    Very nice. Full of history.

Some extraordinary sights. Do you ever come across small in situ deposits where you can see veins in place! I’ve never actually seen galena like that, before the lead or fluorite was worked out. It must have been quite something to see!

Yes, we do, but often do not show them, unless in very remote mines due to people wanting to come and destroy the vein :(

The early miners _and_ their workings are jointly referred to as 'The Old Man' in North Yorkshire tradition I believe.

What a workout boys. Mine reminds me more of a cave..

Ya, good little workout. All wet mines will grow such features over time.

Gagh! Some truly claustrophobia inducing moments there!

Funny thing is I suffered from claustrophobia before doing mine exploring. If you don't like tight spaces, you'll cringe at the next video ;)

@@UKAbandonedMineExplores It's the crawls that lead to a dead end, with someone behind you that are the worst! The chapter Earldelving in Alan Garner's The Weirdstone of Brisingamen nearly has me in tears with horror every time I read it (set in the West Mine on Alderley Edge)
I'll look forward to next week, then. I shall be watching in sunny Sunderland!

I have a great fear of heights, especially when there are steep drops beside me but, since starting mountain walking, I'm slowly conquering it! 😊 Another great, colourful and yes, very claustrophobic mine! Well done to you all.

Ooh, not far from me. Yes, had that happen, ya just wiggle backwards, if guy behind doesn't shift, the release of gases from last night's curry will incentivies ;)

Yup, sometimes I still get vertigo near shafts. Funny that because we will be going up and down shafts in some upcoming videos :)

A camel eh? Certainly no cow to be seen🤣 amazing to think the earlier workings were picked out by people who probably looked like Baldrick from Blackadder!

Yep, we think we know where it might be, you'll notice we didn't enter certain sections, but that maybe answered in a future video ;) Actually, people in the 1400s were shorter due to diet.
