How very refreshing the visit to Thailand is ! Thank you a lot for this presentation by your Channel which has almost fulfilled 50% of our desires to visit the important beautiful tourist places in Thailand. Wish you all the best .
I can’t seem to find this over video you talk about. Great spots by the way. Been to thailand many times but this trip will be the first one with my family
Hey, thanks for watching. Yeah, I’m sorry, the other video isn’t up yet. We have another 10-12 videos from Thailand that are coming still but they take a while to edit. The one on traveling to Thailand with kids is coming in the next few weeks!
That’s great, you’re going to love it! I don’t remember exactly how much it was, but his WhatsApp number is in the video description, and if you reach out to him and tell him you got his number from my video, he’ll give you a great price. He’s hooked up a bunch of my subscribers :)
We are planning a trip to Thailand in Jan. We have 4 kids. How do you suggest we get around BangKok with the 6 of us? We are planning on renting a car in Chiang Mai but I'm sure if we can get a car big enough and will still travel some of those roads you went on. Thanks for any tips you can give us. Love you videos.
Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, renting and driving your own car is quite a bit easier in Chiang Mai. You can use Grab (like Uber) to just get around trip by trip, but we just hired a driver to take us around Bangkok. It was much more economical that way. Here’s our driver’s info if you want to use him too. You can just send him a text message on WhatsApp (which is a texting app that most of the world uses instead of regular text messaging). Love the ending, very funny! Shame you didn't contact my company (Trunk Travel) as we could have recommended many other (better!) things to do in Bangkok. Lived here 15 years, two children (10 & 5) and our company specialises in ethical, cultural and fun activities in Thailand. Next time, maybe! Good luck and great vid.
Hey Stephen, thanks for the comment. I’d love it if you would add to the discussion. What kind of things would you suggest are better for families to do?
That’s awesome that you’re getting to go! We didn’t really have an itinerary exactly because we were there for 2 months. We spent most of our time in and around Chiang Mai, we spent a week in Bangkok, a week in Koh Samui, and a few days in Chiang Rai. If you watch the videos in our Thailand Playlist (th-cam.com/play/PLe56i8ZhhO6Sf_u0Vzdb92jH5smPxtvvo.html&si=OhvC0RNBWAPD4xWA) you’ll get a good idea of what all we did in all of those places. If it were me, I would spend 4-5 days each in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and one of the beach destinations in the south. It’s very easy and affordable to fly to most places in Thailand once you’re in country.
Our kids loved it! They enjoyed seeing the cool buildings, weird bugs and different flowers in the unique landscaping of the temples. It prompted a lot of good family conversations.
That's really great to know, thank you! I have heard many suggestions since posting this video, but haven't heard of that park yet. The photos look beautiful.
We decided not to include prices because exchange rates and everything can shift so fast, and so much of the prices are based on bartering. I would suggest reaching out to our drive Wichain to get a price. His contact info is in the description.
That’s great! Wichain can probably tell you better what to see, but personally I would spend one day seeing as much as possible in the city: Wat Pho, Wat Phra Kaew and the Grand Palace, Wat Arun, and maybe the King Power Mahanakon. Then on day 2 I’d see something a bit outside of the city like one of the floating markets and maybe the train market (more of a cultural experience), or Ayutthaya (more of a historical experience). Hope you enjoy it! Let me know how it was after you go.
First thing i’m doing is going to a mall (yes i’m a teen but we’ve lived SOO long in ko phangan like 3 years and it’s 30 min to the over side of the island and it’s really boring)
That's great! The mall in Koh Samui was actually really great. I love malls too. It must be incredible to live in Ko Phangan, even if it is a little boring at times.
We stayed in an air b&b just down the street from Terminal 21. It was a great place for our family and a fantastic host. Here’s the link: abnb.me/6xm3tWBHlub For car seats, we purchased these travel ones that were super helpful! amzn.to/3gvd812 Check back soon….we will post another video on tips for traveling to Thailand with a family!
@@YaleWall Thank you. Those won’t work with my daughter as she is a small 2 year old. How did you get around what transportations. Do you recommend bringing a full size car seat for her
We mostly took Grab cars in Thailand, which is like their version of Uber, and rented a car while we were in Chiang Mai. The train in Bangkok is also a viable option, but it won’t get you everywhere you need to go without a good amount of walking. We actually didn’t see a single other person for the 2 months we were in Thailand who had a car seat of any kind at all - it’s just not a thing in their culture. If you want to bring a full car seat, you can, but it’s going to be a strange thing to most drivers. Even our little booster seats for our 4 and 6 year olds raised a bunch of eyebrows and even seemed a little offense to some, like we didn’t trust their driving. For shorter trips we ended up just holding our kids on our laps. I would very much suggest talking to a private driver and booking them ahead of time for the time you’ll be there if you plan on bringing a car seat - or even if you don’t :). The driver we had while we were there, Wichain, is an incredible guy and would ensure the trip is very safe. You can contact him ahead of time on the WhatsApp app. His number is: +66 85 766 9917. I would actually suggest staying in an AirBNB… you can get a really incredible place for a very affordable amount with an AirBNB. Here’s where we stayed: abnb.me/jWbn2YEV5Bb
Hi! I’d like to know if you can make a recommendation for places to eat in BKK, that may serve food, which doesn’t have a speck of Spiciness? Cause my kids don’t like spicy foods. And according to some people, even if you inform them not to add peppery ingredients, they still serve it with chillis. So, I’d like to know which places in Bangkok, (not in the malls) provide food options that are not spicy “at aLL.” Many Thanks!😊
Hey, thanks for watching and commenting! I don't know of any specific places that will 100% be spice free, but in general, if you go to a sit down restaurant you are more likely to get custom orders like that. The reason that most meals will still be spicy even if you ask for no spice isn't because they are rude or don't listen, its because much of the food is prepared in advance and the base of the meal already has spice in it, so even if they don't add more, the deed has been done. In general, stay away from street food, or from places like food courts that prepare things quickly. Also, it would help you to have an English speaker with you to have some of those conversations for you, so you make sure they understand what you are needing. If you are looking for a driver who speaks English, I would highly suggest our friend Wichain. You can send him a message on What's App to 085-766-9917.
