    just before watching this video, a short appeared in my fyp in which a man was doing disgusting gestures towards a woman in public transport and she recorded and posted it as evidence that how she encountered this situation and what many women go through, but still a guy was giving justification of that man by saying "that guy is just a paid actor, u prolly asked him to do those gestures" like wow the audacity of men to never accept that how much men do wrong to women whenever they get a chance, there was another video I watched few days ago in which a woman was shouting on a guy for groping her and men were still saying "she needs to calm tf down", some men were even spamming R word in comments against that girl and called her women ☕ for standing up against that guy, these are the same men who would talk against women who actually give consent but at the same time they leave their houses only with intention of groping women just to check if she is easy going who gets impressed so they proceed with their ill intentions, but when a girl starts to make sound she is still blamed for standing up against it

    Rape is rape. It's evil. Whether rapists are men or women. Things I disagree with saying not all men but always a men. Men rape cases always get ignored by everyone including police, society, and politicians. For the equal part, we are not even the same thing. it's like comparing a cow with a bull. No one is beneath anyone and both have their own place in the world. I am scared of talking to women and unable to get over this fear cause of the extreme abuse done to me by my mother. I respect women and men both but trying to talk to women is still a scary thing for me. I heard on a video where a rapist/pedophile said, if women have a strong father, brother, and male friends then he will not go near her. For daughters, go out with your father. For wives, go out with your husband. For sisters, go out with your brothers. This will not just keep you safe but also tell that you are considering them part of your trust circle. Make men strong and this can stop. We should talk about fake rape cases. Also talks about women harassing an another women. Also, women raping women.

    • @diablow1411
      @diablow1411 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      Sorry to hear what you've gone through because of your mother mistreating you.
      But now, that should help you realize women who get mistreated by their fathers, their brothers, their extended family members, their male coworkers and superiors... and imagine their fear now. And the atrocities that have made the news with Kolkata and Badlapur have just worsened their fear, and it wouldn't be wrong to say "always a man" because, let's be honest, out of a 100 of such cases which manage to get reported, more than 95 of these are committed by men.
      All I'm asking is to put yourself in their shoes to realize the point, which will make it easier with your trauma (hopefully). It's not the time to trivialize the issue for your personal point, but to understand what causes such crimes, and what can be done to prevent them from happening again. The hospital incident should be something to introspect the society.

    People don't understand when we say 'Not all men, but always a man'. Firstly, when we talk about abuse on women, we didn't start saying 'all men do this', we talked about 'men' as there's a large amount of people who do this. And it's not just about rape, but the little things that we face every single day like those creepy glances and unwanted touches in public and in a lot of cases, these kind of things come from family members themselves. So we don't really know whom to trust properly. We have to keep our guards high cause almost every woman has faced some kind of harassment or the other and we don't know who are the good ones and who won't be faking it. I'm not saying that the women who blame "all men" are correct, it's definitely not all men and women too can be perpetrators, it's just we see whose cases are higher. It's a psychological fear that sits on us. So even if a man may not understand what we want to say, you can be sympathetic. We don't have similar experiences (in the larger picture) but we still can be empathetic to each other and try to understand where almost 50% of the population is coming from.

But they always need constant ego massage and the need to feel superior by asserting 'Women(with a laugh)' or 'she won't be able to do this work,etc.' But once they find women in isolated places or away from their society , they find the opportunity to commit atrocities against women. I get why people say 'not all men but always a man,' and it’s true that we need to tackle the serious problem of violence and harassment. But let’s be real... blaming all men for the actions of some doesn’t help anyone. It just creates more division and pushes away those who genuinely want to help make a difference.
    Instead of pointing fingers at an entire gender, why not focus on how we can all work together to make things better? The truth is, we need everyone... men included to stand up against violence and support those who’ve been affected. Creating change isn’t about tearing people down, it’s about building a better world together.
    Even though It's true that statistically, many of these terrible acts are committed by men, and that's a reality we need to face. But here's the thing when we frame it as 'always a man,' it can feel like we're painting all men with the same brush, even the ones who are actively working to combat this behavior.If the goal is to create a safer society, we need to bring more people into the conversation, not push them away. The focus should be on holding those accountable who actually commit these acts, while also encouraging and supporting those who are allies in this fight. Blaming all men doesn’t solve the problem but it just creates more division, and that’s not going to get us anywhere. Let’s direct our energy toward real solutions and keep the conversation open. We can call out bad behavior without assuming every man is a potential threat.
    So yeah, let’s call out the bad behavior when we see it, but let’s also recognize that not every man is the enemy. We’re all in this together, and we’ll only make progress if we stop blaming and start working side by side.

    You can't solve rape with more and more brutal punishment. Why do I think that? Cuz I suspect that most rapist either don't think they'll get caught or they just don't care. They don't care or feel what they're putting the woman through.
    So a better alternative is education and culture. Not teaching maths and science(not that that's not important) but rather teaching social behavior. How NOT to behave with the opposite gender. What is NOT acceptable behavior and WHY. If you teach them that thoroughly as teenagers, it is more likely that they will end up being decent human beings.

    Good video, straight to the point and well balance. I also really appreciate that you mentioned fake/false rape cases as well.
    There are a few things I would like to add:
    1) Rapist under the use of drugs/alcohol: There is an increase in the usage of drugs/alcohol in India, especially in Tamil Nadu with their stupid TASMAC. This will definitely affect the person to commit crimes even rape.
    2) Religious and inter-caste related violence: Love Jihad, and lower cast men targeting Brahmin girls. This is something that is happening in Tamil Nadu and Kerala and needs to get more attention. We need to do more to stop these kind of genocide.
    3) Corruption and People of power/money are getting away with any form of crime including rape.
    4) More function CCTV in public spaces and people need to start installing door security camera on their doorstep. This will definitely reduce any form of crime.
    5) More Police officers. USA has more police per population than India and crimes need to be recorded digitally.

    @Off Angle by Aaditya Iyengar
    I was absolutely stunned when I learned the statistics in India-a rape occurs every 16 minutes. I was truly shocked. Equally disturbing was hearing about the prevalence of female infanticide. It’s hard to ignore the conclusion, though some may disagree, that this is deeply rooted in the cultural norms of India, where women are often seen as the property of men and considered inferior. This dynamic fosters the dominance that many men in India exert over women. It’s a cultural issue and one that will be difficult to dismantle.
    In my experience studying the Indian community, while there are many remarkable aspects of India and its people, the persistence of the caste system (which is often claimed to no longer exist) and the blatant disrespect towards women-sometimes even deciding at birth whether they should live-suggests that India is still grappling with its colonial and cultural history. It has yet to fully embrace a future where women are seen not as possessions, but as equals and partners.

    Sure Rape jokes are offensive but to say that they are one of the causes of assaults is unheard of . I truly believe there is a deeper problem in our society as even today subjects related to sex are considered taboo . And it all comes down to the education system as well, as you mentioned the differential between boys and girls in school ,I could not really relate to that as in schools I've studied , had no such problems, which again shows the disparity in the type of education different people go through , most bad a few good . So again its a much deeper problem than jokes . I believe the problem lies in the content we watch , porn usage( India has always been one of the top consumers) Lack of discussion among with parents/adults , old oppressive "Traditions" and like you said Victim blaming or " Taali ek haath se nahi bachti"

If a Rape Happens i am ready to take stand for women but not if you will call me Rapist ,there are 1000s of Men protesting for Victim when women say "All men " it includes them too and thats the problem if they will keep spewing venom against men the number of such men will keep Decreasing ,like you can notice something Similar to this
    Earlier if women used to accuse someone people used to support her but now as no of Fake cases are increasing people have stopped blindly supporting women and now ask for proof or want to listen to other side too ,so now if a woman is saying truth but she don't have any proof no one will support her which wasn't case Earlier
    Same will happen if women will keep Abusing men and all other things like Abusing laws ,playing victim card and all some men who are now helping will stop too cause no one wants to be called as Rapist being uncomfortable because of a Stranger isn't wrong even men can feel it but when your whole twitter and Insta account is filled with announcing how all men are Rapist or how only men commit crimes its not right then and we can't empathize with you then

    When rapes happen it shows the failure of society. It shows that we couldn't able to civilise some humans who are a specie of animal kingdom.
    I agree that many bollywood indirectly encourages rape culture. Also, in co-ed schools boys and girls are treated as different species and hardly interact with each other. You said "Not all men rape but all rapists are men" that is true but do you know why do men have to say that "Not all men rape"? Because men are being generalised as rapist or a potential rapist. Although, it is very painful and traumatic for women who are victims of rape and molestation but shaming all men and making all men feel guilty of rape is not a good way to protest or raise a voice. As I have mentioned that it is social problem but we both men and women work together to correct this. I have noticed in my personal experience women generally don't want to interact with men even if those men behave nicely. For men to accept women as a fellow human being not an object of desire women must also open up and make interactions with men just like they do with their female friends. Just like you asked men to empathise with women issues, women should also empathise with men issues and what they have to go through in their daily life even though men issues may seem futile but good communication and interaction can only happen when both the genders empathise with each other. Just like you I may be wrong in some of my words but I also want a safe world for women.

      @@IyengarAaditya I disagree that all men are complacent and do nothing to help women and understand their perspective. The moment we say "All men" we are generalising. There are muslim terrorists who kill innocent people. If going by your logic then we should say "All muslims" but you know that would be generalising all muslims as terrorists. If you see the ongoing nationwide protests you can see the large number of men in the rallies. There are men who're leading the protest and fighting for justice. Rape, murder, corruption and all sorts of evil are a result of a failed societal system and society includes all gender. Those rapists and murderers are the representation of our society. Guilt-trapping one gender and putting blame on one gender is not going to help much. It may create more divide. Many men don't want patriarchal system. Many don't want to be ultra-masculine to get a women's attention. But the reality is women are encouraging the patriarchy and desire for those 'alpha males'. It is the responsibility of all genders to work together to build a better world not blaming one gender and hold only one gender accountable.

    Social crime will never stop even if you fix everything you are mentioning here. Human mind is complex and you will surprise to know many hineaous acts committed by so called civilized and educated families bcz even if everything is done there always be many twisted ones lurking around us. Only two things can be and must be done:
    1. The judiciary and police need to be fixed. People trying to save the culprits should be identified and punished extremely.
    2. As a community we need to stop turning our eyes in the other direction when we see a woman getting harrassed, molested or teased. We can not be everywhere to save them, but wherever we are ,we can make it comfortable and secure for them.
