Part of me always knew it wasn't viable to live on only or even mostly fruit but seeing it broken down like this is actually really useful! Im a proud vegan, which leaves animal products out of my diet, but I love food so much. I love cooking, eating healthy, going out to eat in restaurants and enjoying my snacks. An additional problem arises when these people call their diet 'vegan.' Although it isn't untrue, they don't eat any animal products, it is problematic when these are the 'vegan' influencers that are popular and getting the views and not the balanced vegan who eats enough of a variety of foods. Then when one of them dies from malnutrition people attribute it to their 'vegan' diet and not an obvious eating disorder. When I first went vegan I looked for TH-camrs to follow (in addition to doing nutritional research) to figure out how the heck to eat a vegan diet as it is not usually taught in schools or your family unless they are also vegan. The top videos were fully raw or raw till 4. These same influencers are not vegan 8 years later (because their diets were unsustainable) but then blamed all their health problems on a vegan diet. The same people are now follow a carnivore diet so one extreme diet to another.

But there are some who probably do. I know plenty of people who eat an omnivorous diet who only eat processed junk food (fast food, boxed kraft mac and cheese, cookies, cupcakes). i fell into the 80/10/10, raw til 4 diet in my early 20s. it became an obsession. can’t remember how long i did it, but it ended in me bingeing an entire jar of peanut butter because i was SO protein deprived! it worries me that people who already have a negative relationship with food will see these videos and fall into it as well.

You have been so helpful, even in just the last few days when I started watching you, to me in my weight loss journey. I APPRECIATE ALL your hard work and ALL that you are doing to try to RESCUE young girls and women-as well as people like me (I am 66)-from “diet culture.” I am a member of Weight Watchers but I have chosen as my goal to lose merely 1/2 lb./week as I feel that is realistic and sustainable. I have had great success, meeting my last year’s goal to lose 26 lbs. in just 9 months. I am SO glad I decided to go with a more patient route. I know that it will help me to keep off the weight long term. Anyway, YOU GO GIRL!!!!!

    Thank you so much for addressing this, I genuinely feel bad for all the vulnerable people she is affecting with all the misinformation she is spreading. In one of her videos she talked about how it is fat that gives diabetes and not the sugar so it is fine to eat all these fruits as long as you do not eat any fat. I felt horrified that in this day an age anyone with internet and a camera can spread all sorts of nonsense on the internet. Given that some people do not know better they easily fall in this trap.

    THANK YOU for making this video I wish I had this back when my 22 year old self fell head first in to this high carb 80/10/10 way of living breathing and eating. I ate this way for 2.5 years. No salt or oil in that entire time. I became extremely close with the Dr behind “80/10/10” which seems like this girl is following in a sense, and became friends with the blonde who must not be named, the fruit rider who tells the fat you eat is the fat you wear to the rooftops, and not only did this way of eating COMPLETELY lead to my dietary struggles for the next 5.5 years AFTER falling off of this way of eating, but the amount of trust I had in this way of eating and the people pioneering it, is so sad looking back now. This video was triggering in the sense that I related SO hard to things you were sharing as well. Not triggering bad, but it just takes me back and I can’t believe I believed in something so deeply for so long only for it to lead me to feeling like I was crazy for not feeling satiated the ENTIRE 2.5 years I ate this way. The amount of volume I would stuff myself with to only be left with my mind literally screaming at me it wasn’t full. My BRAIN was screaming at me and I kept thinking something was wrong with ME for not feeling good eating this way. I was a Vegan a total of 8 years and it wasn’t until I stopped that the long list of symptoms I had developed from every-single-possible-way-you-could-be vegan-and-eat-vegan went away. I think of the almost decade I lost to this really dangerous way of life and wish I had never found the TH-cam videos promoting it. I couldn’t believe the transformation of my health when I went back to eating all animal foods. I was so deep in this movement that I spent 7 summers at a festival where I made some of my deepest friendships and they only served raw vegan fruit based food. I of course had some of the most incredible moments and have gained a ton of other knowledge through that vegan journey, yet coming out of that saved my life and health, literally. I made an in depth 2 part video series on my TH-cam, sharing this entire vegan journey and why I stopped, so that it could help anyone else silently struggling, and to also share that I did every way you possibly could live and eat vegan until I felt like I was on deaths door to make the switch. THANK YOU from the depths of my heart that you made a video sharing about this. I really hope the girls watching this or young women or women or men or non gender conforming HUMANS listen hard to the knowledge and science that you are sharing so they don’t make the same mistake myself and a lot of other close friends made that are now on the other side. This way of living and eating led to me developing symptoms of disordered eating and I had never had any problems with food or mindset around food beforehand. Eat animal foods. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Fruitarianism ad libitum (eat as much as you want, some people even pushed a minimum amount of kcal that was quite high) destroyed teeth and created bellies (visceral fat). That is absolutely correct that there is a right and wrong way to do raw til 4. The best way to do it is having a green smoothie in the morning (my favorite is blending organic baby spinach, frozen mango or peach, green banana (for prebiotics and resistant starch), organic green apple and homemade organic almond milk), fresh green salad with organic romaine and/or massaged kale with fruit like cherry tomatoes and/or organic cucumber, some sprouts and nuts and/or seeds, some fruit such as organic red grapes or banana with almond butter for a snack, and cauliflower rice stirfry with veggies or a nourish bowl with quinoa/sweet potatoes/etc. for dinner.

    This is why it’s hard to take diet advice from people under the age of, like, 35, seriously. She has no lived experience. She’s thin and relatively pretty because she’s young and doesn’t go into massive caloric surpluses.
    But her metabolism is eventually going to slow, and we’ll see how “amazing” her diet is then. Not to mention all of the other nutrients she’s missing out on. I can’t imagine that she goes very hard at the gym, for example, because I can’t imagine how she’s recovering from every workout on such low protein

    • @GaryHighFruit
      @GaryHighFruit 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      "I can’t imagine how she’s recovering from every workout on such low protein"
      You can’t imagine because you've been watching normie dieticians on TH-cam.
      I also eat similar to that woman. But I've been doing it 28 years. I'm now 55. High-fruit vegans are always putting up their blood tests. So don't just make assumptions; look at the science.
      Protein needs are over-stated on purpose in the RDA.(and all over our culture). You should know this by now. It's old news.
      Fruit officially has 1 gram of protein per serving......but this is discovered by heating it over a flame. Heating kills enzymes, which are made of amino acids, which the body uses to make protein.
      Wanna be stunned? Look up the protein % in mothers milk. Babies - during a persons fastest growing years - gets 7% of his calories from protein. Fruit is 6%.
      If you watch fruitarian videos, you'll continually hear what I myself noticed. My recovery is quick and pain free since 1995 when I went high-fruit vegan.
