Another approach that's worked for me is not assigning workouts to days. I've done well with lower, upper, rest day and repeat for a rolling 2 on/1off.
@@t9retro723 well whatever man I don’t like commenting on videos, but that just kinda triggered me lol strength gains consistently get harder to make the more you lift and it takes months if hard work sometimes to get little results past the 3-4 year mark if you’re training properly.
My method to working out is full body . A push , a pull , a leg . Start heavy and reverse pyramid lower weight higher rep . All not till failure but just before . Then a weighted abs and a low intensity cardio . I do that every day
Agree, they actually gave him bad advice. Everyone is different and fitting everyone into the same programming (volume, intensity, frequency) isn’t a good way to approach training.
Hey guys, been listening for about a month now. Trained consistently for about 9 months last year then had about 6 months of and lost all my gains. Just wondering if I'm over doing it I do a upper body lower body split across 2 days then I have a rest day and repeat. Upper body day consists of 3 groups of supersets of antagonizing compound lifts with 5 sets of each exercise, all exercises are in the 8-12 reps with a mechanical dropset in the same range. And leg day is the same only 1 of the superset groups is isolation exercises. Worried that doing so many compound lifts drains my CNS and my performance may lack accordingly. Any help would be appreciated.
In the winter I know myself I'm not going to be working out as frequently or as intensely in late summer I start to lose about 10 lbs ,it really helps my body shape. the spring I slowly gain it back as I waight train. A good tip for a tiny amount of lose skin keep your skin moist for any gains I use a in shower body oil. DONT BE HARD ON YOURSELF OUR BODIES CHANGE A LOT IN A LIFETIME.
Ian from NC: I run 26 to 52 miles a day 5 days a week Also Ian from NC: I did the Turkish getup once and took a nap after. Edit and actually he's brought that up as if it's a current stumbling block when he did that in college (probably 50 years ago...)
Sal's last comment I absolutely disagree with. I would not reduce intensity, I would reduce volume. Do less sets, with high intensity, and provide more time for the body to recover between the workouts. This may mean he keeps the same workout (once every 5 days or so), but continues with the same intensity. Why change it if he is seeing results? The only time to reduce intensity is if you are learning the skill of an exercise. Once you learn the skill, raise the intensity back up and you won't need as much overall volume since your body needs more recovery. You will probably end up doing junk volume anyways. More intensity with less volume is great for busy people as workouts are short, less frequent, but still provide a great adaptive response. Doug McGuff and Jay Vincent are big advocates for HIT (High Intensity Training) that cover these principles. It's not all about volume, it's about providing enough intensity with as little works as possible, then allow for recovery with rest and nutrition. The only time to add more volume is when learning the "skill" to perform an exercise correctly.
Must be running 2 hour marathons to be able to fit in 2 sometimes along with weight training not too mention he’s a bit thick for a guy running & lifting as much as he claims
I actually have a similar story. I box 4-5 times a week and was lifting about 3-4 times a week right before boxing. The same push/pull/legs routine i did for 4 years. I noticed little results and was getting flabby. So i did some research and found mindpump, bought the performance 2 weeks ago. After the first 2 days on performance. My body was showing signs of overtraining. I had to dial the intensity back a lot and since i just started and these are very new work outs, i focus mainly on form. I hope this approach is the right way. Any tips on how to incorporate the performance with boxing/mma?
If you're wanting to focus on lifting and building muscle I would cut back the boxing to 1-2 days a week. If you're prioritizing boxing then I would only lift 2-3 days a week max using full body workouts.
It always makes me laugh and kind of cringe when people are heaping praise and thanks on youtubers and podcasters like this guy does at the beginning of this. Ha! You answered my question again. I’m starting to think I have the ALL best questions. Nobody has questions better than me! 🤣🤣🤣 I crack myself up way more than I should! It’s stupid. I’m just being silly! 🤪
i’d like to share my experience starting from what this guys says at 1:14 Listening to you i asked myself exactly this: is it possible that i’m training too much and eating too little?? so i just took a month to try slow down with training volume, cut out the cardio a lot and sligthly increase the calories. Guess what happened?? i gain 5Kg of fat, no more muscle, no more strenght!!!☺️☺️☺️ so from my point of view: should you train less, do less cardio and eat more??? NO!!! what the hell noo! for the love of god!!! as long as you’re able to handle it the more you train the better, the more cardio you do the better, the less calories you are able to mantain without starving but without go in crazy 1000 calories surplus… the better!!! do not listen to this guys people, just go harderd than last time!! that’s stue best way to reach the better results!! 😜😜
I really appreciate you guys breaking down the show into these shorter segments for us.

Same and I’m gaining strength faster by going less frequently. Started with ULUL Rest and am now doing the the upper lower rest repeat.
@@maxrozmiarek5326 Strength is easy to gain basically on any program, gaining strength isn’t a sign of a good program.
@@ryanscott8770 It doesn’t mean it a good program, you can literally gain strength just on any program.

Do both and see! Give it a decent amount time on both protocols. Collect data
For my body its training more frequently unfortunately. I would prefer less training days and going hard but it is what it is.
Harder one trains the longer recovery he needs and less frequently that muscle group can be trained.
Nailed it.
I’ll do as you say, master Yoda!
I personally feel if working out once every five days was getting him great results then that’s exactly what he should’ve been doing.

Right?
@MindPumpShow Ya smug bastards 🤣 but you earned that lol. Thanks for what you do, guys.
For me a women I am so much stronger working out every other day vs every day I have more gains in half the time yes I'm waight training
Jesus dude your arm veins are goals
get on some Test and youll look like that too
Eat beets.
Beets work, or you can use citrulline malate. Sal wouldn't have the vascular appearance without the TRT usage he's been on for half a year.
As far as I know, the only one not using TRT is Justin. However I could be wrong.
I didn't quite get what the answer to the question was. Can someone please clarify for me?
Damn sal is ripped
So which is it harder less often or easier more often?
For true naturals harder less often workouts are the way to go for 99% of people.
2! On 2/22/22👍🏼
