Reminds me of when I was in my early twenties and heard Tori Amos for the first time; not making a comparison between artists - have a pet peeve about that myself - just comparing the impact of hearing a brilliant artist for the first time back then, and finally experiencing that again with another brilliant artist twenty years later.

I get the disappointment but her new record "Ten Love Songs" is almost in all best records of the year ranks so i guess (and hope) she is in a better place for an alternative/electronic music artist.And Delirious was huge and universally liked.

Susanne said in an interview that this song was not to be taken literally. The gun-part is from an Emily Dickinson-poem ("my life had stood - a loaded gun"), and to her it meant that something bad had been given to her, and now she wanted everything to go away - Back to silence. And what silence would be better than a cold earth, with barren trees and fields of snow, white foxes joining you, hunting the hidden dome (whatever that is), and your heart would forget it`s made of glass? :) Sounds good to me, at least as an escape from the synthetic "I`m so perfect, but on the inside I`m dying"-lives we lead.

Saw her live a few years ago. I've been to many concerts with a lot of world famous bands, but her concert gave me chills. She plays most of the instruments herself in studio, but her band is also magnificent.
and her voice is truly epic. She doesn't seem to have any limit of her voice range, , even live (i'm a singer), so her voice is legit. So fascinating to watch her live :)

so they (the doctors) took a Fox out of the mans head; the fox, I think, represents youth and joy and innocence. It has been removed, or killed, as it were, and the boy is stumbling through a very cold world wondering how it died, and who has the answers.

Ah, I wondered this as well. Looks like, from the video, the back of the man's head is what is being operated on -the occipital lobe, the part of your brain that controls visual processing. With this removed, he would lose his peripheral vision or perhaps even more. I related this to her lyrics, "my eye is my sanctuary." I think that perhaps the child and the fox represent his childlike fear of stumbling into a world where he may no longer be independent and can no longer do things that perhaps he once loved (the motorcyclist) due to this loss of vision. The child clings to a fox, naïvely unaware that it had been hunted -maybe even regrettably by himself. "You gave me my very first gun." Human nature is cruel and his fragile perception of what it means to be normal, healthy, mature, strong, etc. is being shattered.

Artists from Norway, Finland, Sweden, and other Nordic places of Europe are so lucky because they can make awesome snowy videos very often as snow there is common. Here in Mexico you never get to see snow and it would be very hard for an artist to make a video like this.
