That's not new, Samsung has always had many more features than stock Android. One thing that comes to mind is "long screenshots", Samsung had that for years before it made it's way to stock Android. And for years it worked better than the current stock Android implementation that sometimes doesn't work properly.

that bixby vision scanning text works also in gallery so you dont have to have the widget, just open the gallery and hold the text on the image. Also the translation on camera works in google translate for several years already.

My S22 Ultra's battery life is better now after I did update one ui 5.1. It showed me to stay 4 days and 12 hours at 84% battery and it is unbelievable.

The perks are nice but One UI is missing basic functionality settings (like the ability to vertically scroll the app drawer and loop the home screens). The car might have a great sound system but the engine needs work.
I installed Microsoft Launcher just so I can loop the home screen. It will also let you scroll horizontally or vertically in the app drawer. You have to turn off the news feed in order to loop the home screen...
The photo cropping is only on the s23 devices unfortunately - Edit: at time of launch it was only on S23 devices, since people want to comment a year later lol

My S22 Ultra with One UI 5.1 doesn't have the crop feature in the gallery. It doesn't crop out the subject when I tap and hold. Do I need to turn it on in the settings or what??

Should be mention that all function does not come on all Samsung. Samsung A32 4G does not have Bixby and only gets the Battery widgets and control of the notifications.
The settings depend on the Samsung galaxy phone right? Most of these re not on my A72 phone. I got the update today. Not much difference 😤😤😤😤 although it added the maintenance mode which was not there before 👍

Yet all they provide is just camera and less hardware features. Obviously if snapdragon was rootable all these features would have been available while ago.
Fair point, but losing those features is an inevitable fate.. "all" mainstream phones have gone this direction and unless you plan to never upgrade again, you need to look away from those legacy features and look to current day software offerings.

The photo cropping feature is a cool idea but in practice it usually grabs everything in the foreground instead of just the object I hold on.

I use an a52s and it's always the last to get an update. Midrange and lower end devices arent exactly made to have all the features.
