Just had to come back and comment... the dementors were a huge hit for Halloween! The amount of visitors that were amazed was a bit of a shock... my daughter and I made four of them and displayed them similar to how you did at the end of the video. Have to say a big thank you for sharing... without the video... never would have come up with idea! So kudos.. much of the thanks to you! The floating action at night with the purple lights was a huge win with the kids! Be well! Look forward to more Halloween haunt ideas!

You've inspired my 13yo to help me GO MAKE STUFF this time! I'm the crazy Halloween Lady and he's the Teen Halloween Grinch. So I'll be patient but I gotta strike while the iron's hot. 😆 And YES there will be multiples and YES they will remain on display over the cemetery for at least 2 weeks! 😆 If "they" can pull Christmas ahead, WE can hold Halloween over!

awesome! the landscape fabric was meant to be outside, and the insulation is the same material as pool noodles- so it holds up well outside.

Glad you think so! much harder edit- they wanted a five minute video- that would have been much harder.
Just a little clarification: Four pieces of week blocker are used, but it appears he only applies 3. You will cut the sleeves (1 piece), the hood (1 piece) and the body (TWO PIECES). You see him cutting one body piece, but he actually will be cutting two of them. The body piece goes on first, followed by the sleeves, followed by the second body piece. The hood goes on last. Just a bit of clarification as it wasn't immediately clear to me.

They work brilliantly. Love how you've managed to suspend them so they all shift in the breeze as a group. Very nice idea and executed well. FYI I was part of Nick Dudman's SFX team on two of the Potter films, including Azkaban. Had a great time working on it and so It's nice to see folks using these characters as a base for a Halloween haunt. :)
very cool, these were a ton of fun to make! I bet working on the films was fun in its own way. I love haunted attractions and have never been drawn to film myself.
@@StiltbeastStudios Well sadly after much debate they were given over to the CGI dept. Just like the Werewolf was just after we had spent tons of time and money making a full size costume that worked. Yeah, there was a lot of backwards and forwards going on when it came to certain creature effects on both Azkaban and Goblet. :(
@@Silver-rx1mh one of the reasons I was never drawn to film lol. I get to keep what I make and pretty much have creative control. And there is the hurry up and wait aspect lol. There is a joy in knowing you did good work even though it may not be seen as much as you like.

These would be great for a trail, (outside), and inside hanging from the ceiling in the corner with a small fan for movement. I made one last year with a devil skeleton, (red), with a black cheese cloth robe. Used a lot spray starch. I like your way better, faster and more cost effective. Thanks for another great video

Okc has really been hit hard by a ice storm a week ago. Our neighborhood is still without power, but it was so cool to have a little haunted house and all the kids still having fun..thank you for all you do.. the wife and kids are gung-ho hot gluing..(gas generator)

@@StiltbeastStudios YES. I already did mine, my son birthday is tomorow and the theme is Harry Potter. So I used the foam head with a clothes hanger for the shoulders. Then I used a XL trash bag and rip it instead of cutting with scissors.
Mission accomplish; Not. "wife" didn't died when I hid it in the kitchen. Still good for the birthday.

Ok this was a great video but it felt weird maybe it's just me but it didn't seem like a regular video I am used to seeing by him. Still a kick butt video and I needed this idea for my cemetery next year.
I know exactly what you mean. The normal videos are detailed and this one feels "rushed". But I'll just play it back a little slower to catch the details
they requested a five minute video, I laughed at them. this was the shortest I could do- a longer version is coming!

So I'm a little late to the game on this one. With the anticipation of "Return to Hogwarts" I started thinking about dementors again which led me back here. My question is if 4 pieces are cut at 6' each, are there 2 pieces cut for sleeves, or 2 pieces for the torso? I slowed the video down to try to capture the details and figure it out but it's still unclear. The assembly looked like 1 torso, 1 sleeve, another torso, then the hood? Is that right?Other than that, I love this build. Expecto patronum!🤘💀

I'm confused on the fabric it says to cut 4 six foot pieces but yet it only refers to 3
pieces... the sleeve, the body, and the hood. Are there 2 sleeves, 2 body pieces??!?
I did two pieces for the body so it was fuller and had a layered effect.

I'm so glad I found this video! I'm trying to make the hands for a different monster I made but it's not working. My hot glue gun is just melting the foam and I have to hold it in place for minutes to even attempt a decent bond. What kind of glue gun and hot glue sticks do you use?
Hi there! It sounds like you need to use a lower temp setting. Here is the gun I use!

Other than cut the fabric with scissors would you have any suggestions on how to shred or rip it to give it a more gnarly look? I live in Allen, Texas so would you this fabric be waterproof or would you suggest bringing the dementor in if expecting rain due to the additional weight placed on the PVC pipe?
it just hangs lower when its wet- the fabric is meant for landscaping, so its perfiectly fine in the weather. as far as distressing you can use a tool called a leather rougher.
