So much waiting below! I'm certified 30 years, getting gear ready now. Good luck and great video! It takes guts to go into deep ends and deep pockets. Always dive with a buddy on the surface, no matter if it's just one diver, or five. I used to tie a line to my dive belt(so it can be dropped instantly if snagged) and secure it on the bank to go into pockets with currents. There can be big logs in there, huge gar, snappers, gators, snakes..lo l(As I'm sure you well know). Make sure to disinfect your ears after each dive. If I could afford a full face mask, I'd get one. I'm gonna get one, it's on the list. One with a radio is obviously the best if you have the $ ;-) Great job getting into it... it's there, under the muck. Remember, the muck layers have trapped all kinds of nasty crap, I believe there are rules in different states for disturbing the bottom for this reason. That's why elbows are important, it's concentrated in a small area= less disturbed crap. My pop was a commercial diver in Costa Rica, he had a BARNACLE attach to the inside of his ear! This was salt water, but point is, there are things in that water. Rivers and creeks(even the gulf) you must think about runoff locally. Some places are high in fecal coliform bacteria because of properties on the rivers that have dogs, leaking septic, farm runoff, etc. It's always good to test water you will be diving in regularly, it doesn't cost much. @@adventurearchaeology I came face to face with a 6' Gar once, under a huge log...lucky for me, and it, that we met. It had fishing line wrapped completely around its jaws. I cut it off with my dive knife(always have sharp)...it let me, I think it was tired and hungry. It took off right away. When I saw it though...holy crap. I was fanning the bottom, silt rising up, and as it cleared, the teeth of the Far were 12" from my mask. Opening and closing the little bit it could. Thing was huge. Almost made a coprolite in my wetsuit!

Maybe you should try fishing underwater. Try gummy worms fish really like them. And twizzlers. Fish love them. I'm just a Texas girl who likes hunting and fishing.

If the water is moving with enough force to blow those holes out deep as they are then there's enough force to blow any light stuff out of the hole. So in a near future video, you're gonna break out some crazy looking modified metal detector that can somehow detect buried glass? Ha jk, but could you imagine how useful something like that would be not just for bottle hunting but for public water use safety. I'm really curious as to what the invention is gonna be. Looking forward to its debut.
Great video my friend. Great place for a canoe and some supplied air setup. Check out our latest video on dig dogs channel where we are using scuba tanks in our canoe with a 30’ hose. Should get scuba certified first though. No telling whats down in the deep holes. We use 16lb weight belts and literally walk or crawl the bottom with and without detectors with canoes in tow to come up and put our finds in. We met Matt with gone digging at DIV this year yall will have fun with some scuba gear too. I personally like the supplied air and hose in the creeks and small rivers because its super easy to bail out and surface if you get in trouble. No fins needed you just walk or crawl the bottom and fan the silt out of the way. Its awsome fun👍😀. HH Tim

Keep your eyes above the water, and use an underwater viewer bucket, to see easily through the surface glare and riffles.
The viewer bucket is on my to do list for sure!
