I just bought something similar, but with 4 leds inside.. they said they are 40w .. I had 10w before like yours... And now I bought from rohs 40w .. they are the same like 10w ... (paid 50£ from ebay )
Dear Andy, I bought the same lights. The problem is heating the canbus. How did you solve that? After a short drive, the canbus gets warm and after a while my lights go on and off. I see that you have made a small hole at the top (In the video at 4:11 min this hole clearly visible). So your canbus is not in the headlight house? outside somewhere against the metal? Would you like to share your experience? Maybe, Do you have problems with drafts in your headlight housing?
That is not CANBUS, (CANBUS is a message-based protocol). It is LED driver. If LED driver overheats, it is faulty. They should work fine and last even being inside the headlight. Placing them outside the headlight won't really help much.
I bought the same ones but I am concerned with the heat from the resistor, during testing it got so hot I couldn’t hold it and I’m worried it will damage something on the inside of the headlight while running.
@@DjordjeSrpski I contacted the company with the temperatures and they said it’s normal. It was about 115 degrees. I completed the install and ran them ever since. One side ended up going out, and since I was selling the car recently I just left it. The new owner wanted to do a custom headlight build so he wasn’t worried. Hope this helped.
