Apparently this is the reason that two Gleaner combine's I owned had wheel weight's on the back axle and here I thought it was just so that the combine could still be able to steer when going down a steep high without having to use the side brakes to turn. That there isn't even a steep hill. I have gone down hill's so steep that the drive tires lost traction and started skiing down the hill and one thing you don't want to do in that situation is stop the hydrostat because then you can really go for a toboggan ride. You just keep the wheel's turning and hope it catch's it's self. Some use chain's and we have had to disc underneath and keep one combine tire in the discing. When you get done with a field like that and have survived you sure have a feeling of relief. I had a final drive shaft break one time when the leveling was maxed out but fortunately it was on the uphill side. Another time I had the rear leveling hinge frame break in a similar situation, the back end dropped the leveling raised to the maximum height bowing both leveling cylinder's. A dozer and beam's and a lot of blocking and extra long welding lead's finally fixed the problem. I had relative's and friend's that weren't as lucky as me as they were seriously injured or killed in their mishap's and equipment failures.
Should have never tried backing up that hill with such a heavy header and it up so high, raising the center of gravity.

Si c'est pas volontaire qu'es ce que c'est. Faire une marche ar dans un coteau la coupe levé à fond.
Wesh il est con normal qu'il c'est passer sa là barre de coupe est lever a font en marche arrière en descente
Quand sa monte pas en avant certains essait en arrière, c'est pas des blagues, des fois sa marche... La non!

That's physically impossible,all the weight sets in front of the tractor,it wouldn't do anything,as so far as keeping it on the ground.This guy was showing off for the camera,it's pretty obvious for all to see.Anytime that you're running a combine you always go cab forward up the hill at all times.On the newer combines,they also have the ability to put on rear weights on the wheels with dual weighted tires,this is a somewhat older model and these features didn't exist then.I pray that this guy is no longer allowed to drive combines or any other types of farm machinery.

Same with tractors. It was common to reverse up slopes when you had heavy equipment hanging in the back. This is simple physics.

You can tell this guy knew what he was doing,there's a balancing act with this machine.But all it takes is one accident and down the hill he would of went end on end.
You can tell he doesnt know what hes doing because if he did he would have known that combines are light in the back end and backing up a hill doesnt make any sense to begin with

It was like he was posing for the camera to do this in the first place,he actually balanced most of the weight on the front tires which is also a big NO NO, cuz if he would have blew out a tire,he would've flipped the tractor over.
Can't he lower the small wheel axle to lower the center of gravity, as he goes down hill, so the thing won't tip like that?

pas d'accord, j'ai deja assisté a ça ( en moins extreme) et lame baissé c'etais bien mieux, de plus quand tu baisse la lame, tu abaisse aussi le centre de gravité de la machine..

I've seen that happen. Didn't turn out good like this one.... also the farmer that had this happen to him gave the field away to someone else cause it was too hilly
