Fabulous! The "sweeping the fabric under" technique is a far better solution than what I've been doing (I've been pressing the edges under, starching and pressing again (it is an extremely time consuming, labor intensive approach). I WILL try your "sweeping under" technique; it looks fun and much more satisfying when appliqueing! Many thanks for this video. I'm headed to my sewing room to cut out motifs and background fabric to start practicing (I can't just sit and watch t.v. in the evening with my husband; I must have something to work on - I know a lot of you ladies feel the same way. It's the perfect time to hone my skills!). I absolutely Love Broderie Perse Quilts, and I'm getting ready to start my first one with vintage fabric images (1940's fabric of Alice in Wonderland). I can't wait to get started on it, but first, I MUST practice the "sweep the edges" technique. I do believe it will be fun. Many thanks again for taking the time to show us your Embroidery Perse technique. ❤
This is just BEAUTIFUL! Thank you for sharing!
Good tips! Thanks!
