    While researching Invisalign I was lucky enough to find your channel - and then have subsequently binge-watched much of your Invisalign journey! What an amazing transformation - not just in your smile but in your self-confidence, as well. Truly brilliant and inspirational. And then to find that you're also an awesome musician, singer and songwriter too is super-cool! I'm also a singer and songwriter considering orthodontic treatment. My dentist has told me that changing the shape of my teeth might alter my voice (feel a little worried he's trying to talk me out of orthodontic treatment which I've dreamt of having for years after experiencing similar self-consciousness and negative comments about my smile throughout my life). Can I ask you a question? Do you feel that your speaking voice and/or singing voice has changed at all since treatment? While you've mentioned lisping a little during treatment, I'd really appreciate your thoughts on how it has impacted on your voice (if at all). Please forgive me if this question has been asked before! Very best wishes and deep appreciation.

    • @CatGoneCrazy
      @CatGoneCrazy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Tonus Ten Hey - thanks for such a lovely comment :) And yes, I can certainly answer that. It is important to keep in mind that several big things happened in my life at once while this process was happening - namely becoming self-employed, spending more time outside, more time doing what I love and singing every day busking. I think you’ll agree my speaking voice has changed a little, but it’s in my vocal chords and how I’m using them, rather than any physiological change from my teeth being straightened. I don’t feel I have any residual lisp at all after the treatment, so I honestly believe Invisalign does not negatively impact your speaking or singing voice besides the weirdness of having to speak around two large-feeling pieces of plastic in your mouth. So I say get it with confidence - the human body is amazing at adapting. Not only will the lisp during treatment lessen very quickly, if there is anything amiss when it’s done, you’ll quickly learn to talk ‘around it’, in my opinion. Best of luck with it, and with your music too. Please keep in mind I don’t get notifications for replies, only new comments, so start a new comment if you have another question. Good luck! :)

    I'm curious about the refinement after the one year of treatment. Were your teeth not yet moved to the desired position? Or was it only for the goal of helping your gums? Also, could you elaborate a little bit about the situation with your gums?
    Thanks! 😊

    • @CatGoneCrazy
      @CatGoneCrazy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi - the refinement was primarily to ease the pressure on my gums by angling my teeth a little differently. This did indeed stop the gum recession, so I haven't any more problems so far, I'm pleased to say. However I do think my orthodontist wanted to reduce the overjet a little bit having seen how well the process had gone. I do think after the initial treatment, my teeth looked a bit 'big' in my mouth. I didn't actually finish the entirety of the refinement process as the diaries will show, but it was near enough and he made sure he was satisfied with my bite over a few visits before locking it in with the Vivera retainers.

    • @HarfelJ
      @HarfelJ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

And it’s funny because I used your pics as an example & my 1st consult also wanted me to have the same two teeth pulled as you! And I said no way! I will have a slight over jet as well! But the 2nd ortho actually told me to not pull the teeth because my genetics show me to have a smaller lower jaw and even with having two teeth pulled - unless I had jaw surgery - I would always have a slight over jet! If i can achieve your smile ill be cheering!!! There were other options to extract teeth but the extraction left me with too much room and thus, im worried itll shrink my jaw and overal appearance. Did you find it difficult to take them off of the front teeth before eating?

    • @CatGoneCrazy
      @CatGoneCrazy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It took a few weeks to see some movement. Each tray moves your teeth up to one third of a millimetre so it'll be some time before you notice a change. Don't forget, your orthodontist has a 'clincheck' animation that shows exactly how your teeth will look at every stage of the process, so just ask him/her if you can see it next time you have an appointment. I answered your other question when you asked it on the other video.

    • @CatGoneCrazy
      @CatGoneCrazy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Shan Hasan My overjet was worse in the weeks prior to finishing because the last few trays brought them back in. You should have seen your Clincheck animation beforehand so there really shouldn’t be any surprises. Ask to see it again, and if you’re still unsure, ask about further IPR and refinements. Or otherwise the alternative is pulling teeth to make room, and another two years’ treatment. That’s just what I’ve learned from all this, I must stress I am not a trained medical professional, so ask your orthodontist. But honestly it’s far more likely it’s just a case if getting worse before they get better. Only the final tray is meant to look finished. Look at my videos before I finished the first course of treatment, and even when I did. They were moved further back with refinement so it can be done if you’re unhappy.

    • @CatGoneCrazy
      @CatGoneCrazy  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m very sorry to hear that. What do you mean, not line up? Your jaw does need to retrain sometimes to have your bite further forward or back than it used to be, but making the bite meet properly is part of your orthodontist’s job, so it really should meet properly for eating. If your mouth is still crowded, it won’t meet fully front to back (like mine) but you should be able to chew properly, for sure.

    I love your smile simply amazing..I'm on my 22 tray, and I'm really finding it hard and challenging to say the least . I was already underweight for my height since wearing this inhave lost 10 pounds within the first two months of wearing the Invisalign. Again my jawline us very narrow so I am really hoping it will reshape my face. Hard to stay positive and motivated when you are not noticing the visable changes from the front of the mouth. I have 40 trays in total. Hoping I want exceed more then 10 months but he has already said that I will require refinements. I hope my results look as good as yours. Your uploads really help me stay with the program. Thank you

Obviously I suggest you see a GP about a healthy higher-calorie diet but a bit of cake is surely on the cards 😋 The visible changes will come soon, don’t worry! Stick at it :) And glad my videos are helping, just do what they say and the results will soon come. Good luck!

Mine was the upper end of that range as my teeth needed a lot of moving! You can get a free consultation, though, and they’ll give you a projected price. Cheers!

    I am 52 years old and have finally decided to do this for myself. My top teeth are pretty straight, but I had my front bottom tooth pulled out when I was 10...due to “potential” overcrowding. Found out when older it was cheaper pulling the tooth than getting braces...thanks mom. Now have a severely crooked tooth and gaps. I only wanted to do the bottom teeth, but to make sure my bite and everything aligns correctly will do top also. You are positive, funny, seem like a really nice guy, and your smile is beautiful. I watched all your videos and found them extremely informative and helpful. I’m not going to lie, I am still nervous about doing this, but thank you so much for taking the time to make and share your Invisalign journey.

    So i had braces for now almost 3 years got them removed yesterday and noticed a overjet that i didnt really like. I got an invisalign from my Doc. and i wanted to ask if it fixes and overjet as well or only straights out the teeth ? i thought my teeth are gonna look perfect tbh after 3years of wearing braces but im not really satisfied with the result. Maybe the invisalign fixes that who knows :D

    • @CatGoneCrazy
      @CatGoneCrazy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Invisalign could fix that but an overjet means overcrowding, so you’d probably either need IPR to file your teeth to be narrower, or to have some teeth removed to make room. As your orthodontist to see what your options are.

    Your teeth are straight, but your upper and lower teeth are still misaligned. Is that something that Invisalign is not able to correct? It's also disappointing that they did not correct your overbite. As I understand it, Invisalign is at least as expensive as braces. For that amount of money, I'd want my teeth to be perfect afterwards.

    • @CatGoneCrazy
      @CatGoneCrazy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Someone would need jaw surgery to achieve perfection, Rick, and that’s a step too far for me. I wasn’t chasing perfection, just to look OK. And besides, the whole reason a perfect face looks so freaky when drawn by a computer is that humans aren’t perfect, and when they are perfect, they look wrong. I wouldn’t want to dip into the uncanny valley. Would you really want that?

    Hi Justin! I'm in the very beginning of the journey hand in hand with visalign (haha, it's more like "v in my mouth", but well, hand in hand sounds more romantic). My previous orthodontist said to me that there is no way to get my teeth aligned without pulling out two of them, which I didn't want to do. And now, a year later I went to another doctor, who said that I can keep all my teeth but it'll take two years for me, even though my teeth are not that bad)))
    I'm gonna watch your diary, you inspire me a lot, I'm gonna need it!
    Thank you for all your videos and for telling your story to people!

    • @LiveRussian
      @LiveRussian 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for such quick reply. The thing is that they wanted to pull two upeer wisdom teeth so the rest could move faster, but if we're keeping them, they have to be moved as well. I'm okay with two years, it's nothing compared to the lifetime )) I have good vibes thanks to you and your story, Justin! Hi! I had IPL and attachments fitted and hating the little gaps!! How long did it take for your gaps to close up?? 😥

    • @CatGoneCrazy
      @CatGoneCrazy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there - the gaps are there for your teeth to be able to move, so now they need to do that. I'm afraid my IPR was done gradually - a little on each visit - so I didn't notice any gaps except one on my lower jaw. But yours will close up as soon as your teeth are moved. It's the end result you're after, so aim for that and accept that things will be imperfect until then. Good luck!
