I started breaking up my 3x a week full body workout over 6 days. So the volume is the same but the frequency is higher. I also started doing this with my walking. I usually walk 25-30 minutes a day but now I walk 20 minutes in the morning, 10-15 minutes after breakfast and another 10-15 minutes after lunch. Then I do another 10-15 walk before dark. So now I’m walking twice as much as I did before and it’s easy! What I’ve noticed is I have so much more energy and it’s easier to keep my calories in check because I’m more active during the day. So I don’t have extra down time to eat out of boredom! I’ve never felt better and I seem to be losing some weight. Finally!

Been doing this for 3-4 months now and added 30-40 lbs on all my lifts. Helped me stay consistent since becoming a step dad and life suddenly getting way crazier.
I will add that having a home gym makes a HUGE difference here

I did maps 15 and everything they said was true. Was an advanced lifter and switched to maps 15 advanced version and physique changed for the better, joint pain went away, and my strength increased. Plus an added benefit is more time with the family and you don’t need workout prep with maps 15 like pre-workout drinks.

Did you use the suspension trainer? I have no idea where to hook it up. I have a room with dumbbells, flat bench and a regular door…not a home gym.

Is it everyday, or 5 days a week?

    • @jeffblair9336
      @jeffblair9336 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@drogramadanjohnson1061 it can actually be 7 days a week if you want it to be because there are optional days. I normally did 6 days a week with one day off.

I’ve been trying to get my father to get my dad interested in this program. He claims he doesn’t have enough time because of working, and other daily routines, etc. He currently goes for a 2 mile walk everyday so this would be great to supplement into his routine. He’d love this program! Thanks for all you do, listening to y’all everyday has changed my life.

Been doing this workout for the last 7 months. That is the most consistent I have ever been with my training. Usually I drop off after about 2 months. I've gained considerable strength and I'm a hard gainer and have out on 15 lbs in that time.

I'm a newbie lifter, I've been lifting weights since last 7-8months, and mostly following advice from lifters on TH-cam. Mind pump has helped me a lot in understanding so many things about lifting weights, id just started following a new program which I designed after listening to MPS, mostly compound lifts except pull ups as I neither have that kind of strength, nor have a pull up bar at home where I workout. Maps 15 looks like something that would suit my needs. Thanks for the all the info you guys provide☺

For maybe the past month or so, Ive been doing maybe three sets a day of 10 push ups, 3 pullups, and 1 single leg squat. I do that randomly through out the day, and adding a rep to each one like every week or couple of weeks. Definitely has made me feel a little stronger.

Definitely on-point with this one gentleman. One of the realities of weight training if you use something like a watch to track is that the actual workout time seldom goes over 20m. Of course rest time is included in total time so that can vary greatly depending on intensity and volume, which really gets to the fundamentals of managing volume and intensity you guys were going over. This reminds me of seeing a stat on how much actual play time in a football game (15 to 20m), which is essentially just sets and reps with ridiculous intensity.

As a mum to a toddler who only has 1 nap now, MAPS 15 advanced is so good, its what im doing at the moment swapping with MAPS bands. One of the key things is have time to prime properly. I feel like im getting a better workout in than when I'm doing longer workouts, because i can actually get the priming in and can focus on form and tempo, rather than feeling a bit stressed that I'm not going to be done with the workout in time. MAPS Bands is awesome too, really helped me with my form and strengthening the end range of my squat, as i was already hyper mobile before baby. Also because it was fully bands, i didn't have to worry about toddler being asleep, it was safe to do with him as there are no heavy weights as a hazard. When im traveling for work i take bands with me and swap from MAPS15 advanced to MAPS bands if i have the extra time and hotel doesn't have a decent gym.

Love the show! Have learnt so much from you guys, really helped me to see quick results after getring back in the gym. One thing you have discussed before and didnt mention in this episode was muscle activation frequency and the benefit of sending that signal to the body more often (more times) by spreading out the workouts and also hitting it again within the correct time frame keeping all the major muscle groups in the activated buulding phase as opposed to hitting the muacle groups once a week and only sending that sigbal once. So not only is form better, reps cleaner, weight likely to be increased, fatigue factor removed, all as mentioned.......your keeping the body "activated" and therefore reaping more reward from the imporvments already mentioned.......its like double dipping! I always have time for a quick 15 min!
Thanks for the quality info, cant wait for the next one.

I used to be a runner who almost never did strength training until I sprained my ankle last December, then I pivoted hard into calisthenics during my recovery since I was used being quite active. Much of this episode rings very true for me as I would do 25-minute sessions 4-5 times a week and made decent progress. I'm back to running now, but I still keep calisthenics as part of my fitness routine as I love the feeling of pushing to failure.

15 minutes, nice! Now I have 45 minutes to get motivated for my hour workout time.

I've been following you guys for a while now and I love your content, i recommend it to everyone I know. I would love to win maps 15 to give it away to one of the guys I work with, that is trying to get into working out. Doug, Drew do your thing!!

I hear you and I want to change. I am scared to cut down the frequency/volume of training though... Finding the “right amount” is key, not “hammering the body” 😅 Easier said than done! 😅

Very intrigued by this, I have a sleep disorder and I believe I overdo the training.
