arranged for a 0% interest loan and a 6-year term, so relatively low payments and a "good deal" for a 2017 entry level BMW. I felt hugely accomplished (foolish!). I LITERALLY DID NOT KNOW THAT I WAS "IN DEBT"!!! I was very fortunate (perhaps some would say spoiled) to have my Bachelors and Masters degrees covered by scholarships and my parents who did Florida prepaid, so I had no student loans, and I'd always had jobs and had started my own business so I had savings and investments and I'd never had debt. Since there was no interest, I honestly thought monthly car payments were like the same as rent payments! I had no concept of me being in debt - I thought my car was an ASSET, that I was ahead of the curve thanks to my emergency fund and mutual funds and good freelance salary, and that there was plenty of time for everything. When my then boyfriend (now fiance) and I started seriously talking about wedding planning, I got far more diligent about money and realized I was in real debt, my net worth was shockingly low thanks to this (you can't make progress when you're in debt - it's one step forward and two back) and I had money flowing out to such meaningless places (designer shoes and purses, fast fashion, makeup and skincare, vacations and decor) and I almost had a panic attack, haha! EVERYONE told me not to pay it off early because it's a zero percent interest loan. They said to invest instead of paying it off. But I realized I don't need this financial obligation hanging over my head for the rest of my 20's - I just put $10k on it over the weekend and plan to be fully paid off and out of debt before our wedding in June. Then we can spend the rest of our lives building wealth. My lifestyle has changed drastically in the last few months and I feel so good about it! I haven't sold anything to be fair - I've kept the "pretty" but I'm just not adding to it and my focus is getting out of debt. Some would say I should sell the car just because it's an unnecessarily high price ticket item, and they're not totally wrong. But for me it's our only vehicle and the last vestige of reckless financial youth, and I can be easily done paying it off in less than six months by age 26 with no interest penalties, and we've got our wedding cash-funded, we won't have children for a while, I still have investments growing, so I'm going to give myself this last one, and finish what I started with the payments extremely quickly, but then never ever again take on debt again outside a short term fixed rate mortgage. If I'm ever truly in trouble that goes above and beyond our emergency fund, or we want to accelerate our down-payment savings, or we move somewhere where we need two cars instead of one, I won't hold on to fancy car. ;) Sorry I ranted. I want some privacy with my finances so I don't talk to friends / family very explicitly about this but I am SOOOOO pumped.
I look forward to these videos every month! Some video ideas: how you have such an amazing hustle, who inspires you, budgeting with your partner - struggles/wins, and a Marie Kondo (getting rid of things) video or things you no longer want/need since managing your finances.
great video aja what you said about financial independence rly resonated w me coming from a background where I watched my mom struggle w that and I love how you emphasized the importance of not actually paying but having the ability to pay bc sometimes that feels equally important
These videos are so inspiring for me. I’m finishing up my last 5 months of college and knowing what I’m getting myself into regarding debt makes me feel more prepared and I love seeing how you’re doing this! Thanks for keeping it real with us!
hi aja! i personally look forward to these budgeting videos so so much even though they are only once a month. i love hearing you talk about your life and how you’ve gotten to where you are now, you inspire me to stay on top of debt and stay focused on financial security and freedom. you’re amazing!!

Hi Aja! Here are some video wishes ;) - 1. Your opinion about your zodiac sign, 2. everyday struggles and how to cope with them 3. mental health 4. how and what to plan for the future 5. womans health 6. what inspires you to be a feminist (like media, books, movies)
Student loan industry in the US is completely broken! As a Sweden the interest rate seems just insane, we have a 0.13% interest rate loan issued by the government.
@@nanawordie7967 I mean, let us assume I have 200k in loans if I pay them of over 70years (I can't) that would mean I have to pay a total of 20k extra in interest. If I invest the money instead in the stock market it is likely to at least increase 7% per year in the same amount of time that money invested would end up being about 2million. Loans are never fun, but when the interest is so low, the smart move is actually to invest rather than paying off the loan. So yes and no, if I had enough the loan in one go, I would probably do it.
Love to watch your finance/monthly budget videos, so happy to see you come closer to your goal every month, it's the best feeling! Other than you're finance videos, I really enjoy hair and skin care videos, ALSO when you tried ASMR, you were amazing at that, would love to see another one! 👍🏻
I love your content! The only reason I found you was because of your budgeting videos. It’s time for people to be real about financial situations because EVERYONE goes through them. I don’t know anyone who hasn’t struggled at least in the beginning. It’s helpful to know there is hope and you can do this. You got this! Thanks for the content!!
Aja Qapital is the BEST! I don’t make a lot of money and I was able to save $6.5k in 5 months. I put 30% of paychecks into my savings automatically and had rules set as deterrents so I wouldn’t go to places like target. The round up rule is great too. You don’t feel the money coming out of your account. Highly recommended it to anyone new to saving or trying to stay on track with their budgeting!
I personally don’t care for skin care videos but love ❤️ these monthly budget videos !!! So inspirational and interesting to watch !!! I budget every year for a vacation !!! I got at least once a year and minimum of 7-10 days !!!
Video suggestions: Productivity tips for work from home/self employed people. Time management. Self help books you have read and loved/short book reviews. Podcasts you listen to for inspiration. Kon Mari purge, going down her list of categories. Bougie on a budget, Walmart or Target clothes shopping. A video on things you don’t buy anymore (since budgeting). More “what I spent in a week” with real numbers. Not sure if you already done your “sick and tired of being sick and tired” moment with the debt. I’m not sure what your content has been prior to these money videos but I found you and started watching for that content. So just some suggestions, they may be totally off the wall but just throw some ideas out there, to get the creative juices flowing. 😘
Im obsessed with these videos because i do the same thing. And sharing this information to others who dont know much about student loans/ budgeting/ debt is so important! Keep doing it girl! You'll get there. And also please keep doing these videos.
I think I also mentioned about the Qapital app On a previous video. In my opinion, I really like it since I suck at saving money even for a small goals. But what I did is it just turn off the notifications so the money saves more quietly. Ever since you made the budget/financial journey videos I started watching other budget videos (such as Stacey Flowers) and it’s a nice change from the swarm of beauty/fashion videos on my subscription feed. I think I want to see more “what I spend in a day” vlog style or have Brian give his thoughts about you making it through your financial journey of paying off student loans in a monthly review.
Congrats! I just bought boots that I have been saving a month and a half for and it feels good to actually reach a goal (and save for something instead of impulsively buying them). As I was trying to sleep last night I was thinking about my student loans lol and thinking about making two payments a month instead of one. Thanks for keeping it up!!
Honestly I've been loving all your budget and money videos! They're really helpful and eye-opening, plus it's a topic that hardly anyone ever discusses. Thanks for sharing your personal experience :)
So inspiring, and very interesting on how you think about the future. I like your sit down and talk videos as well as some of the other ones, because you do have some really good tips (for example how to use the sheet mask properly).
Aja I LOVE these videos that you do. They are so honest and open and I really appreciate you making them. Money and finances are things I think about a lot and you’ve inspired me to start talking about them in my videos too. I really believe that by talking openly about debt we empower each other to make a change. Thank you 😊 we love you! xox

I really LOVE your vlogs and daily life stuff! And when you did a 'what I spent money on this week' was SUCH a great video bc it helped me put my own spending into perspective!
I enjoy your financial videos (currently in the process of getting a financial advisor). I would love to see the what I spent in a day, the what I eat in a day, the how I i take pics ones I love too.
I actually have not seen your new videos show up in my recommended list (which I feel is always showing the same videos I don't want to watch) or on my home page in like I use to. I now have to go directly to your account to check for anything new.
Congrats on reaching your goal this month, Aja! You better prrreeeaacchh about financial abuse and dependence! 👏🏽 Also, congrats on almost reaching 300k subs! 🎉 Keep up the great work! -Akeiva
I’d love to see more budgeting videos and maybe vlogs? You seem so interesting! Thanks for sharing your world with us! :D Plus it’s nice to see LA, I moved up to WA but I’m born and raised in Century City. Take care!
Hi Aja, congrats on meeting your goal this month! Yes I'd like more what I spend in a week vlogs and organisational videos too. Maybe a 'what I wear in a week' video?
Aja Dang Don’t be too discouraged! While it seems the trend of your viewers is increasingly interested in finance videos, I think your well-rounded channel is one reason I was drawn to subscribe. Although it does have fewer views than some of your other videos, still 14k is no small audience either. I also think that it’s one of those videos that may accumulate more views over time. For instance, I notice myself as a viewer searching for new content from other channels for specific things such as travel tips involving-packing-skincare-makeup-etc. or organization tips. videos of this type of content are often revisited later on, over and over, consistently versus an April favorites video that is current for only a few months and when it stops coming up in recommended, isn’t often discovered by new viewers. Even if it doesn’t get more views, I’ll be incorporating several of the techniques, and even a product from your video in my flight tomorrow! You’re successful in more than one way.
Congrats on meeting your goals! I totally get the movie renting « issue », my Netflix subscription was stressing me out even though it was only $8,42 (after taxes) so I decided to get rid of it. I’d love to see a few organization videos, also I don’t know how much you like cooking but a “what I cook myself in a day” would be interesting (I feel like most people eat out in « what I eat in a day » videos). Great video as always!
I didn't get into Qapital, but I am using Digit and I love it. It doesn't do round ups, but it does check your account for when you can save which is nice, though I can see where some people would not like that.
I love your what I spent in a week, financial updates, and what I ate in a day. Looking forward to Vlogmas. Would love to see something on your favorite cookbooks
Congrats on reaching your goal! However I'm mostly focused on little doggo hanging out in the background there - he is my pup's twin and it's the best 😭😍
Aja your videos have been so inspirational to me and my life that I now feel like I'm ready to really start working on my TH-cam career. I'm a medical student with a passion for education and I'd love to teach others how to do well in school, share my struggles, and eventually build it into a platform that I can create health educational videos with as well. I'd love to see content from you about starting up a youtube channel and brand from scratch. Some mistakes and some wins you've made and what you'd recommend to the next generation of women looking to make a difference and connect with each other on this platform. All my love!
Aweee!!! I love you so much! I’ve been subscribed to you for the longgggest!!! ❤️😭 I support any video! Here’s some ideas to help you out! “A Q and A w Brian” “vlog about what happens within a week in your shoes” or just a “Q and A about yourself rn” “Do a munkbang video w you and Brian” “do another dance from Beyoncé” (THAT WAS SUCH A GOOD VIDEO I LOVED IT!!! What also would be cool if you’d film more like outside your house kinda like vlogging so the scenery could be a change up and add more oof... NOT THAT YOUR CHANNEL NEEDS IT BC I LOVE IT ALREADY!!!!
Congrats on meeting your goal! :) Your budget & skincare videos are my fave. Crossing my fingers that you do Vlogmas this year! (Or your day in the life videos) Keep pushing towards your goal. You’re amazing and an inspiration to all of us 💓
Inspired by this video! I'm already on my debt free journey, but your videos on this topic really rejuvenate me. Also I enjoyed the money diary vlog style video you did previously. Congrats on your goal. Good luck with the refinance.
Hi, Aja! Can you do a video on managing finances with your significant other? While I know this is a case-by-case basis for each couple, I am curious to know what has worked for you guys, and if there is anything like advice/tips from your experience that can be helpful. I know that financial independence is important, but wondering about others' experience of financial independence whilst in a relationship. Thanks so much!
Re: relationship and money. Can you touch on that? How was your debt affected your relationship? So you guys split everything? Does your SO have debt as well? thx!
I really enjoy your vlogs. I'm learning so.much. I wish I could be free of the loans. I'll definitely look into the suggestions from you and the comment board. Thank you
Hey girl! I follow you mainly cause of your female empowerment topics and your realness. I really enjoyed the vid about stomach rolls, and would love to see more of that! I'm the sort of person that only uses the same moisturizer all year round and keep my skin care routine pretty simple and minimal, so I tend to skip those sort of vids. Keep up the amazing work! Also love to see Brian in your videos!
I know what you mean about the whole organizing your house/de cluttering, I feel the same way! I love that you mentioned that, makes me want to de clutter some more! Lol

Aja!! I have loved seeing your journey. I really think you should do vlogmas. 25 videos on your daily life to finish out this crazy year! It could bring some extra cash and really help you sign off for 2018.
I definitely feel guilty when I have to spend money on myself for “fun things”, when I eat out too much, or on clothes- that I kind of avoid them at this point. I am struggling to work through it.
I'd love a video on how you track spending with your budget - do you go through it all on a spreadsheet at the end of the month or track it on an app day by day? Just like tips and tricks for staying on top of all those sorts of things would be great.
Hi Emily, I also share my budget on my channel. Also, I will be hosting a contest on my channel from Nov. 1st- Nov 14th. It's a chance to win a $25 Amazon, Walmart or Target Gift Card.
Omg I feel like we have such similar personalities. I always stress about my student loans and take it out on decluttering my space to leave room in my head, one less thing to think about! Love these videos and I just wanted to say you inspired me to upload my own debt video on my TH-cam channel 💕
Found this video via search for November budgets and I really appreciate this style video. Great job this month and thank you so much for sharing your numbers. I posted a month breakdown video, but used percentages. That was sobering, but it's always better to know where you stand. Here's to crushing those goals!!! xWBW
Congrats on meeting your October goal and yes to being financially independent. So happy for you. P.S you're also part of the reason I started my yt channel..the video when you said maid 30k in a month, I was like damn thats what I made in a year. Tfs and being so honest
Maybe your audience is changing. I never watched your skincare videos. These finance ones are much more interesting. You are such an inspiration.
Her Money Her Purpose yeah I also found her because of the finance videos too

I love the “what I spent this week” videos! Also love hair videos, outfit videos, casual day in my life videos. I’m not picky
haha ya, that's literally all my videos. Thanks for watching!
I would of loved to have seen a house organisation video, maybe consider one when you sort your bedroom? Love your videos xx

No more student loan! This guy helped me top up my account with $10,000 and am finally free of this life-sucking loan..add up @charlesthomp on Instagram or send a text to +12016609651..you can thank me later btw
Canada is pretty insane too, for us its about 5%-9%.
That sounds like a dream 😭
@@sarahgreen7359 it is! I'm paying of my loan as slow as possible because of this
Jimmy Nilsson wouldn’t you want to pay off your loans faster tho?
@@nanawordie7967 I mean, let us assume I have 200k in loans if I pay them of over 70years (I can't) that would mean I have to pay a total of 20k extra in interest.
If I invest the money instead in the stock market it is likely to at least increase 7% per year in the same amount of time that money invested would end up being about 2million.
Loans are never fun, but when the interest is so low, the smart move is actually to invest rather than paying off the loan.
So yes and no, if I had enough the loan in one go, I would probably do it.
every time i see these videos on my explore page i get so excited,, love you!
Hi Aja! I'm a senior at USC and was hoping you could do a video about money/habits for new real-world adults!
You don't understand how much you inspire me!! keep going girl, you got this, I'm 100% here for your journey! x
I really like your vlogs and what I spent this week videos!!
You’ve come such a long way. So proud of you.
A 1000 dollar dinner? What do they serve, unicorn meat? As a person form a former SSRS country, I can't relate, haha
Congrats on reaching your goal!! We're all rooting for you
I think I also mentioned about the Qapital app On a previous video.
Financial independence is sooo important for everyone, especially for us women.
Congrats! I just bought boots that I have been saving a month and a half for and it feels good to actually reach a goal (and save for something instead of impulsively buying them). As I was trying to sleep last night I was thinking about my student loans lol and thinking about making two payments a month instead of one. Thanks for keeping it up!!
Awesome job reaching your monthly goal!!
I love your financial videos! Also, renting a movie and not feeling guilty about it is totally an accomplishment!!
Honestly I've been loving all your budget and money videos! They're really helpful and eye-opening, plus it's a topic that hardly anyone ever discusses. Thanks for sharing your personal experience :)
Love these financial videos. Your transparency is refreshing :)
Thank you 😊 we love you! xox
Wow Aja! You are so inspiring. You got this. I can't wait to hear you debt scream in 2 years because I know you can do it! You go girl!
No more student loan! This guy helped me top up my account with $10,000 and am finally free of this life-sucking loan..add up @charlesthomp on Instagram or send a text to +12016609651..you can thank me later btw
I really LOVE your vlogs and daily life stuff! And when you did a 'what I spent money on this week' was SUCH a great video bc it helped me put my own spending into perspective!
Congrats on putting so much to your loans! You’re doing a great job attacking your debt!
I love seeing you being happy and passionate!
thank you!
Wow. Keep going. I'm currently paying mine off as well
So proud you made the $6000 that’s so amazing! I honestly would love to see some of the process of your organization experience with a professional!
Congrats on reaching your goal this month, Aja! You better prrreeeaacchh about financial abuse and dependence! 👏🏽 Also, congrats on almost reaching 300k subs! 🎉 Keep up the great work! -Akeiva
Congrats Aja! I love using Qapital. I never notice the money leaving my account because it goes in such small increments. I'm sure you'll love it.
Maybe a 'what I wear in a week' video?
well what I wear in a week videos wouldn't be too exciting bc I'm normally in my sleep clothes 5 days out of the week.
@@AjaDang haha true! Oh what about 'good self-care on a budget', something around that topic?
I still enjoy your skincare videos, especially the one about flights and your recent short flight skincare routine
man, I really liked my short flight skincare routine, but no one watched it!
Maybe a video of see how u organize ur place and any tips ud recommended 🤗🤗
Thank you for sharing the need for women to be in charge of their own finances and also physical safety.
I enjoy watching your videos on money! Budgeting, what I spent in a week, etc.
Love seeing your progress!! Cute pup
I AM NOT OVER SKIN CARE!!! haha I love it! I'm so excited for my facetory stuff to come! :) Maybe a goals video?
I like your budget videos! You are so honest and it’s great to see your financial journey! Very inspiring! 👏🏻😊💕
Re: relationship and money. Can you touch on that? How was your debt affected your relationship? So you guys split everything? Does your SO have debt as well? thx!
I want more videos like this! I’m all about getting out of debt right now.
My refinancing went from 7.9% to like 4.5% or something. Made a huge difference!
wwhhhhaattt??? Dang, that's huge!
I really enjoy your vlogs. I'm learning so.much. I wish I could be free of the loans. I'll definitely look into the suggestions from you and the comment board. Thank you
you are so glowing! ✨
Yayyy! Proud of you. Love your positivity ❤❤ always rooting for you on this journey!
Lol
hauls, skincare, makeup, routines!
I've been using Qapital for 3months. I love it!!
that's good to know! What rules have you been using?
@@AjaDang Mostly Round Up Rule 52 Week Rule and Set & Forget. I have budgets for Vacations, Emergency Fund, and School Expenses.
I love these real conversational videos 🤗
No more student loan! This guy helped me top up my account with $10,000 and am finally free of this life-sucking loan..add up @charlesthomp on Instagram or send a text to +12016609651..you can thank me later btw
Aja!! I have loved seeing your journey. I really think you should do vlogmas. 25 videos on your daily life to finish out this crazy year! It could bring some extra cash and really help you sign off for 2018.
I did vlogmas last year and only made it through half the month.
I definitely feel guilty when I have to spend money on myself for “fun things”, when I eat out too much, or on clothes- that I kind of avoid them at this point. I am struggling to work through it.
Love these videos. Love that it is going so well for you
I'd love a video on how you track spending with your budget - do you go through it all on a spreadsheet at the end of the month or track it on an app day by day? Just like tips and tricks for staying on top of all those sorts of things would be great.
Hi Emily,
I also share my budget on my channel.
Here's to crushing those goals!!! xWBW
I am loving these financial videos! As well as goals and motivation videos for the new year would be great. Xo 😘
This is amazing! Girl we want to see these videos, so much depth and knowledge that you keep giving. I’m invested in your future now lol.
I listen to Optimal Living Daily podcast on a regular basis and it has helped me a lot with goals setting, etc. Such good content.
You go girl! You're doing great 💜
Do vlogs, I love them
"Do you really need this receipt from 1995?"
Organization videos please!!!
Can you tell me how to make $6,000/mo? I need advice on how to get out of debt.
Jodi Lynn Nelson she makes it from TH-cam
she only does commercials and tons of sponsorships
I'm on this journey with you girl!! Congrats on the progress!!
Congrats on meeting your October goal and yes to being financially independent. So happy for you.
P.S you're also part of the reason I started my yt channel..the video when you said maid 30k in a month, I was like damn thats what I made in a year. Tfs and being so honest
