In my Gold games a Pharah-Mercy can absolutely fuck shit up.
It seems to be easier to find a decent Pharah than a hitscan who can deal with her.
That's just mine, and my friend's experience, anywho.
Because a decent hitscan needs to be able to stand perfectly still in gold to be effective and if they get distracted by anything the pharah can get an early jump on them and the first rocket they take forces them to scramble which messes up their aim.
In my plat games more often than not it isn't the DPS that force me to swap because they're hitscan... i can easily predict where they'll be standing and fire rockets into their vicinity as i move in and out of cover. It's the supports playing Anna or Illari (especially illari now) because they're aim is a tad more forgiving and they're used to being pressured and having to hit shots at range while being forced into motion. Widowmaker's in gold/plat aren't practicing hitting shots at 100m while in full sprint... they practice small strafes and crouch maneuvers that are useless against pharah. If a widow gets dove by a winston or tracer/sombra they're switching to the short range smg and dealing with the near threat.
The supports meanwhile are sticking to their primary fire weapon, quick scoping, and trying to hit shots onto their teammates at range all while scrambling as fast as their feet can move. They also tend to maintain a wider field of view. a widow will get tunnelvision on whichever duel she's taking and forget to watch the skies even if she knows we have a pharah if I just stay out of her LOS and make her wait. An Anna will keep her eyes and ears open and realize I'm swerving above her from the flank.
Frankly on DPS it's far more challenging as pharah to deal with a team running full dive. the movement of tracer, sombra, even genji sometimes is a lot harder to predict which makes it harder to consistently hit them and while I might win a straight duel with their backline my own is going to die a lot faster especially if I have a mercy pocketing me in the sky and not watching our other support. Getting into a poke battle with a good pharah who has backup is a skill matchup. Running dive into a good pharah stresses the skill of her support structure.
I'm on console in play and I think it's just my own skill issue just not being able to hire the Phara smh
Because the lower you go, the worse the aim gets on the hitscan players.
Pharah gets a lot rarer after gold, cuz people start actually hitting shots pretty consistently and can shoot them out of the sky. Also Bastion is a big deal right now, so that isn't helping

I'm an Ana Main that is by now in Plat, having an enemy Pharah is a big treat for me. With Mercy, even more so. I call it "aim training time" and just have fun not letting them fly around easily. It makes Pharahs HAVE to get me first but due to my positions they have to come too close. At that point, that's a "sleep aim training". Dropping them off the map with sleeps is, like, the most satisfying thing ever. Second to that is sleeping Lucio over the pit.
I dunno, sleeping her ult or reins ult is my favourite part.
No other enemy ult cancel feels as good
@@skindred1888 Eh? Sleeping Genji ult though? But that's easy with Rein and Pharah ults. Now catching them mid fly with a sleep is satisfying. Especially over a pit.

@@skindred1888 sleeping a reaper ult is super satisfying as well. knowing that ult can wipe out my other supp then sleeping them is a win in my book.
It was rough around the edges, but this was some good Kiriko gameplay. Don't see this often in metal ranks. Hyper aggression is the name of the game with her. Just need to be a lot more aware of mates in need of heals, and also your own safety. Flank out, you throw a few knives, and when they look at you, TP away. In higher ranks you'll explode if you don't.

5:00 also i'm silver on DPS and for me soldier helps kill any Pharamercy (or just pharah), well not 100% of the time ofc but I do when she isn't looking at me mostly...a lucky headshot or 2 and some random ping rng gods homing the rest of the mag into their legs and pelvis 💀

Thing about support in any game that has a similar role it will always end up being way strong due to the fact that developers have to make it so that people want to play the role. League of legends is similar were you can essentially do anything as a support player there are almost no limits to what you can play cause they can do everything similar to how Overwatch 2 now has gradually become similar. And usually this comes at the cost of other roles, in league it was top lane and in overwatch its the tanks.

the issue is that support gameplay is inherently miserable unless you can play completely independently, like lucio. Support is just never a fun role in any game
you need the most awareness, which automatically causes the most stress, so its just easier to play DPS, which makes devs buff supports and makes the entire game miserable
@@cooltwittertagit's important to remember you can only speak for yourself. YOU might think support is inherently miserable, but that doesn't mean other people feel the same way and it doesn't mean you're right. people are different and like different things, that's okay! it's a good thing
Idea for workshop if possible. Movement keys randomise every how ever often. Could just be forward and back swap or left and right swap or all of them rearrange. Could include ability keys like shoot and shift swap around. Could even mess with aiming look direction if possible.
I think one reason using kitsune instead of holding it is that it boosts ult charge potential for your entire team
Most of the time i just hold it unless its like a big team fight

15:50 I relate too much to whoever said the Ball players they get just throw if they don't get healed. I remember a while ago I was playing Ana in a QP and it was a pretty normal game, then all of the sudden I notice that my ball is doing nothing but shoot at me for the entire 2nd half of the game. I don't even think I was playing bad and I don't remember them dying a ton. It was genuinely so confusing because I was just like bro you can grab health packs, if you rely on my healing a ton you probably aren't very good at Ball

honestly i tend to kinda dont bother with trying to heal ball fully cause his hp is ridiculous. youd spend the whole game only healing him, and hes practically immortal in lower ranks anyway
My favorite type of players are pharah one tricks who complain with the helado when both supports said they don’t know how to play good mercy then blames us for the L

As a plat/diamond player I can easily deal with a pharah in my games, as long as they don’t have a mercy with them.
A pharah-mercy however, I can’t do much of anything because I can’t get the mercy and the pharah never dies or just gets insta revived as long as the mercy is still alive
As an Ashe main I get a lil excited when a pharah shows up ngl- it’s not that hard to shoot her down once you’re used to it but whenever I’m tank it drives me nuts when dps can’t just kill her
im a kiriko main and i have a problem where as soon as i get kitsune no matter if there is like one person left if the fight is already done ill end up using kitsune just out of habit lol so basically the opposite of a bunch of other kirikos
Easy way to fix both bad habits:
You know that moment when all 10 players are engaged in combat - the so-called 'team fight'?
That's your marker. As soon as that starts, just toss it out. Head empty, throw it right down the middle, let the kitsune guide these hands to those faces.
Kitsune is 95% an engagement tool, so you throw it down as soon as the team fight begins to give your team a massive push advantage. Vast majority of the time, it'll at least help a lot. Won't always be a fight winner, of course, and you'll have better or worse ones. But it's really hard to go wrong with an engagement kitsune. Just pay attention to how well your kitsunes are working out, and then you can expand your options with experience.

I’m being called out on holding Kitsune until Overwatch 3
If I’m on damage or tank, I feel I can give the pharrah a run for her money or keep her out of the sky
But as support i have a hard time trying to heal and put pressure on her
I like what Overwatch TH-camr “Awkward” has said when he played baptiste. He does high damage and gets a ton of kills, while being about 100 heals behind his other support teammate. He says “You have high healing, and I have high damage. But I am winning my games” balance the heals and get some kills, or play mercy
Zen with discord even on squisheys is so good. Also try to keep everybody at full health

As a diamond dps kiri it hurts me when someone plays this passive. You really shouldn't fear taking some time going on a flank and getting close to your enemies. It really is all about removing attention to the main fight by pressuring, and even if a flank doesn't work, you still just get out for free basically
Do you commit or if you see low teammates do you tp back? Like do you just focus on your flank or do you look back through the walls while flanking to check if you need to go back and heal?
@@aeloh6921ml7 once described playing kiriko as acting like a cockroach. you go on your flanks, throw some kunai, but once the enemy looks at you and starts trying to shoot and focus you, you TP back to safety. it's about being annoying. if you get picks, great, but it's mostly about taking attention and resources and then TPing back to your team for safety and/or if they need support.

Honestly this is why I just play mercy, I play anything else and I get flamed for not healing, or not doing damage.
This Kiriko has Toggle Healing Ofuda On and the first Kiriko tip from ANY Kiriko player is turn that OFF. It locks you into the animation and wastes time. Off allows you to control how many you throw.

He either meant the non support que times, or he slipped and meant the que times were short for support not long. But yes long que times means lots of people are playing the role and not the other roles.
