It's not just students or teachers or even schools for that matter, it's the system.. We don't have a education system, we have knowledge briefing system, where specifics of concepts are tossed out on student's and teacher's hands and to continue forward form there on. No idea where it originated from or where it is bound to go. Sng guys have covered it multiple times. There are no second chances, there are no alternative course of action, once you plan for something, better get into it even if you don't care about it anymore, because you can't move away from it without wasting a whole year or even more. My two bits - we need apprenticeships not internships or field training.
I am a student in Singapore. For the polytechnic diplomas here, one way to prevent cheating is to have online tests for the modules. To do this, the HOD for each module prepare a set of 60-80 questions that are like a question pool. Once thing is that they and the principal for that school are the only people who know what the questions are and where the question pool is kept/stored safely. And then every exam paper generated for each student taking that module will have the required 40 questions to make the 100 marks paper, generated in random order from the 80 question pool. Not only does this prevent cheating to almost 0 cases, but has also been a tried and tested method in universities in Singapore and south east asia.
You guys missed a major flaw in our system. The class system of the country is deeply ingrained in our education as well. I am studying abroad and my roommate is from IIT and he treats me like shit just because I'm not from IIT. The fear of failing a class is not as bad as the fear of being ostracized by your own and the fear of being "specially treated" by your teachers. Just because you didn't go to as good a college as them or you got a couple of marks less than them doesn't mean you should be treated any differently. For a country which is mediocre in every respect we sure as hell take academic merit too seriously.
You should probably ask your roommate ki tune iit mein jaake kya ukhada hai we've both ended up in the same place after all. But what you're saying is very true even when you step into college you're kinda judged by what school you came from too.
Hey guys I just wanted to tell you guys that during the podcasts don't try too hard to be funny. Let the podcast be free flow talk with spontaneous humour which is very genuine and certainly very funny. I listen to the podcast for different opinions from people who have different life experiences. Some humour can be very nice. Just guys don't try to force the punchline like in stand ups where it feels genuine but here it just doesn't click some times.😊
Was waiting since morning,ppl..plz post it soon.. Tuesday normally are so boring..its d only thing that we can look frwd too..plz come soon..next tuesday
Thanks a lot for addressing education! I am so passionate about education and feel so sad about the state of India's education system. Really liked Karan's two points - make something of your own from what you learned in class, and write your own question and answer - loved it! Just a small note - it's not "giving exams", the correct thing to say is "taking exams".
Even though this podcast didn't ring a bell with, apparently, more than half of your audience, it did for me. Got to learn some amazing view points, especially from Karan. So, thank you for that.
im in class 12 and i gave the Eco paper and in my class of 30 students at least 10-12 had the paper so just think about every single class in every school, there were so many people who had the paper, to the point parents who were waiting at the school gate after exam asked "same paper aaya ya nahi?" its a shame.
Thanks for this podcast! Well someone at least addressed the elephant in the room! Just a question - do you guys feel that to combat competition there should be more colleges and schools, and their levels must be bridged?
Do not laugh upon the idea of Google co-operating with Indian Police to track the leakers. They do have a responsibility to co-operate with the law of the land where they operate and make tons of profit from.
Thank you. NCeRT books aren't bad. They do update syllabus, maybe not that frequently but still the textbooks are good. No one really pays attention in school.
Hi guys, good job! I have written to you once before. I am from Bangalore, now a roboticist living in Sweden, final year PhD. Very nice podcast, lot of debates start, but not for kids I guess. I also teach AI for MS students. I just want to say few points after having studied in Sweden Germany USA and India: 1) the paper leak is not entirely a blame on system and pressure I feel. It is because in our fast city life parents don't educate kids, they're just forbidden and stopped from doing wrong by rules, shame or punishment. Education happens when a kid makes a mistake and then is taught morality by explaining and forgiving and then being a good example. Very very little importance is placed on this. 2) Sweden and Norway schools are no better than ours. We have way more capable and strong kids on average, coming out of Hugh school. So we and Singapore and China are doing something right. Next step is where we fail, it is Engineer or Doctor or you are useless to society. The engineers from here are better, yes because of application oriented learning, but mainly because those who are not cut out to be engineers are naturally falling out of the system to do various other jobs- quite happily. A bank teller makes way more than a software engineer here! 3) I think we should keep our way of learning overall. I have young cousins who go to GEAR international school which teaches to be all practical from grade 6- not needed! Maybe 11 12 a little is okay but not too much. Because if we keep doing practical all the time, we don't have time to be aware of many things. So when kids are immature they should be taught text book learning, but always encourage practical thinking. This equips them to wake up with strength when they are ready. Compared to Swedish kids our kids are way way better. Also do away with board exams, at least in cities - it is an antiquated concept. Better schools better syllabus better teachers leads to better students. That's how the world is supposed to be, colourful and of all shades. Then less paper leaks.. Lots more thought because I take educating seriously, but well, we aren't having coffee together... ;-)
Wow, I can clearly hear what each and every one of you guys has to say when Varun is not around. Thank you guys for a noise and interruption free podcast.
Open book exams in MBA are a great concept for giving 6 papers in 3 days. But they also make us so complacent about academics, that I now wonder how I cleared the CAT exam just one year ago without taking any books inside the hall .-.
ICSE 2009- 10th board exam- geography paper was leaked after the bank folks accidentally gave the invigilators the geography paper in place of history and civics exam paper
How has no one mentioned the Mumbai University engineering is beyond me?! For all those who don't know, in May/June of 2012 first year MU engineering students were in the midst of their second semester and 3 papers were leaked (Maths 2, Chemistry 2 and B.E.E 1 - KT paper). We gave retests without so much fuss! Don't know why so many protests are on!
Hi SNG great podcast i want to share this.. at 21:20 KT saying mske a project of what you learned in 3-4 years. I did engineering in and many of engineers bought ready made projects from the market. And got much better marks because of that. Its never ending never getting better. 😂 ❤ India
We don’t either don’t either get educated in basic life skills. And we have had discussion about it. And Norway or Sweden doesn’t have the “best” education system, we have a lot of problems in our education system. Yes it’s better than India but still it’s not the best. Teachers here are so into following the book and what they have to teach and end of the day everything is so repetitive I have had teacher who has used the same test paper for years.
HI, SNG! Another great video! A lot of stupid people seem to be putting up a lot of stupid comments (I just read a few of them below), but please don't pay attention. You're doing a great job, and, in my opinion, The Big Question is just brilliant. Do keep doing what you're doing. Waiting eagerly for the next video!
Also for all those who think only one paper for class 12 leaked, nope i can say that the Bst, Accounts, Maths and Eco as everyone knows and even the Bio paper had leaked. Some students even had the Physics and Chemistry paper. But most of these leaks were widespread
Just curious... Aadar mentioned Pu La Deshpande. Do you guys knw who he is ? Or is it just a coincidence that it's coming frm a comedians mouth. Just curious.
The worst thing about this leak are 1) Class X students who don't want to take maths in high school have to still wait, because of exam. 2) Class XII last paper was economics and students were so happy ki exam and school life dono hogaya, and again they have to wait for this shit. Also other stream people are laughing at students. Even though it is not students' fault. As if it was these students mistake. All these while people, parents, teachers used to tell us not to fail and made effort for it, but then this system failed so badly. PS- I'm Cbse student who is suffering from this thing.
But students leaked it among themselves and some students come to Delhi from Haryana. And papers always leak in Delhi. So I think it is right that others were not affected.
Becoming a therapist needs 7 years of education and yes they do have to clear the entrance for MPhil which gives them licence to practice. So ya it needs hard work.
I've studied in ICSE and there was actually a leak. It was in 2010 I think, 10th std environment science paper was leaked and students had to reappear for the exam.
Why is the audio still terrible? I am using earphones to listen clearly. You guys should not move away from the mikes at all. Don't lean back. Lean forward...
There are people who have got 2nd chance to not to fail, like you people said "board main hugg dia toh life main hugg dia" then is it really a question of Summer vacation, life is on the line ....
In germany, for a few courses, you decide your own questions and then write the answers to them. You fail if you write really bad content or plagiarise.
Heard of open book exams? Or exams allowing for 1/2 page cheatsheets? Let students have access to such resources in exams (in class without internet/electronic media) and have exam papers that really test student understanding of the subject, not whether the student knows a formula without understanding what it really means. The challenge is have teachers capable of teaching and imparting that type of knowledge.

How How How can you still screw with the sound with so many Mics.
Aadar ki awaaz hee aisi hai :P
Your Survival tips aadar the one who is the most audible.

"They want us to conform and yet stand out"
Hi brother..
Your sound engineer definitely cheated in his exams.
It's not just students or teachers or even schools for that matter, it's the system..
We don't have a education system, we have knowledge briefing system, where specifics of concepts are tossed out on student's and teacher's hands and to continue forward form there on.

Karan : Varun ke bina bhi podcast ho sakta hai... Chuppp!
Trolls be like : Jaa be Takle!
Haha! I equally enjoy Talwar's participation man.
Tanmay Setia Me too bro. Just a joke. But Thakur effect can't be ignored.
Guys, they "leaked" their video. It was to mock the CBSE leak. That was the JOKE.
haha taking a while for people to figure isn't it? ;)

hear hear
You should probably ask your roommate ki tune iit mein jaake kya ukhada hai we've both ended up in the same place after all. But what you're saying is very true even when you step into college you're kinda judged by what school you came from too.
So true man
Karnataka chemistry state paper in 2016 was leaked 2 times two retest! No big news on that!
Aadar dropped PuLa Deshpande's name.👍👍👍
'cheating is the symptom, not the disease'..Kautuk says some really amazing things
KT! You've said the same story multiple times. The major and the Marathi exam one.
But seriously, bring back Varun!
Hey guys I just wanted to tell you guys that during the podcasts don't try too hard to be funny. Let the podcast be free flow talk with spontaneous humour which is very genuine and certainly very funny.

Rahul Sahay you forget it is a comedic sense of podcast. They're not school faculty or health groups.

Please do "WTF is Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma" next and if possible do it with Manan Desai...Please
call arijit singh and discuss about fixing mic.
The sound is again screwed upp! it was great the last week thought.. please fix it
I honestly really love the way Karan speaks. So brilliantly well-read, and very well-spoken. Comes across as a cool guy, too.
True! He's hilarious and intelligent. Also, his annoyance with the system and funny take on Indianism is so apparent! :P
Even though this podcast didn't ring a bell with, apparently, more than half of your audience, it did for me. Got to learn some amazing view points, especially from Karan. So, thank you for that.
What you need is sound absorber in your studio (like sponges) not just high-tech mics
why was the first video deleted?
Why was this pulled down in the morning ? Nation wants to know !!!!
Moin shariff audio wasn't synced
thanks brother :D
The theme of the podcast was leaking of paper. So they leaked the podacst early to give more realistic feeling.
Woh leaked tha.. 😂😂

What's with the volume? Didn't you fix it recently?
yeah apparently new audio recording equipment and yet all this! hope they take note.
With time i have started liking KT a lot, given his knowledge, insight and understanding.
Just FYI, CBSE maths book, does tell why the derivative of x^2 is 2x. It's just that no one pays attention to it.
Nandika Kalra True .. NCERT are written brilliantly but it takes a special attention to understand it.
Thank you. NCeRT books aren't bad. They do update syllabus, maybe not that frequently but still the textbooks are good. No one really pays attention in school.

this was one of the best podcast of 2k18
How can the sound be so low with many mics???
Are cbse me har region ka alag paper hota hai.. delhi region ka hi leak hua tha thats why the resham is happening only there

This podcast was something meaningful...nice job gyz👍👍....and i wonder how i watched it till last even after knowing that varun isn't there...😅😅
will there ever be a big question with high volume in the audio?
Guys this podcast is cool but there should be CBSE pass-out to discuss this bcoz he would know the insights.
19:45..... Ooooohhhh some deep shit! Absolutely true.
Hi SNG great podcast i want to share this.. at 21:20 KT saying mske a project of what you learned in 3-4 years. I did engineering in and many of engineers bought ready made projects from the market. And got much better marks because of that. Its never ending never getting better. 😂 ❤ India

Also a student from general category, nothing will come to my way, I'll have to find my own way.
What content is removed while reuploading?
Varun
nice podcast... funny with insight.
Another consideration no good collage takes CBSE board marks and instead we have to do a different syllabus for the entrance exam's
But students leaked it among themselves and some students come to Delhi from Haryana. And papers always leak in Delhi. So I think it is right that others were not affected.
Are your microphones just for show or do they really work? xD
How is the volume low even with these mics
Becoming a therapist needs 7 years of education and yes they do have to clear the entrance for MPhil which gives them licence to practice. So ya it needs hard work.
I hope the people heading the Boards are taking notes.
I've studied in ICSE and there was actually a leak. It was in 2010 I think, 10th std environment science paper was leaked and students had to reappear for the exam.
Please make a podcast about health
It would be very helpful in today's time
Sound is still messed up..
Audio ne hag diya wapas.... Got to love the consistency!!
It will be great if you can do a video about c.a also.
The big question is why did you take it down?
Why is the audio still terrible? I am using earphones to listen clearly. You guys should not move away from the mikes at all. Don't lean back. Lean forward...
And Kautuk is killing it with the puns
Really good topic , improvement on the CID one ; Karan's presence is necessary I think.....Many points to be covered though.
Where is the new video
During my 10th boards algebra paper, the supervisor happened to be my Drawing teacher.... I scored 149/150....expected 150/150 though...
Adar couldn't recover from The Doom joke for sometime XD
I thought Karan was proficient in english, but only up to the moment when he said, " My sister had "GIVEN" her exam"- 24:20
Stop with the complaints about sound or Varun not being there
Instead this is the most logical video the younger generation should watch and learn

That PL Deshpande joke was great.

Why did I get a Cello pens and stationery ad before this video?
Varun kuthe aahe re?
gone for susu

I think they should hold the mic like they used to before.
SSC aur HSC ka papers toh kitna leak hota hai!
Varun you were missed, to be sure! But this was an amazing podcast
SNG NEXT QUESTION
WTF is himesh reshammiya's movie?
It’s cool for this question
A podcast about CBSE and not one of you is from CBSE
Mics not workin?!
was ur video leaked??
i have my paper tomorrow and am watching THIS....FUKK IM FAILING!
haha have a test tomorrow and i haven't watched this yet but scrolling through comments. yeah that idle.
Not audible guys.. 😕
Whoever leaked the maths paper in class 10 is not going to study maths in high school, they probably hate maths and just want to pass.
