Everything that comes from Stephen Malkmus have the special touch (for me at least). His music is so unique and tasteful! I can't even count the times listening to the "Cold son" or "J Smoov" or even "Send in the clouds" (which is another story) had lifted my broken spirit. It feels very much part of my life and, Stephen, thank you for that.
I like how he's literally up in his ivory tower. It's well earned. I listened to the full album 2 times directly in a row, ending about half an hour ago, with bose headphones. This is TRULY an amazing album. It's almost as if S.M. has a catharsis pedal somewhere on his board.
There are certain artists, certain people, that you sort of have expectations of what their work will be. With Malkmus, he could pretty much do or say anything and I'm in. So the fact that he's also really still making up great songs is rad.
You can say the F. Wo rd Cowboy! Wellll... the kids? Yeahhhh. Awesome made my Humpday with Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks! & tennis & text & sweet plucking.
I’m like *triggered* by the number of shots that are out in the first minute. I am a really working class dude, and my parents decided that tennis lessons with a friend might be beneficial to me, but they are not helping me enjoy this video. Also, I’m still poor after graduating at the top of my class from one of the best schools in the country, so fuck generational wealth.
Cringeworthy. As Jenkins approaches net about the 1:00 minute mark, he deftly avoids stepping on the balls scattered in front which you should definitely not try at home. My wife was out six-months with a severe sprain.
Makes me so happy Malkmus is still releasing great music.
One of the greats.
Is it possible to still be in love with Malkmus? Yes.
Cherry Area Yes, yes, yes! More than ever after watching this.
As a straight man too, yes
Oh what a love affair it's been. 30 Years!? Yes.
And this entire film gives me real Father to a Sister of Thought throwback... Must be the horses...
Is it possible not to be? No.

Hadn't seen this before, great! Thanks.
All so cool . Thanks for all your songs.
Solid Silk. That's the song he plays at the end. Best song he has written yet. Just fantastic and I can't get past it on the LP at the moment.
I could not possibly pick his 'best song'. Impossible task

Timothy Amerman That’s a beautiful analysis.
His music never disappoints me. Looking forward to continually playing the new stuff.
That last song with strings. So good. Can't wait for the LP.
Yeah, that was really beautiful, very melancholy. One of his best in a while.
So Brilliant, so well done. the look sound and feel is great. Long live Robert Altman!
"Bike Lane" Is friggin' sick
This album rocks

how could I never watch this before!
What a positive end to my day!
I'm glad to see he has a gigantic Steal Your Face hanging in his rehearsal room.
Amazing! I love this album...the best sounds of electric guitar!
After this sneak preview, roll on May 18. I can't wait to hear this album and I look forward to the London show in October.
Beautifully shot! So many references stylistically bt, I love the Robert Altaman..esc feel at points. Thank You!
Steve when are you coming to Australia??
Brilliant. The new stuff sounds amazing
Fantastic version of Solid Silk at 7:30
Thank you
'Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks' is the best band right now.
Noel Yeo Correction: Best band for the past 18 years.
Of course they are- they Rock n roll where other bands are mediocre at best
Holy hell yes. And yes some more. And more yes. Please.
I'm pumped for this album. sucks I missed you guys on the last tour, won't happen this time around
Hi you UI UI UI UI UI Jio
What I'd give for a complete release of that version of "Solid Silk" from 7:00 to the end...
Perfect form on the forehand.
I’ll take jammy/psychedelic Jicks please.
This is a really good movie.
Beautiful stroke, I remember when I played junior tennis I got to warm up Ilie Nastase and Vitas Gerulaitis, fo real…
You can say the F. Wo rd Cowboy! Wellll... the kids? Yeahhhh. Awesome made my Humpday with Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks! & tennis & text & sweet plucking.
Him & Robert Pollard are equally fascinating. Similar in some ways.
the horse bit kills me!
Awesome. Can't wait for this!
Sounds great. "information dust..." 👍
After watching this I feel like smoking a cigarette. Man that was good. Jicks 2018!
The zoom at 2:14 needed to pull in a bit tighter so we could see the tear falling...
Nice one-handed backhand Stephen.
Is Solid Silk is some open tuning?
Have you figured out the chords by chance?
Dude is good at tennis
Song at 3:00

i'm still waiting for real emotional trash 2, steve.
F Yeaa
At first i read it as spackle hard, and I thought it would be about a dry waller.
His backhand puts Bob Dylan’s to shame

!!!
This new record sounds great. Malkmus is back writing great songs. He lost me w the last 3 records. Too psych/jammy.
Listen to the song Houston Hades again and tell me he wasn't writing great songs!
Last TWO records were not nearly psych/jammy enough
You're high! Last two albums are classics...
He really has to work on his form. And the one handed backhand might not be a good choice yet.
how "D" partner
how D partn'er
ok
That tennis ball machine got its butt kicked.

ok nerd
......is the worst, second is the best and third is the one with the hairy chest!
first?
did you come first?
Oh my god, stop! And i used to think you were my answer to an aging Neil Young... Well thank god Neil isn't aging!
Magnificience!👍🍷
