FYI for the World Cup The kick was to take the lead. 5 points for the try (touchdown), 2 points for the conversion.
Jimmy, correction, that first kick after the try would have put New Zealand in the lead by 1.
Context: Calgary would have finished in 4th and in the playoffs if Manitoba had not converted the two-point attempt. So that play very much mattered to them.

Hey Jimmy, I'm glad you included volleyball stuff, it's actually a super fun sport to watch at any level. I've been doing stats for it for a year or so now, and wanted to let you know the official term for what everyone calls a "spike" is just an "attack", and if the attack is successful then it becomes a "kill" for the player who hit the ball. If the ball is blocked out of bounds, it's also stat-ed as a kill for the player who hit the ball

Its a problem in sports where it isn't necessary to wear skimpy uniforms such as tennis but if you want to make a career out of it you have to sexualise your own body otherwise sponsors wont have any interest in you, the highest paid women's athletes are rarely the best players unless its a case of someone being a superstar like Serena Williams where her name is known by everyone. Sexism goes very deep in this world

@@andrewpruett3719 That's what I mean when I say its pervasive. there is an expectation for women to wear tighter fitting uniforms and less clothing even when it isn't necessary. Yes women often make the choice to sexualise themselves and they have every right to do that if they choose too, but the decision is often made because of pressure to meet standards of femininity especially when partaking in sports, which is viewed as a masculine thing to be doing in the first place.

Wow, Canadian Football has less fans in attendance than MLB…and I’m a fan of baseball.
That's Canadian university football, the CFL consistently gets good attendance numbers, especially in the prairies where folks are super passionate about their teams. No idea why there weren't more students at that university game but it's nowhere near as popular as college ball in the States.

I think the female field hockey coach thought it would be fun to dodge being dumped on but its basically a unwritten sports rule that you kinda allow your team to dump on you. Those little things women wouldn't understand vs men are brought up with it. You see how its actually really awkward if you try to run from it.

Watch a full rugby match, preferably from the world cup, and you'll like it. Extremely physical sport
I honestly hate Rugby. I hate peoples superiority complex about liking Rugby too. Its an objectively ugly looking sport. They say we should be impressed that they never stop while we stand around but seeing plays broken up into chunks is a lot better for the viewing experience. I hate how the players have to slam into each other and how much they collide, lay on each other and all that crap they do. Rugby fans say we are wimps for wearing pads, the Rugby tackles aren't close to what NFL players are doing. Also the forward pass in NFL is way more beautiful to watch than the option toss thing. Football is objectively a advancement on Rugby and it mixes grace, balance, beauty, with brutality and bone crunching hits.
