If you have heard him sing you already know how good he is. But, if you haven't heard from him, listen to Mo Pitney singing Mel Street's "Borrowed Angel."
*You don't hear this music on the radio anymore so I came here to get my younger years back I'm 66 yrs old thanks to everyone that is listening to these oldies but goodies ✨😊*
I'm 34 an listening thanks to my papaw and my little granny helping my daddy to raising me. Brings me so many many cherished memories and I'd give anything to have them back with me to make many more. Sometimes feel I'm losing my mind worth them not here.
Radio station a.m. 650 still plays all these great old songs and on Friday and Saturday nights they play the grand ole opry. Enjoy the memories, that’s all some of us have left of these good ole days.
When this song was popular, my parents owned a bar in a small farming town, and if I heard this song once a day, it was a VERY slow business day. I remember being willing to pay to NEVER hear this song again before I was 20; now, at the age of 58, all I have to do is think of the title, and some of the best memories all come flooding back in an instant. Let it be a lesson to all that you never know what your favorite memories will be while you’re busy making them.
Thanks for this comment, you make a good point. I first heard this song in Boston, on an Album Oriented Rock station. Not their normal cup of tea, but the morning drive dj thought the song was priceless wanted to share it. It reminded me of the small farming town that I was from.
I remember David Allen Coe You never call me by my name, whenever that song was played at our bar everybody would sing it loud and proud!!! Your absolutely right, the memories I have are so great to look back on!!! Many years of being a biker and just riding drinking and having fun!!! Wish I could go back and do it all over again!!!
@@kansas3332 It’s not on the charts, is it? In fact, I don’t hear it on radio any longer, commercial or Sirius. The point of my comment is that 40 years puts a different perspective on how you think about your life.
@@LTJC70 I wouldn’t want to go back necessarily; where I was once young and impressionable, now I’m older and much less malleable. In fact, the older me would hurt himself laughing at the younger me!
This was my life in the old days thank God it ain't no more. My wife will verify that I couldn't handle this again, so I'm glad God give me a chance to change my life and quit all the stupid things I used to do. So anybody that live this kind of life I hope they have a chance to change thank you God
Really??you are going to come into the comments section of this classic tune and pray for the rest of us to clean up? Jesus, some folks have no tact. Have a drink. U were prob less of an ass hole.
I wasn't a wino-I was more beer and liquor man. I was a functioning alcoholic. I quit Christmas Eve 1981 because of a sacred promise to a 6 year old little girl I latter adopted. I married her mother January 28, 1982 and we were together until my wife passed away September 18, 2017 from a stroke. I am happy to say I have never relapsed even when my wife died.
This song always reminded me of my cousin and his wife he would get so drunk he beat his kids and wife and do some drunk driving went to jail for it and nearly lost his job they divorced and he died of a heart attack the kids are grown up and his wife married another man
Not sure if anyone will see this 15 years later but this was one of my grandfathers favorite songs. He always said he wanted this played at his funeral and well that time finally came. I’ve been listening to a lot of those songs lately and this is one that will always get me
Every time i heard this song my dad sang along with it!he has passed away now but it still feels like hes here when i hear this song!Love you always dad ! Your gone but not forgotten!
Music like this simply couldn’t be produced anymore because the music industry and society as a whole has gone downhill too much. All that can be done now is to just appreciate the good memories.
