Also Mr. Lordi was president of official Finnish Kiss fan club like 20 years, so theatrical stuff comes from that direction. There is also like actual horror movie where band members are the monsters etc... Also all suits and mask stuff is made by Mr. Lordi himself, he is selfmade prop expert.
I get it you don't like horror movies I'm the same but I love lordi and their costumes are so creative and can separate their act from and focus on the performance
I remember when they won the Eurovision Song Contest! The UK gave them 12 points (the highest possible)! Lordi led the record for highest point total given for years and it was the best Finland had done in the Eurovision for 40 years.
They're the type of band that could make me care to watch Eurovision. Think i've watched it 4 times and most songs are not songs i would put on, though alright in the background at others places.
Mr. Lordi is actually one of the warmest, friendliest and funniest frontmen I've ever seen live. They do not take themselves seriously and are very entertaining.
I have actually seen these guys perform live in a TINY venue, the stage is literally 20' across at its widest point. The crowd was right up at the front of the stage, no security, no barriers, nothing. There was maybe 200 people there at most and these guys come out in full costume with no set list and start singing songs requested from the audience. Hard Rock Hallelujah was the second song they did and let me just say the goosebumps I had the whole way through were intense. Hearing that sound coming out of them at such close proximity.... Hands down one of the coolest shows I have ever been to.
In Sweden we call it the voxpop effect after the viewer voted top list show. Every time there was a metal song it would go to number 1 because all the metal heads would make sure to vote even if it wasn't their style of metal and the people who were into pop would spread their votes across the other songs 😅
This was live on french television, the french journalist made some incredible mean and condescendant comments, the last one was "there never gonna win with that one" that's the moment I decided to vote x) These 2 journalists got a lot of backlash afterwards x)
Honestly, alot of people are freaked by their looks, which means they accomplished their goal lol. Thank you for reacting to this! I know it was hard for you but it was a fun reaction. Also, you sing beautifully!
React to more Eurovision stuff! There are some legendary songs that have come out of this competition.... and no worries, most of them are not sung by demons:P
Finland’s only winning entry in Eurovision, this song was catchy but undeniably Finnish. Also the backing vocals in the chorus make the song into an anthem, truly. For other Eurovision type stuff that is tamer, check out the woman who sang backing on nearly all of Britney Spears’ early hits (and many other artists as well) Nana Hedin. She’s featured on both E-type live performance of “Paradise” and her own solo performance of “Wherever You Go”, both at a series of concerts known as Melodifestivalen.
In my opinion, Finland delivers the best metal bands in the entire world. Thumbs up to Nightwish, Charon, The Rasmus, HIM...Finland is special! Greetings from Portugal.
As a blind musician I was laughing to myself as I watched this. And believe me it’s not out of any malice on my part. I was just wishing I had someone here that can tell me what was going on in the video. I am not able to see the artwork that comes with the albums or what people are doing on stage or in music videos. Anyway, I really enjoy your videos so thank you.
Haha basically they look like demons with rotting flesh. The main singer has a hat with the flag of Finland on it which is a nice touch considering they represented Finland and won that year. During the bridge of the song the main singer also grows wings which you probably heard from her reaction. Basically, Eurovision is awesome. Hi from Croatia🇭🇷
@@azaur7248 no no you can find videos of blind people explaining it - everything they touch on the phone every notification they get - the phone reads it out

Thank you for reacting to this.❤️ They are only Eurovision winners in my country. 🤟🏻🇫🇮 I often don’t like this style of music, but somehow I like this.😅
i think you'd like lots of other eurovision performances. if you're not familiar with eurovision, it's a singing competition that was started after world war 2 to reunite europe. the competition has expanded over the years and is more about love now, and celebrates lgbtq experiences, and includes many non european countries as well. kate miller heidke last year sang a pop opera dance song while controlling a pole she was standing on, 15 feet in the air. there's so many great ones! hope you're well tara.
Eurovision really pales in comparison to most established performers. Once in 5 years, maybe, there's something decent. Once in 20, something outstanding. It's a contest of song, not talent. The votes from musical critics are a joke, they drastically differ from what people choose to like.
That was the most entertaining performance I have seen in months. Definitely a fan! And, also, I feel you Tara, on getting scared easily. Lol. Luckily, I like being scared.
Tara, I’m with you, I do get easily scared and also had the same reaction as you did when I saw this video but seeing you watched it until the end gave courage to see it until the end. Thank you Tara you are very professional!
I think you should give your ears some soothing treatment by listening to Il Volo - Grande Amore (Italy) - LIVE at Eurovision 2015 Grand Final ... completely different experience and they are truly wonderful. I know you'll love them.
This was the last of the great Eurovisions! It was when I was at university and I was trashed at a Eurovision party dresses as Bucksfizz. And I remember nothing after 11.30pm and got home at 10.30am Such a good memory Tara, thanks for that
Basically, the contest had gone so stale over so many years that this was the middle finger and wake up call to the whole genre. There was to "qualifier" heats for the countries that were not on the list of "usual greats" and Lordi won their qualifier. I remember watching their performance and saying if they go through they will seamroller the competition and of course, they did. Musically I think the song is middle of the road and kind of a parody on the heavy metal genre but in the context of the Eurovision song contest it was explosive. Things changed mostly for the better after Lordi's win and that's why I'm a fan.

All that to say, I really appreciate you pushing through and watching the whole song, and appreciating what they did to make it happen and their quality. You rock! Try and watch "Berlieve Me" from Lordi aswell, it's an animated video clip with a disco-rock style. It won't be so hard to you. the animation include a more schematic version of their looks on stage, so if you're not scared of the ghosts in Scooby Doo, then you'll have to be OK with that videoclip.
In true Eurovision magic, some of the lead vocals she’s complimenting aren’t provided by the lead singer. Look for the guy in the monk cloak and Nixon mask. He’s doing the high falsetto work. Note that they never feature him.
They are since then my favourite band i love them so much they are so awesome on stage. When i was like 9 or 10 i could do the same pitch he does with hallelujah but thats long gone i love them i love them!! Your reaction is funny 😄😂🤣

Eurovision Song Contest(ESC) is an annual song contest including all European public broadcast TV stations and countries, and the TV show sends similar in all European countries. 2012 is the first year Finland won the contest, and also the first time hard rock was an item in the ESC. They made history that night. Usually, Englang, Ireland and Germany is the winners. Norway has won the contest 3 times, 1985, 1995 and 2009. The songs from 1985 and 1995 was written by the same man, Rolf Løvland, also responsible of the super hit "You raise me up" by Josh Groban. The ESC started back in 1960 where TV started family sendings in Europe. It gathers viewers and listeners all over the world, and also Australia have been bit by the ESC fever. You should react to more ESC stuff, many a little cliche as "pop songs", but many also very good. The movie "Eurovision, the story of Fire Saga" with Will Ferrel is a good parody of what ESC is for Europeans.
Great reaction! I'd love to see you reacting to some other eurovision performances. Céline Dion won actually for Switzerland in the 80's with "Ne partez pas sans mois".
