What a great guy. I wish I could work on the classic stuff again but it's mainly new cars now spinning oil filters at work. I always keep an eye out for jobs at classic garages but would like to set out on my own one day

Need to work on my P4 90 and watching this during 2020 Covid-19. What lovely passion Ben has for Rover engines and finally I understand what 'that wheel thing does'. Lovely cars to drive.

Can you help me - am rebuilding a 1959 Rover 90 engine , stripped it down no problem to put it in the acid bath BUT the oil housing pickup , although loose would not detach from the engine block. Does it detach?

Lol freewheeling is not illegal, and never was, there is no statutory prohibition on the use of a freewheel nor any legislation forbidding a driver, if he so chooses, from coasting out of gear. The Highway Code does not discourage it, nor do the Construction and Use Regulations even mention it. The vast majority of automatics even freewheel by their very design.

@@hudsoninbury In pre-1959 Rovers with Freewheel - the gear lever remains in gear
      - the 'Fixed - Freewher' dash selector operates a one way dog-clutch - so it's like a bicycle freewheel...
      - It's not fitted to the servoed brake models ...
