Thank you! I appreciate this. I don't understand why it doesn't occur to them to make these scoopers with longer handles to facilitate those who are physically impared or older?
Hey there! I did try a great litter scoop that was made to be used standing up, but it was discontinued. You may have some success with this one from iPrimio, though I can't vouch for it based on hands-on experience: www.amazon.com/iPrimio-Scoop-Monster-Litter-Scooper/dp/B07K634TR8
Speaking of scoopers ... I just today saw a video with "kittenlady" Hannah Shaw promoting a product called Litter Genie. I'd never heard of it before but the video made it sound like it works similarly to a diaper genie, so scoop needed. Have you had any experience with this product, Mallory?
I bought litter lifter. Honestly didn't think it'd be so different when scooping. There's a HUGE difference. Since this scooper picks up the small clumps, the litter box is noticeably cleaner all the time.
Love the Litter Lifter scoops, the peaked tines make a difference. Used the regular ones for clay litter, changed to pine pellets, and now use the Litter Lifter pellet scoop which is far superior to those cheap, flimsy little scoops they give you with a Tidy Cats Breeze box for example. I will add that I wish I had switched to pine pellets a long time ago. The pellets are so much more pleasant to use, and clean than clumping clay.
Yeah, most plastic ones are flimsy (looking at you, Target store brand), but not the Litter Lifter. That sucker is solid as heck. I have three, the oldest being at least five years old, and even the thinner sifter parts are still completely intact.
I ended up getting a metal cat litter box (so I don't have to replace plastic ones that get scratched and smelly), so now I don't like to use metal on it because it scratches. But I really do like how sturdy the metal ones are.
@@sqprr A metal kitty box?? I'll have to look at those. Seems like it would be a lot cleaner. Although I would have to go back to the plastic scooper because of the metal on metal sound. Yuck....nails on a chalkboard. LOL
been suscribed for a couple few years now and on behalf of my whole family of cat dads and moms we are all grateful for your videos and knowledge and expertise, thank you! 😺
The litter lifter. Based on this video I bought one for me and I bought one for my daughter. Number one this thing is truly like magic. It literally picks up only what you want it to. Number two it does it in less than half the time that my other scoop does. Number three it picks up twice as much in half the time compared to my old scoop. I know people talk about plastic and complains that this thing breaks. The only thing I can think of is that you are doing some things that you’re not supposed to do with this thing. Because it is solid, very strong and thick plastic. If you bash this thing against the side of your box or pound it or do something that you probably shouldn’t do it may break. But you have to try really really hard. Spend the $12, get this thing, because this review is spot on. I will never buy a different scoop. Thank you so much for the recommendation it’s just amazing how much better it is.
It’s so satisfying to watch when the scoop goes into the litter, raise up and just the waste on it don’t need to sift sift sift. I thought 3 scoop and neither fulfilled that satisfaction. First two bought because I initially had wood pellets so it was intended to sive the saw dust but my kitty hated the pellets gave away so now onto tofu litter kind of shape. Which all require quite a bit of sifting. Always sticking, lots of sifting and sticking. Sifting resulted in lots tiny crumbs which had to take even more time to pick those out individually
If you have trouble removing the litter / waste mixture that gets stuck in your metal or plastic cat litter scooper, check out the stainless steel "Scooper Cleaner" . Its a must have if you scoop cat litter manually!
After watching this awesome review and getting a fantastic scooper I now encourage my cats to use the litter box as often as possible while I'm working the garage. Thanks!
Love your informative videos. We the are proud parents of 8 cats, all rescued and each with their own individual personalities. They certainly make our lives better. In saying that, they do come with maintenance, and that equals money. So your recommendations and explanation of products help us take better care of our cat household and make wiser decisions when it comes to buying products for them.
I see that Litter Lifter now has a pellet scoop now on Amazon. Thank you for this and many others of your videos I’ve been watching. You are thorough & honest as well as someone who takes a very logical approach to your reviews. Well done!
Yes, Litter Lifter does crack at the corner. However, it still works and is not breaking where I would not be able to use it. It’s been a couple of years with the broken and 7-8 years overall. Favorite litter - World’sBest.
I just adopted a cat and bought the DuraScoop. This is my first cat, so I can't really compare it to any other scoopers, as I haven't used any. But I'm really liking it so far!
I actually hate the sifting box for the pine litter as it produces so much dust therefore I use a scoop. Feline Pine Pellets does not have as much dust as the pine bedding for horses which is sold at Tractor Supply. I go with the Tractor Supply pine pellets because it is so much cheaper. For a 40 pound bag of Tractor Supply pellets is $7.49 which includes the tax. For Feline Pine, which is superior to TS, costs 25.00 for a 40 pound bag. I am thinking a scoop with round holes would be the way to go (for me) to use for the pine pellets. I am trying out different scoops now but so far the holes in them are so much smaller. I will get back to you all when I find a good one. So far I can only find them on Amazon so it's hard to know the size hole in the scoop that would be perfect. But I am going to give it my best shot. Thank you for the video!! As always, your videos are very informative and very helpful in making wise buying choices.
Hey hey Mallory! Good to see you. I've been using the iPrimio since 2017 and it's been great but of course with your recommendation the Litter Lifter has just been ordered! (With your link) Thank you.
When I was running with over a dozen clumping litter boxes the litter lifter was the go-to for scooping duty. Would also suggest using a 5 gallon bucket with kitchen bags if you gotta do a lot of boxes or a 2 gallon bucket and grocery bags if you only have a few. Having something that holds the bag open wide makes the process a lot easier/faster.
A long time ago my late wife had a countertop deep fat fryer, about the size of a crockpot. It came with a steel scoop that resembled a large, shallow slotted spoon. When the fryer eventually failed, she relegated the scoop to litter box duty ... until I bought new ones specifically for litter box use.
I've had the DuraPets Jumbo Litterscoop for about 5 months now which isn't a very long time, but I can honestly say its a very good purchase and will last me a very long time. Its very sturdy, and because its on the larger side I feel like it gets things done faster.
For pine pellets, the best litter scoop is a stainless steel skimmer. It works great at lifting out feces with minimal capture of clean pellets, and it helps in stirring disintegrated litter down the pan slots without having to shake the box. Bonus is that it is easy to clean even after nasty messes (just let it sit in the toilet for a bit with some cleaner, then swish it around) and can be had for less than $2.
When using pine pellets, scoops only work at removing poop. A sifting box separates poop and pellets from sawdust, so you still have to remove the poop.
Litter Lifter has a pellet scoop, and I haven't found anything that works better with pine pellets. I did experience broken Litter Lifter scoops using clay litter, I've never broken one of the pellet ones due to the much lighter weight of pine pellets.
Here's what I'm looking for, and it is the opposite of the way pellet scoops are designed. Most pellet scoops are designed to let pellets fall thru so you can scoop the poop, but I use tongs for that. So what I want is a scoop that holds the pellets while letting the sawdust fall quickly thru the scoop. I would then scoop all the pellets into another litter box leaving sawdust behind in the original litter box which I would then discard. I've tried this with some litter scoops, but I've had to shake them to get the sawdust to fall thru while trying not to shake pellets back into the litter box . Is there a scoop that will hold pellets while letting sawdust fall quickly thru the scoop without shaking it?
Thank you for the excellent well rounded review. I agree that the Litter Lifter is a step above the rest. The only thing I like better is a small sharp scoop that helps me deal with the rounded corners on my litter box. It came with the box but I use it with both the boxes. My big rectangular box would probably be best scooped with the litter lifter but I just plow through with one scoop. In any case you did a great job!!! Thanks again.
The scoopers only work if you're young & can bend down ok. I bought a scooper that extends but it doesn't stay extended nor is the scoopers large enough to scoop & get underneath the litter. Plus the corners need not to be rounded so it can get into the corners of the box & the scoopers it self needs to have more of a curve. I need a shovel for my cat LOL
I found the litter lifter years ago and immediately threw out any other litter scoop. My sister who a HATES scooping the box even loved it when she took care of my cats while i was moving.
For pine pellets I like to use a regular litter scooper, and use it as a mini sifter over the trash bag since the loose parts go into the bag and the pellets can be dumped back in + a regular sifting litter box for the rest that you can’t scoop up
It would be nice if you reviewed the Canadian brands Canisource Grand Cru and Oven Baked Tradition I heard only good things about those two brands but I want to see a proper review from you
I use the same sifting litter box for pine litter but it does still help to have a scoop or something similar to handle the poop and to help sift the used litter to the bottom. Any cheap one will work
I have a Litter Genie. The scoop that came with it is terrible because it's so wide and as I am dumping the litter it falls outside the hole on top of the genie onto the floor. Looks like the first one may help solve that problem because it looks narrower. And may hold the litter in better on the sides. Have to look at it on Amazon. Thank you for sharing this information. Also I have shared your videos with friends.
I'm looking for a litter scoop that doesn't get cat litter stuck to it then I have to peel the wet litter off of it, I'm disappointed in the Slide cat litter that stuff was sticking to my scoops, as much as I hate the dust from The World's best cat litter this litter does not and never has stuck to my scoop or the litter box and I have 8 cats. The sticking to the scoops is my problem with my scoops.
I use pellet litter for my 3 cats and really like it (I use the sifting method) but struggle to find a good litter scoop to scoop out the poop while allowing the pellets to fall through easily. I'll check into the Petfusion you mentioned (last option). Anyone else here have a good recommendation for pellet litter scoop?
my reply was deleted for some reason. I've done the pellet method and a good scoop for the poop and letting pellets through is Depets scoop on a- ma- zon. Also, tip for cheap pellets is at trac tor su pply as pelletized bedding
As always love your videos. I have the litter lifter (and have had the iPrimio one as well), but I currently have switched to sort of medium size crystal litter (similar to fresh step premium crystals) and both of these scoops can get some of the crystals stuck in openings annoyingly. Do you have a recommendation that has larger openings to properly let crystals fall through? The litter lifter comes so close, but I hate when it starts getting jammed up.
Hi! Uhm this is not related to the video, but may i ask why is my pregnant cat weak for a week? She only eats a little and only drinks water a lot. And just now i can see her limping, maybe because of the babies inside her tummy? Her face is getting so skinny tho😢. I just want to have an answer since i’m getting so worried😭. Yet, i loved your video, definitely a great way to rate and determine litter scoops!
Definitely take her to the vet I’ve had lot of pregnant cats and none of them limped or their face didn’t go skinny I’ve heard that few days before they have kittens they can go off food and not eat much but I’d definitely go to the vets just to be safe
@@annettefinn6934 Unfortunately, I can’t afford to take my cat to the vet. But i realized today is her 60th day after being in-heat. So Maybe today is her 60th day of pregnancy. Yet, Thank you for answering my question. She’s already quite eating now, and has more energy. She literally follows me everywhere😂. Sadly, She still limps a little bit. Her leg was a LITTLE BIT enlarged, but she can still walk. Maybe because of a bite? that may cause the swelling of her leg😢, yet i don’t really know what’s the cause of it.
My 11 year old male cat was recently diagnosed with diabetes. His pees are huge and sticking to the litter box. I have a large metal scooper but it’s still difficult to scrape out and remove some of his urine waste. I’m trying different litters but we also need a litter box with extra high sides. I guess I’m looking for a good litter and scooper for my diabetic cat.
Been missed seeing this channel . Was away at camp. Came back to couple problems. I guess one of my cats have eaten a loaded flea. So now Ive been dealing with that. I was told the tape/flea worms aren’t really detrimental just disgusting. Yes they are. Phobic of anything squirming and small. Also a problem another problem. I’ll ask doc on the health stream.
Hi Mallory! Have you done a review on cat trimmers/clippers for matted cats? From what I've read, many get very hot quickly, the blade dulls after 3 uses, or they're too loud. Thank you for any recommendations you can share.
We haven't done that on All About Cats yet, but you can find a review of these products written on another site here: www.kittycatter.com/best-cat-hair-clippers/
@@AllAboutCatsYT Thank You!!!! I chose the OneIsAll (free returns if it doesn't work out). I need a good clipper asap for my cat's strange fur that mats even though we have a brushing session every day, using different types of brushes and dematting tools. If I didn't experience this myself, I'd say the person is lying about brushing their cat every day. My cat gets mats no matter what I do.
I got tired of the plastic scoops breaking all of the time. I finally put on my big girl pants and bit the bullet and bought the metal scoop with the spongy handle from Amazon several years back. I will never go back to a plastic scoop. Ever.
I actually cut up the boxes the cat food comes in into rectangles to use as disposable poop scoops. Goes straight into mini freezer bags with the poop and out they go.
I have to vote for the litter lifter the metal ones the clay sticks. I also use a metal spoon to clean the separators it has and. The corner of my litter boxes. The metal ones are hard everything sticks. My litter lifter has not broken it’s been 2 years.
So , This doesn’t have to do with scoops . I want to build a cat habitat to keep my. Cats safe and Happy at the River where I live , I want to build it connected to the building on my pier any good plans ?

I have a Litter Genie. The scoop that came with it is terrible because it's so wide and as I am dumping the litter it falls outside the hole on top of the genie onto the floor. Looks like the first one may help solve that problem because it looks narrower. And may hold the litter in better on the sides. Have to look at it on Amazon. Thank you for sharing this information. Also I have shared your videos with friends.
Linda, the Litter Lifter is actually a little bit too wide for the Litter Genie, too!
Hi! Love your cat content ❤️ Could you please review Lucy Pet foods?
I'm looking for a litter scoop that doesn't get cat litter stuck to it then I have to peel the wet litter off of it, I'm disappointed in the Slide cat litter that stuff was sticking to my scoops, as much as I hate the dust from The World's best cat litter this litter does not and never has stuck to my scoop or the litter box and I have 8 cats. The sticking to the scoops is my problem with my scoops.
Boooom! Liked and shared to facebook!
Thank you, Mark!
Haven't tried pellet litter. How big are they?
my reply was deleted for some reason. I've done the pellet method and a good scoop for the poop and letting pellets through is Depets scoop on a- ma- zon. Also, tip for cheap pellets is at trac tor su pply as pelletized bedding
I have sifting litter boxes so I don't worry much about the scoop
@@svenno9951 I'll check into the scoop, thank you! And I use the same pellets from the farm supply store too.
@@GingerTheSpoiledCat Fairly chunky. No tracking mess which I really like.
I've had the same one for the past 5 years from the petstore. What kind of poops yall picking up with your scoops to break them? Lol
@@annettefinn6934 oh i just wanted to ask, How many days does your cats normally give birth?
I have had 5 litter an 3 of them there was only 3 in it but one had only one and another had five but three seems to be most common
Sorry read the question wrong I’m honestly not sure as they have been strays I’ve adopted or fostered
Hello. Have you ever tried metal litter scoop?
It's in the video!
Does anyone know where I can purchase the litter lifter in Canada ?
I LOVE the Litter Lifter and recommend it to ally cat owning friends!
Now you're almost at 200k!!! Congrats!!!
I don't plan on buying a Sifting litter box..I prefer the Tidy Cat Breeze XL box. 😺
Litter lifter also comes in nice colors 😁
Good point!
Ever.
How do you feel about grass seed cat litter?
Great! Smart Cat is one of my favorites.
Interesting question! You might get some good inspiration from this site: catiospaces.com/catios-cat-enclosures/
Mallory ❤️
I maybe my cats' dutiful servant, yet come eating time they're my most persistent followers 🥰
Hi Mallory..
They appreciate your skills as a kitchen servant! 😼As always, thanks for being here, Rico!
I think if the litter lifter cracks in the corner it could easily be repaired with some plastic glue
nice
Leave it to Mallory to give us the scoop on the poop scoops.
woo!!!!
Hi Chum, congratulations on being first! :D
Hopefully you see this comment!!!
How often do you clean the litter scoop?
Best method to clean the scoop?
Once every three months or so should be good; I like using an old toothbrush and an enzymatic cleaner. :)
I'm Not buying a Sifting litter box! I likey Tidy cat Breeze box. I don't plan on buying any more litter boxes.
Which litter is recommended? Fresh Step’s “Clean Paws” is a bad joke. Large litter is everywhere! They claim it stays in the litter box
Geri, you can see our recommendations for the best cat litter here: th-cam.com/video/Oe9gsyg7H30/w-d-xo.html
Sometimes my plastic ones break.
How do you dump into a litter champ with a huge scooper lik the litter lifter?
