I remember when I was a kid, I saw a guy drive into an intersection, then stop smack dab in the middle of it because the light had turned red before he reached the other side. Then he sat there with everyone honking at him until it went green again, wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it with my own eyes.
Every so often I see some geezer either do this or come to a dead stop on a fully separated right turn lane, looking head out of the window at the lights on an adjacent intersection.
Bigoted olden crashed into me. Called Police saying I had no licence and even asked to see my licence. Told her to ring police. They came checked everything. Took her insurance number and said now am gonna show u my licence don't worry. Don't be Bigoted u old shed
First few weeks after passing my test i was nervous and made several mistakes. I am very patient with other drivers now as i know good driving comes with time.
I reckon we need a little secondary horn, that makes a gentle little “meep” sound to politely remind people they’ve missed the green light… I always feel so rude hitting the horn - it just sounds to me like I’m saying “GET OUT OF THE F@&£ING WAY!!!” When in reality I just want it to sound like Hugh Grant saying, “erm, well sir, if you ahhh, wouldn’t mind awfully, erm, could you just scoot, a little bit”… I’d call it the “Cute Toot”… I think I’m gonna start a Gofundme and make it happen

I always go for a quick double beep. I've found its least "I'm pissed at you" sound I can make it give and as long as I tend to look happy when I do it, Its usually a quick hand up to say sorry and drive on from the car in front when I do. A simple beep however seems to have something ominous to it 😅
I've had 3.5 hours of lessons, but had knowledge of cars prior so was straight on the road so to speak. And I'm already more worried about other drivers than my own decision making.

I suspect there are quite few people driving who have never taken a test or have failed but drive anyway. Also plenty of people who learned to drive overseas but have never taken a test in this country.
Haha I was at my local hospital recently and parked in its multi storey CP , I had reversed into a space and then a woman in tiny little hatch, attempted to drive into space opposite . It took her 16 manoeuvres to get in .
Due to our former membership in the EU and due to reciprocal agreements with countries in which they are supposed to have equal driving standards to ours, there are many thousands, if not tens/hundreds of thousands of drivers with full UK driver licences, who have never actually passed a test in the UK. That includes so-called professional drivers as well. There are countless lorry/ bus/coach /Uber/similar drivers who have never passed a UK driving test.
There are an untold number of people legally driving UK roads who do not have a UK licence (with a c, not an s, unless it’s a verb). The cousin of my girlfriend being one of them. She has a Philippines licence, which is good for a year in the UK. Probably all overseas tourists who rent cars do not have a UK licence either.
in my experience people that sit on green and go on red are normaly looking in there mirror to make sure they are annoying you , i have to be carefull how i word this but they tend to have a different colour skin to native british people
You can actually buy driving license in UK with no test needed. It's about 1000 pounds. I know people who done it and it's all legit. Inflation and high living costs will do that.

My main point was simply that it’s a confusing intersection because the road is offset. That confusion can then cause the driver to do as he did. One design issue then creating a second driver issue.
