- Yo! Yet another crazy but amazing episode, where we learn even more about all the characters. It's definitely not all black and white, that's for sure!
Remember this is not a substitute for watching the actual show.
If you haven't seen it, then please do so (available on Amazon Prime) and then come back to the video afterwards.

The dolphin scene never ceases to make me LOL. It's just so absurd.
Agreed. That scene was magic. It's so painfully uncomfortable but somehow hilarious.
Yes, I was even laughing again today when I saw that clip here - and for some reason, the look on Sonny and Kat's faces made it even funnier.
It's perverse how something so terribly sad can still be so hilarious, Sometimes I think humour saves us from despair.
so strange so many reactors react shocked and distraught by that scene. I was on the floor in laughter when i saw it.
@@lionhead123 There were some that found it hilarious but yea, overall most of them seemed caught off guard/disgusted lmao. My first viewing was like yours, I had to pause the episode because I was laughing so hard that I was crying.
c'est surtout la réalité les dauphin sont des violeur drogué et psychopathe
"Don't do that to yourself, please"
This has to be the most compassionate couple doing reaction vids. I really appreciate that they aren't just wowing at all the explosions like most of the others do.
10/10 for this channel
I saw them in public once and he was standing in front of her, wasted, slapping her boobs like bongos, screaming "ARE YOU READY FOR MY DING-DOOO-" and then he lifted one arm and one leg like a Super Mario jump and the "DONG" transformed into his simultaneous blast of belch and fart. A double pipe classic. Nobody has believed my story to this day. I can barely believe it myself.
So funny thing about the Plane scene. In the comic books Maeve actually chose to stay on the plane, trying to figure something out, how to save every1, but since the people aboart the plane were going crazy (understandably), she couldn't take the presure as she realized that Homelander was right and killed everybody on board including the children as she jumped straight thru the hull of the plane which ripped everybody apart as the broken plane pieces cut thru them. So in a way she actually did help them by making it fast for them.
It's subtle but the reason Butcher knows so much about the Spice Girls was in the first scene of the episode. The woman he was with mentioned a reunion tour...
But at the time you don't realise who she was talking about.
something else i noticed on rewatch was the fact that frenchie mentioned lenny in his introduction scene in episode 2. we don’t find out who lenny is until season 2 but frenchie comments on his and hughie’s similar looks in the 2nd episode of the show!
Enjoyed your reactions and the discussion afterwards!
34:16 In regards to The Female not killing Frenchie, you may be right that there was a bit of plot armor, but my interpretation was that she wasn't really intending to kill him. She attacks or runs when she's scared or angry, yes, but with the people she killed, she was clearly looking to kill them -- I think the lady in the nail salon was probably a former friend or employer who sold her to the guys that were holding her captive. She wasn't uncontrollably killing people at random. So I think after Frenchie showed her some compassion by first freeing her, then also being kind to her in the store at the subway station, she was still scared but knew he wasn't malicious. So I figured she attacked because she was being cornered, but purposely wasn't trying to kill Frenchie either.
The title of the episode comes from a poem by Rudyard Kipling, the guy who wrote The Jungle Book. The full line from the poem is "The female of the species is deadlier than the male". Considering how the episode played out, it fits rather well.
I love for every gory scene we get a wonderful Kat profile as she looks away.
The whole plane sequence is just nerve-wrecking. I remember being shocked during and after it. I read somewhere that Homelander was right about the plane lifting stuff. If he tried doing so, like Superman did in Superman Returns, the plane split in half. Of course, that's not excuse for his choice.
The dolphin scene, I feel bad for admitting it, but it so funny when I first saw it. Insanely funny. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I don't think that was his argument honestly. If he rammed it he'd have gone through it, but he claimed there was nothing to push off if he gently guided it to the ocean (which is nonsense as he doesn't need anything to push off when flying and carrying others). Planes are designed to withstand impact from certain stress points such as when landing. I just think he didn't want to ruin his credibility.
@@RichardStrong86 being strong and able to fly while carrying someone doesn't necessarily mean you can slow a falling plane while hovering in place.
Anyhow the important thing is how utterly dismissive he was of every human life aboard.
Homelander and crew are pretty much like an occupation army, with the same de-humanised view of the occupied folk as lesser beings.
@@RichardStrong86 He isn't a super genius. He'd have no idea where he could press nor could he calculate the center of mass in the plane.
That moment when Homelander gives almost word for word the same Speech as Bush after 9/11.
Best evil Superman ever, as horrible as he is he makes the show and that’s definitely the toughest episode to watch.
He is the worlds greatest

@@NostalgicMem0ries if the superheroes are human, of course. If they are aliens, I have my doubts
Frenchie was able to hold off the female, because she wasn't trying to kill him. She lunged at him, in my opinion, because she thought he was bringing Butcher and Mother's Milk along to re-capture her. Believe me, had she wanted him dead, she had more than enough time to put her fist right through him. That airplane scene with Homelander and Maeve was as tough a scene of television as I can ever remember watching. It was frighteningly raw and sickening to watch, but I couldn't look away! I loved your reactions!! :)
Another great reaction. Your response to the Spice Girls segment was hilarious.
Hope your both staying safe. 🤘🤘🤘
I am very glad that you are back with a new video!
Thank you for your reactions, you are a pleasure to watch and finished watch the whole video too.
Regarding the situation of Flight 37, the initial intelligence that Stillwell provided was that there were three hijackers. I think Homelander's inexperience in a non rigged situation he figured once they took out three hijackers, the job was done. That's why he was basking in the glow of what he thought was a successful mission. The unknown fourth hijacker 'wasn't in the script' he was expecting so he was caught off guard and just reacted.
Yeah, Maeve is truly afraid and with good reason.
Those are some MASSIVE subtitles lol
It’s so that people are still able to follow along, even if they’re watching on a phone 👍
The plane scene made me cry the first time I saw it. Not sobbing and hysterics, but I sat there silently crying and I felt sick. I just rewatched the series for the second time and that's how I wound up here, seeing how others reacted and .... oof. You both did better than I did the first time I saw this episode. All the f**cked up things in this show (though I love it), and that plane scene was just ... very hard to watch.
Good Reaction... It just occurred to me that the dolphin maybe a female. Thus completing the circle of female centered plotlines this episode... The asian girl wasn't really trying to kill Frenchy, she could have done that in 2 seconds flat. She was probably trying to scare him off so she could escape.
It was either a female or a gay dolphin.
Its crazy watching Huey react to himself
duude can't wait for your reactions to the next episodes!
The episode where the fan hits the shit, breaks and now there are poopy shards everywhere!
One of the things I really like about this show, that it has in common with pretty much all good TV shows, is that things aren't just black and white. Even the seemingly best people do some bad stuff from time to time, and even the worst characters can evoke some sympathy/empathy. Life is shades of grey. Who knows, maybe before the end of the show we can even feel some sympathy for Homelander - nah probably not. 😑
The comic homelander was even worse but I felt sympathy when his background was revealed
@@dakotablount251 God i hope they make homelander end up like the comics.
The dolphin scene is the most polarizing moment in the show. I've seen reactors who would normally be horrified laugh hysterically (maybe they're still horrified but that's just their reaction). I've seen reactors who normally take everything in stride be utterly shocked and appalled. It seemed that Sonny wanted to laugh but didn't think he should lol.
36:10
Hahaha... She went full Danish :D
Well well well. The airplane scene hahaha
This Kat is a living work of art... exquisite. Someday I might even try watching 1 of these shows you two review. Great video! Thanks.
Homelander got sloppy. If he'd lasered the cockpit terrorist the same way he did the cabin terrorist, at least he wouldn't have destroyed the controls (though shouldn't the co-pilot controls have still been working? They're duplicate control systems.) Also, Homelander shouldn't have tried talking down the terrorist. He should have just lasered him immediately...directly,not sweeping. Then the pilot might have lived to land the plane.
Once the rescue wasn't perfect, instead of saving as many passengers as they could, Homelander probably came up with the "we were too late because we weren't notified soon enough" narrative on the spot.
That city background is great! I hope you use it again.
Oh man, I really wanted to see this! This is when we realize just how much of a threat Homelander is. This was a great reaction!
Bro you look like Hughie with a beard 😂
After the dolphin scene you are officially one of us!
Excellent channel Btw. I love that you don't stay just on a reaction but analyze the episode from a fresh perspective
My favorite episode. Because after that dolphin scene you cant stop watching the series. It was just so funny.
*Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Amongst my favorite reactors!!*
You two are so well spoken, LOVE the content!
You two are the cutest
The gag of the deep spritzing larry the dolphin only for him to fly out the window is morbidly funny to me
Also the filmed that and the plane scene back to back
Homelander has a special relationship with planes Lol
both of your reactions.... worth the lockdown. please upload the other eps at least every 3 days, just like Dos Cavazos did, so the momentum is maintained. off topic, may i suggest "hunters" a new netflix series, just 10eps and its just season1. thanks again, for this!!!
Your reactions were so hilarious! And the surprises are not finished guys!
That Homelander speech at the end is similar to Bush's 9/11 speech at Ground Zero. All that shit about "we hear you, and those who did this to us, will hear all of us soon."
Omfg been waiting for this!! Loved the reaction keep them coming 🙏🏻🙏🏻
in terms of frenchie was able to hold her off...i think if she wanted to kill him she would have, so that may tell you something in and of itself!
The title comes from part of a longer phrase, "the female of the species, is deadlier than the male." Which originally was a reference to animal species with larger or more aggressive females than males, but is now often used tongue in cheek to refer to deadly or dangerous women.
And now, for the moment you've all been waiting for... :)
damn i love the deep's redemption arc this season. future spice girl?
Kat looking away reminds me of the Dog from Up
Squirrel
A good episode with bad stuff in it!(the plane & dolphin scenes)
Luv u guys!❤
"It was a tough episode. A lot went down."
Me: *facepalm* Too soon!
I love Kat’s refusal to watch parts 😂 🖤
Although the grimness and violence of _The Boys_ is a bit traumatising to watch, I was entranced by _The Boys_ because the characterisations and the casting is so good; especially as the black-and-white presumptions about how evil or good a character is get eroded as more character complexity is revealed. (I’m always having to learn that it’s not a good idea to make snap judgements about people, but it will finally sink in, I hope. )
Have you guys watched _Doom Patrol_ yet? I think you would love the ensemble cast and their character arcs, and the sheer creativity, drama and humour that the writers managed to invest into that show.
It was my favourite show of 2019, although _The Boys_ and _The Haunting of Hill House_ and _Umbrella Academy_ were not far behind in terms of great quality fantasy entertainment.
We haven’t seen Doom Patrol yet, but it’s on the list 👍
Airplane scene hard 2take. Ep is so good. Season 2 I hope they explore Maeve more.it was so balanced great 😮 n ahsss. From spice ref to the airplane.
Kat is not ready for this level of violence.
Here's the thing: both Homelander and Maeve are bullet proof, so it doesn't matter that the guy had a gun. He couldn't hurt either of them by firing a gun. Either of them could've easily taken the gun from him or killed him without the whole laser eyes shit. So yeah, they could've landed the plane if he hadn't acted impulsively and blasted the guy and the control panel.
You don't say
@@pamoweiberezi5315 there would've at least been a chance they could pilot it themselves, but sans control panel...
Oh, yeah! Thanxx!
Just when you thinkThe Boys couldn't get any more extrene, here comes this ep.
Great reaction, really should check out Kingdom real short and great series, think you would enjoy the story
Love this series, I am on season 2
I leave a like even if i don't watch the reaction, i still have to start to view The Boys and i must avoid spoilers 😁 Seeyaaaa
Take an awful scene and exaggerate its awfulness in ways that it becomes just grotesque, then it makes you laugh. Hard.
That's what the dolphin scene did for me. It is soo out of this world...
And that scene is just the culmination (so far) of the grotesque here.
Great reaction to a great episode in a great series.
As I said before, I'll catch up on your reactions. Thank you. You two do a great job. Still, eat a mission burrito for me :). I'll sub to patreon when this crap is over. Good luck in the meantime.
FYI: I'm a war veteran. Iraq. I wish you nothing but the best. Palo Alto is my hometown but I live in Seattle now. Susu (Thai for fighting fighting).
Hey Upper East Siders! One of my many sources spotter Nate Archibald stealing a dolphin. Oh oh... has the golden boy fallen or simply craving sushi ?
Loved this sweater !!!!
The spice Girls speech! Best part of the series :-)
I read a review somewhere that called Homelander the laziest of heroes/villains. He is invulnerable and super strong, but he seems to only have one move, his laser-vision. He could do so much more, be so much more, but it is far easier just to burn someone down rather than try anything else. Maybe it is just because he thinks normal people are so beneath him, that he doesn't need to do the work, but who could say.
I think it was explained in the show, he cannot lift the plane, he is not superman who can control gravity. If he tried that he propably just fly through the plane, and I can't imagine how he could bring 123 people to the safe before plane crushed propably with Maeve on the board. Just saying he is not lazy, but his number one is Vought (reason why he cannot safe the girls).
This show (and the comic of course) was made to be cruel, gore, hard to watch, with dark humor and random situations but in the end there´s always a message.
Kat looks so gorgeous 😍... I missed you guys. Great reaction as always
It's true I've heard that dolphins are real perverts
The female of the species or "the female" is what she's called in the comic books :)

And what would you do Sony against Superman? That's exactly what it is. Batman's worst fear.
Yep scary spice.
The episode where i really came to hate Homelander as a character (though beautifully acted). Also nice matching of jumper and eye make up.
This guy kind off looks like Hughie or is it just me
Shoutout to Kat's makeup
OH THIS EPISODE!!!!! HAHAAAAA
How dare you two be so beautiful!! And on top of being stunning, you two seem like such great people! Where are you from and how can I get there????
We're Danes!
But you can't come right away, we're currently in complete lockdown 🙃
Some of the stuff Homelander said at the end was word for word stuff that George W Bush said after 9/11
the Deep: explains stuff about dolphins
Sonny: thats kinda sweet, tho
The Deep: Talks about having a blow up dolphin in his bed with lipstick on its blow hole
Sonny: silence
also you guys are maybe the first reactors i've seen make the point that they wouldn't have been in nearly as much mess if Homelander didn't destroy the plane's controls/panel, which is a point everyone seems to just overlook!
This is probably the most uncomfortable we've seen Kat in a long while. Hope she's okay! Also this is the worst episode in terms of that stuff if that helps.
I´ve got mad for a second when i readed "Also this is the worst episode" Lol sorry.
miss you guys :D
He couldve guided the plane down
Weird hearing Tagalog in a TV show as a Filipino lol, I'm just not used to it. But the guys that were holding the woman in the cell towards the beginning were speaking it.... more importantly, the translation in the subtitles weren't even accurate at all
42,000,000 minutes in a life, why is 3 minutes so difficult?
I like the Huey starlight thing but I just wish they would have given it a little bit more breathing room between his girlfriend being run over and them starting off a connection with starlight like I get it it's a TV show you only have so much time but it just feels a bit rushed.
The good news is this is one of the few complaints I have about this show unlike with pretty much every single Marvel movie besides Thor Ragnarok where I have a million complaints and the only reason I really don't have any complaints about Thor Ragnarok it's cuz I see that more of a comedy than as a serious movie and whenever something's a comedy you can get away with a lot more simply because well you're not trying to be serious or at least have any air of hey this is reality kind of but not really
George Bush said that exact same speech. We heard you, and they will will hear us all soon
The tittle is more than a oh look she a woman
The gorls actual name in the comics is the female of the species ofcause by now u know the show gave her a actual name but in the comics she didnt have a name same as frenchie isnt named frenchie
why do you have a picture of bayard street in nyc behind you?
Because it was featured in the episode we were watching 🙂
Your witnessing the current state of affairs in the United States. A step away from Theocratic Fascism. We're hanging on by a thread. Y'all need a butler? I'll work cheap just to get out of the states. I'm friendly, I cook and clean. I'm a decent bartender and not bad grilling Barbeque. If you know anyone, let me know. I'll learn Flemish as quickly as possible. Let me know. 😁
Sure, the more, the merrier!
But, uhm, what do you need to learn Flemish for? We're Danes 😅
Whoops, my bad. Wrong language. Apologies.
No worries!
Happens all the time ☺️
Dutch. Again, I'm a little embarrassed. Oh well. Glad your enjoying the show. It's messed up. A pretty good analogy of our experience here in the states. Scary for people who still think for themselves.
If there's one thing that's for certain, it's that Danish get mistaken for Dutch all the time, and apparently is interchangeable for many foreigners. When I say "no worries, happens all the time", I mean it - we're pretty used to it 😄
Hey man, stay safe and take good care, we heard the U.S. is quite uneasy at the moment.
Butcher saying all supes are the same is just like people who say all cops are bad which is just like the racist cops who say all people of x race (usually Black and Hispanic) are bad.
It's judging people without actually knowing them. Assuming that because other people in a category are just like the people in that category that you have heard of even though those people are a fraction of a fraction of the whole.
Yes every group bigger than x has some bad people in the group however it will also have some decent people and a lot more people who have done some fucked up things yet feel bad and try to do better, they may mess up again and most likely will however they try.
It is strange that so few notice that Homelander gave the same speech to the camera as President Bush after 9/11.
Or does no one want to notice this? The show is satire and satire is always a mirror to reality. Homelander stands for America. This is how you are governed.
You are aware that we are not Americans, yea?
And that we are way too young to remember GWB's speech
@@KatSonny I have spoken this in general. It's really frightening how few people, especially Americans, notice this. I like to look at you. But I didn't address you directly here. Was not a criticism of you.
