Hah! Perfect timing on the video. Fishing for halibut Tuesday and then crabs/halibut combo Wednesday! Yessir!
aurite! GL man hope you get a barn door!
@@AffordableWahoo Got 1 keeper halibut today... We shall see what tomorrow holds in store...
Spinfisher got smooth drag.
It's such a solid reel for the money. Been using it for over 2 years straight and haven't serviced it at all and still going strong.
Yessah! The big boys are finally showing up! Nice one!
Hell yeah man it's about time haha
Nice job I couldn’t imagine tackling that size Shibi on a kayak. I had a hell of a time bringing in a 90lbs bluefin on my boat by myself. You make it look easy!! Really enjoy your videos keep them coming. Keep’m bent brahda 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Thanks dude 🤙 90 lb Bluefin is a fatty I swear these fish get like 2x stronger for every 10 lbs they grow. Tight lines over there 🤘
You are putting out some great content. I wish you luck with your channel, looking forward to looking backward at your prior videos 🤙🏼 Thanks from California
Thanks and hope you enjoy some of the older stuff! Had some epic sessions in the past couple years for sure

I have enjoyed some great vacations on the Big Island and met some very nice people which was a welcome bonus. So far I have only shore fished. I need to get offshore on my next trip. Wish I could fish there off of my boat…..
Nice catch dude!
Thanks braddah! Hope u can fish Hawaii again soon 🤙
Nice One! Those types of birds seem to always have pelagics under them. Glad you got that rod back.
Thanks! Great field test for how waterproof the Spinfisher is 😂
Awesome catch on a Revo 👍 gonna watch your prior videos
Thanks! There's a bunch of videos from before so enjoy 🤙
Nice catch 😎! One bait one big fish! I love it! That was a nice Shibbie! So exciting to watch! Mahalo always. 😅
Thanks! Was a treat to finally get back on a big one it had been awhile!
Awrriite! Pleasure watching ur videos always 🤙🏼🤙🏼 congrats on da big boy!
Mahalos braddah!
Nice Shibi! You know bait is getting hard when it’s pure excitement catching 1 bait
Thanks man! Yeah it's an emotional Rollercoaster every day out there lately 😂
@@AffordableWahoo Yes it is. I've been going for Akule, but it's 2nd rate bait. I ran Akule all day than finally picked up 1 Opelu and hooked a Mahi immediately.
@HungerStrikeOutdoors lol yeah man the pelagics don't wanna get stabbed by those gnarly spines or something
Nice one, raw fish fo days 🤙
Thanks braddah and yeah choke sashimi and poke 🤙
That opelu seeking shelter under your yak. The reel dunk (like my bait pole one, exact same thing with that kage catching the reel haha). Love the action in the short vid. The arduous (but film wise boring) fight the YT watchers miss out on after our edits 😂😂. Nice big boy bud!!
Yessah you know the struggle lol. Thanks braddah hope they keep biting for you over there 🤙
Great job. Wondering if you have caught sailfish in that same area? Awesome catch thanks for sharing
Thanks! I haven't gotten sailfish there myself but I've heard get once in a while.
Mahalo brother I was just curious saw one you got on the other side. Great going.
HOOO good thing the bail wasn't open on that shibi, would be another kind of fishing. Beauty!
lol that would have been like 450 yards of handlining 😂😂😂
Great job fishing these sizes of kayak😍🙏 Keep going, Captain, we enjoy watching your content. I have a question how much size line did you use for fishing? Silk and nylon both
Thanks! Glad folks are still enjoying after all this time. On this spinning setup I use 50 lb braid and about 80 feet of 40 lb Sakura flurocarbon topshot. It's very light for this size fish though so I gonna try 65 braid 60 flurocarbon next
@@AffordableWahoo Thank you very much for the answer 🫶🙏
Really light but you were flexible in pulling and you didn't pull the string too hard 👍
I think I saw you heading out last Thursday? I'm a newb in the kayak just trying to figure things out. Happy bottom fishing for now. Maybe someday I'll be out in the ono line. Great vids man. Mahalo
I think a couple other guys I know went out that day. That's good you figuring out your setup closer to shore first. I just cruised it in Hilo Bay for months before finding somebody to go offshore with 🤙
How much did that one weigh?
Came in at 69 exactly!
Awesome videos! Trying to start kayak fishing on the big island as well. What’s the best kayak to start with?
Thanks! Revo13 (light weight and fast), Outback (Heavy but more stable) probably your best bet. Regular paddle yaks like ocean kayak trident or prowler also good cheaper options
What was the weight?? Chee!
69 on the dot! 🤙🤙🤙
@@AffordableWahoo hammah! PB?
@'iokepa meno yeah definitely a PB! On da spinner too so was one workout 🤣
Congrats on the PB shibi, caught on a spinner no less! Only need one bait when you're as good as your are.
Thanks Scott! For every day where the one bait gets the job done there's like 5 that some shark or small shibi takes my bait and ends the day so this was a ton of luck!
Is the PVC rod holder rack you made 1 1/2" PVC?
Yep that's right
@@AffordableWahoo
Just wanted to let you know, I love your channel.
You and Rockkit are my favorite.
I'm just getting started in NW Florida
We have a bunch of reefs and pelagic fish here.
Can't wait to save up for my pedal drive.
Paddling in the wind sucks
Nice one!
Thanks braddah!
What kayak do you recommend for fishing in Hawaii?
I really like my Hobie Revolution 13 but the outback is also popular. The revo is fast and easier to carry around while the outback is heavier and slower but comes more ready to fish.
I guess for da weight is 69# 😂 good one bruh. Yessah
Whoa good guess 😂 Aurite mahalos 🤙🤙
SoCal we spike the brain
I'd rather do proper Ike Jime but it's not safe to do on large fish while it's basically sitting on your lap in a kayak.
What model fish finder are you using?
It's a Garmin Striker 4 with whatever tiny basic transducer it comes with. Amazingly it reads bottom to 650 feet reliably on my yak.
@@AffordableWahoo Thank you.
