Hey sorry to leave a third comment but just read a whole article a minute ago about what you were speaking of and it mentioned not only collectors but also card shops or certified hobby shops are all mostly sending in their stuff to be scanned basically there will be no trusted sellers it’s pretty scary it will destroy the hobbie but said the scanning was expensive so everyone won’t do it but the scanning company is finding ways to accommodate everyone and make it cheaper
@@jordannorris4029 lol what a joke. They won't do it with one piece box's though doesn't make sense. Modern won't be touched 😅 so I guess there's that 🤷🏻
Scanning booster boxes before opening them for hits isn't okay in any way. If it were to be used to scan boxes to ensure the cards aren't fake, that would be great. The One Piece TCG has definitely shifted on a scale from more people wanting to play the game to those who want to resell and purely make money off of the cards, packs, and boxes. I collect One Piece cards because I love the art so much and there are a lot of awesome alt-art cards (Rob Lucci CP-0 Alt SR being my favorite), but never for money. If scanners are to be used to ruin the fun of opening boxes/packs, then something needs to be done against the company providing this service. Awesome video! 🔥
I wasn’t even aware of the scanners but I’m actually not surprised, the fact you mentioned a potential handheld in the future was my EXACT thought! Like I can picture scalpers/buyers/collectors walking around with those in the future looking for hits. Very interesting but immoral fersure! Hope you and the family have been doing great brother! 🤙🏼
Yo appreciate that man, the family are great, still haven't had a proper night's sleep but baby is healthy and so are we, that's all that matters haha hope you're good ✌🏻
The Pokemon and Bandai companies should take that company to court nobody will buy product if this is possible and the companies will go under. So don’t buy from random sellers with cases only buy from certified hobby shops
Lol I am not sure but it seems like one. If this scanning thing makes people stop buying Pokemon or one piece than In theory they lose money and go under if it gets bad or find a way for it to be impossible for a company to scan their products. Just saying if I owned a company and someone was doing something shady that hurt my pockets if I had a legitimate legal case I would sue. Either way the situation is low down and ruins it for us all
Oh absolutely if they could they would, but once the product has been bought they can do what they want with it I'm pretty sure. But I agree something needs to be done
CT scanning booster boxes will definitely make people warry of the secondary market if anything. Heck even buying from local TCG stores will be a leap of faith.
Even the scanner can screw over the box sender. If there a big hit in there box just send a box that has nothing good in and keep the good box. The sender would never know there box has been switched.
What is the world coming to man?! Like that is just next level, doing it purely for the cash at the end as well - not for love of the franchise (in the case of Pokemon) or anything! Hopefully the technology doesn't become even more readily available otherwise it will be too hard to avoid. Depends on how Bandai etc. try to combat it if it becomes a problem at the end of the day though! (Nice Bonny pull btw - the AA Leader is coming!!!) 🔥
I think it will only effect the vintage market for now as it's too expensive to use on cheaper boosters. But we will see who knows what people have been doing.
The only way that I can think of would be putting something in the packaging of every pack that would stop it from being X-rayed but I’m not sure if that’s possible
It really makes you nervous to try and buy boxes from places because they’ll take the good boxes for themselves to sell the good cards and give the average boxes to the normal person. Thanks for the video though. keep my eyes out.
Yeah completely agree, this won't be too much of a problem for modern so long as we can get stuff from LGS and bandai stores. But you're right. Have to be extra careful now.
The prices to do it are ridiculous. Especially for tcg products. It's not worth it to pay that much just to find cards that aren't worth a lot, maybe hundreds. And if the chase card isn't there then you paid all that for nothing. But it is bad for high end sports cards. Finding 1/1 or low numbered chase cards in $3,000+ boxes would be worth it.
Yeah I don't think it will effect us so much on a smaller level right now, but the fact that people will go that far, means people will figure out other ways and cheaper ways down the line. It's just a bad omen for me. People suck.
It really only matters at like places where you pick the packs yourself, most of the lgs in my area at least have the boxes behind the register and hand you packs, sometimes they let you pick but they won’t let you scan them
Same here, my lgs are super cool and seem to be about the community and having fun with all tcgs not just one piece. They open fresh boxes sometimes when the old ones are almost out and they think the hits are gone, and other things like that. I guess it just comes to trusting your community and places you get your stuff from
I don’t buy stuff anywhere but lgs , only singles sometimes off like tcg player but I don’t think this will cause an issue for me personally. I’m sure most people will agree. There will be a few bad apples that ruin it for some people but I’m more about opening packs for fun rather than hits. I’m old though lol
Another nice one. We never heard of this existing service. That's ugly man :( Imagine.. even the way of weigh Booster, Displays and Cases would have broken my heart as a kid. Btw. do you sell stuff on cardmarket?
@@TheCardCasual No. We just watched a video where a guy talked about this scanner while opening a case and weigh the packs. But it seems it doesn't work if there are many foiled cards, like in prb01. It's interesting to think about what the producers can do against those technics.
Ct scanning packs ruins all that’s fun in tcg, all the excitement of getting a new pack. The only way to overcome something like this is to sell packs that you know what you’re gonna get, like starter decks.
My group all decided the scanner was something we want nothing to do with. We would rather get the gamble thrill 😂. But I hope something is done about it, it sucks the joy out of buying. Although I’m gonna just stick to buying with my local stores and with the guy who runs our locals because he has a cardmarket store but is always happy to sell to us first. Also not enjoying this heatwave!! Can’t wait for the usual British cold weather 🤣
Yeah best to stay away from it mate haha I love the sun and the heat, but my house might be the hottest I've ever been in. Great in the winter, not so much in the summer haha
The argument for this - I'm guessing - is that it takes out the "gamble" of buying a pack not knowing if it's got a hit or just a bunch of vanillas. But the problem with it is that it will just lead to sellers cleaning out all the hits from a case, selling the dud packs at full market value, and then also selling all the good cards on top of this - is that about right? If so, then yeah it's obviously bad for the hobby - it allows people to effectively monopolise good cards and charge even more ridiculous prices for them.
Yeah but that's the whole point isn't it lol it's a gamble, otherwise just buy single you want, people aren't going to use this they will use it to make money, but knowingly fucking someone else over when they sell packs to someone else. So yes you're right 😅
@@TheCardCasual yeah exactly, it feels shitty when you buy a box and get an alt art Pica (happened to me on Sunday), but it's fair because anyone buying a box runs the risk that you end up regretting the decision. The point of the uncertainty is that you may just get a manga rare. If box scanning isn't combatted well, it could really end up creating a toxic reselling community why would I bother to open a random or pack when I know I could just scan it and sell it off for market value if there's nothing good in it.
Just like Pokémon I would do the same with one piece I would never buy loose packs only sealed boxes etc or sleeved packs . I mean look at Pokémon with fake booster boxes the scammers always find a way to ruin it for everyone
Let me know what you think about this in the comments below, should this be fine, or is it a joke that this exists?

Yeah an extra gamble now... Yay
Cases being mapped already makes buying boxes dicey, as they may come from cases that are known to be exhausted of big hits.
Yeah for real
Nice Bonney pull while ranting😂🎉
I love a rant 😂

Yeah facts, I don't trust any of them.
As if it wasn’t already expensive enough to get booster box’s now we you got a chance to pay 200 bucks for a dud box that has been xrayed
Looool right

@@TheCardCasual yeah it is and would probably raise the price of packs a bit
Yeah true

Agreed, it won't be a problem for me as I don't buy from random people, but might hurt the secondary market
and what if that trusted store is scanning them beforehand. Money let you do some crazy things if someone is desperate enough.
Its just very unlikely my LGS would scan all 30 cases of product of every set of every game they sell.

Haha yes 😂
