    It's actually pretty funny reading all the comments saying the S2000 was at fault.
    Nobody seems to realize that the Nurburgring isn't actually a race track on the Touristenfahrten (tourist drive) days.
    The R32 came in WAY too hot, and he could see the slow S2000 from quite a distance away coming off that straight before the left hand kink. People drive way too hard on the Touristenfahrten sessions and often outdrive their own abilities.

    The accident is from a public day where the Ring is a one-way public toll road; it isn't closed off as in with their trackdays. On public days coaches and trucks go around too, so those saying the S2000 was going too slow and had no right to be there are merely ignorant of the facts.

    It is funny to read comments from people that haven't got the slightest idea on what a Touristenfahrten is... IT COULD HAVE BEEN A TRUCK INSTEAD OF THE S2000, or a slow motorcycle (dead after this kind of crash). This is NOT a track day, and NO, you are not obliged to go fast. Assumption is the mother of ALL F-UPS.

    Whoever says that the fault is of the Sk2, has never driven at ring.
    Ring is not a circuit , rules here are slighty different.
    1) You can overtake only left side. S2k was in the right place for the rules.
    2) Golf pilot has made a huge mistake, overestimating his position and braking on the grass.
    3) As for the road, if you hit, you are responsable.
    Sorry for the two drivers, but it's Golf fault.

    I just done the Nurburg last weekend. Obv much faster 911s etc were up my arse within seconds, made my first mistake of sticking to the left indicating left but they would not over take on the right and flashed at me, having realised its German law I went to the right and they overtook on the left which is what this S2000 is doing. Ppl have to remember its not a race track, makes no difference how slow the S2000 was, could be stationary from breaking down, Golf driver entered that corner far too fast and had he not crashed into the S2000 he wouldv made a meal of the corner anyway. His mistake, was out of his depth and going onto the grass made him loose control which lead him into the S2000s rear. If hed stayed on the track he mightv just crashed his own car and not involved any innocent drivers.

    Yes, If the S2K was driving faster, the accident could probably have been avoided, but the driver of the R32 came into the corner too hot, lost control of the vehicle and rammed the back of the S2K. The S2K driver did not cause the accident, the guy who put his car into the corner faster than he could handle caused the accident. Drive your car to its limit, sure. Just not beyond it.

      Unless they have special insurance that covers the use of their cars on a race track (which is unlikely) then they'll each have to pay for their own car repair/replacement. Normal car insurance doesn't cover using your car on a track. I'm guessing you also have to sign a disclaimer to say you can't hold the track owners responsible. Basically you're on your own.

    Honda driver was overtaken by 3 people in the first clip before the VW hit it. If he is driving that slow he shouldn't be on the racing line! VW was driving fast on the racing line, it's not his fault there was a slow ass in front of him! The only reason he lost control is because he locked up the brakes trying to slow down while cornering.
    tl:dr if the Honda wasn't on the racing line this never would have happened.

    Obviously most of you never have been to a Trackday and even less have been to the NOS.
    The "Nordschleife" has its own strict rules.
    Most important rule: Overtaking from the right side is prohibited.
    Also, Trackdays on the Nordschleife arent meant to be entered with the mindset, that you want the fastest time possible.
    In short, its a toll way without speed limit - thats all. You can either cruise, or rip through the corners, its all up to you.
    All in all: The R32 will have to pay the damage on the S2k and he even did. There is nothing to discuss.

    as far as I concerned you hardly find an insurance company to insure you on the track. I'd be interested how did they come to an understanding. It should have cost a fortune for the VW driver. He had to pay for the track closure, for his own car, for the Honda, for the tow truck etc.

    • @Smitherrrrs

      @@Smitherrrrs and you just proved, that you have no idea how the Nordschleife works on Touristenfahrten and what it actually is. On Touristenfahrten (not trackdays!) the Nordschleife is a paid toll road and not a racetrack. Thats why it's illegal to pass from the right, ignore the speed limits on some parts of the track, etc.. Since it's "just" a toll road and not a racetrack regular insurance policies kick in (if the insurance has no explicit clause to exclude the Nordschleife) and the golf driver rearended that s2k, forcing him to pay for the damages.

    Wieso schmieren die Reifen beim Jolf eigtl. so krass, hat der kein ABS?

    • @brixomatic
      @brixomatic 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bestimmt, aber wenn die Reifen quer über die Lauffläche schieben, hilft auch ein ABS nicht mehr wirklich. Abgesehen davon erlaubt ein ABS noch einen gewissen Prozentsatz an Schlupf.

    • @hubertwalter1749
      @hubertwalter1749 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wie du schon sagst einen gewissen Schlupf aber keine 50m Bremsspur :)

    • @brixomatic
      @brixomatic 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hubert Walter ein ABS kann nicht quer zur Rollrichtung wirken und es kann die Physik nicht überlisten. Der Reifen ist eingeschlagen, ein großer Teil der Kraft auf den Reifen verläuft nicht in die Richtung, in der das ABS wirken kann.

    der golf (r32) is wieder aufgebaut und fährt wieder.
    an alle besserwisser, der Honda is zuvor auch mit hoher Geschwindigkeit gefahren.
    und dann an in der Kurve hat der Golf dann den Fahrbahnrand erwischt und kam ins schlingern und bei tempo 230 was da ein normales tempo ist an der stelle bei so Fahrzeugen is der bremsweg dementsprechend lang.

    Wtf was the s2000 driver doing? He was right on the line that cars are going to follow out of the corner, but he's only driving 30mph? Feel bad for the r32 owner for that one.

    • @maxidiaz423
      @maxidiaz423 9 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      Glass-Man-252 Nope, this is what the Nordschleife web says: "In the interest of safety for all concerned some rules need to be followed. You have to drive on the right side and the Highway Code and Road Traffic Licensing Regulations apply". So, it's not the S2000 driver's fault. There is one basic thing that people forgets: The Nordschleife is a one-way toll road open to the public (there are even speed limits in some places), that means that you have to respect lots of rules. Yes, you can drive fast, but first you need to check for other cars around you; something that the R32 driver didn't make before going full-attack and "overcooking" that turn.

    • @glass-man-2527
      @glass-man-2527 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Maxi Díaz I had no idea that the drivers were to follow those types of regulations such as staying to the right and speed limits in certain sections!!! Knowing now what you've explained the r32 would be at fault. I just looked at it like the s2000 was just driving way too slow and the vw couldn't avoid him. However the vw shouldn't have entered that corner so aggressive. Thanks for the insight to the rules and regulations.

      Glass-Man-252 You're welcome. I have to say, the S2000 driver was a bit too slow maybe, but he's not the one to be blamed here. Anyway, thank you for being reasonable, that's something hard to find on the internet (especially on TH-cam) these days. Have a nice day, chap.

    • @schreibhecht
      @schreibhecht 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Man muß öfters gebremst haben um aus dem Reflex heraus zu entscheiden ob man bremst oder ob man die Bremse losläßt. Wichtig ist eigentlich nur zu wissen das man oft etwas Kontrolle zurück bekommt, wenn man die Räder drehen läßt. Und man muß wissen das man die Physik nicht überlisten kann.
      Wenn es regnet, schneit oder Nebel ist, ist es wichtig so langsam zu fahren das man überleben könnte. Bei solchen Wetter ist die Unfallgefahr um ein vielfaches höher.

      Syrox Man könnte mit gelöster Bremse Kräfte nehmen und das Auto wird weniger belastet und das Auto könnte sich wieder fangen.
      ABS ist zum Beispiel bei Schnee fast funktionslos bzw man hat einen längeren Bremsweg.
      Man sollte also nicht blind der Technik vertrauen. Man sollte üben um im Ernstfall angepasst reagieren,
