I’ve found some beautiful belts from the thrift stores - particularly thin ones for belt loops and wide ones for the waist. I love having many belts to choose from.
I love the second look with the belt folded! I used to never leave the house without a belt in high school then kind of stopped wearing them over the past 10 years. I’m definitely going to start experimenting with belts in the future and will keep this wrap style in mind! Thank you for the video 💕
I have 4 belts I love. A lighter brown skinnier belt with a gold buckle, a black one with a cool gold buckle (and a matching brown one) and then my favorite, a reversible embossed gold and plain black with a beautiful gold buckle. Great video!
Love your videos Audrey I always look forward to receiving that notification. I am not in your age group but that is the beauty of timeless classics as you can look elegant whatever your age. A collection of really good pieces and knowing how to wear them is the key to it all. Paula McPherson/ Portsea/ Victoria/ Australia.
Audrey, that animal print scarf look so good on you! Yesterday I saw one like that but I thought that is too much, but it looks so good on you, I wish I would've buy it 😟
Jess T check tjmaxx or Marshall’s. I find scarfs there all the time and they offer high end brands at 70 percent off. Another fav is Nordstrom rack.com. Good luck and happy hunting
I really enjoyed this video. I have several belts but rarely wear any. I am small and athletically built but also a straight shape with little difference between my hip and waist and bust measurements so I find myself reluctant to emphasize my waist with a belt. I think I need to donate some of my belts that I will never wear and wear the others. I like your examples of how you wear them. It helps a lot. I have a belt I bought from jcrew honestly 20 years ago and it still looks so great. A good belt really does last!
Hey Audrey, I just wanted to say I've been watching your videos for a few days and they've been very helpful! I'm in my 20s but I'm trying to slowly build a wardrobe of timeless pieces that will last me for years. Your videos are incredibly useful for this purpose and they're pleasing to the eye and the ears :) Thank you for the effort you put into making the videos, it's great quality content!
I'm a new subscriber. Actually, I purchased a belt and a couple scarves not too long ago because of your helpful videos. These are things I would have never looked at but I am inspired because of you. :)
this is such a great option for me! I'm one of those people who just can't be bothered accessorizing much more than maybe a necklace once in a while. My shoes are minimal shoes as well, so no heels, wide toebox, and while more companies are making fancier ones, i don't feel the need to buy more than 2 or 3 pairs for actual practical use. So a belt is honestly a good thing to think about, since I always have one for my jeans anyways, adding in one more in another color would be perfect! And thank you so much for adding in the lookbook at the end, I am definitely a visual learner haha
I love belts and I am glad we are tucking shirts and that belts are back. I love statement belts but they are very difficult to find. I like interesting buckles but even in vintage shops there isn't much selection.
My favourite belt is one I bought from a tack store, when I was working at a lot of sales barns and riding horses recreationally. I was quite competitive at a fairly accomplished level in dressage, and shifted over to hunters after a period of time, both are typically disciplines that adhere to traditional styles. I purchased a plain black leather belt with a silver stirrup for the belt buckle, and I still wear it even though I'm not riding at this time. I'm now looking for a similar belt with a plain gold buckle, while silver is my metal of choice gold is much more popular and so I like to have the option :) The belt I have is by Tory Leather, and they make other classic leather belts, with a lot of equestrian-inspired options, for anyone who might be looking. Also pretty decently priced!
Well, I'm adding a great belt to my fall/winter wish list. I love how you illustrated the different ways to style belts with outfits. More wonderful ideas!
I love belts. I have wide hips and a narrow waist, so adding a belt to a dress or jacket is a way that I like to give my silhouette a little more shape if I'm feeling overwhelmed by fabric or just plain frumpy. I never considered the reversible belt, such a great idea! Thanks, Audrey. :)
Really excellent video Audrey, as usual ! Thanks to you I realize I could take much more advantage of the belts I already own, not even considering buying new ones. The look book is great too !
I have one belt in a narrow band, cream in color and small buckle. Looks great under a stretch, knit top or with a tucked in shirt as well as over a cardigan.
I love your videos so much! And thanks for featuring a Naadam cashmere sweater in one of your videos. I had been looking for a more “ethical” cashmere company and they seem very good. And now for a request : a few other youtube folks have done “what I wore this week” type videos and I would absolutely LOVE to see one on your channel! Your style is so great and I would like to see how it works for you on an everyday basis! Take care!
I actually bought something you wisely advise not to do - a designer belt with a logo. Yep, it's the flashiest thing I own (I'm not a label-wearer). But I loved this specific logo, and I wear it with black skirts that match the belt and pumpkin- and other warm-colored tops that complement the brass buckle and tone things down a bit. Fewer and fewer skirts have belt loops and most pants seem only to accommodate narrow belts, so I've learned to really think through belt purchases. Keep those lovely lookbooks coming!
Omg you and your hair look amazing! I just started wearing some belts ive had for years and never wore, and after seeing this I suddenly want 1 more! The double sided!! Yess! a brown and black :) Love your content!
Time for me to donate some skinny belts I bought in the 80s and you are right-they are so thin that they get lost when I sit down. I still have a classic black 1" belt that actually lets you change from bronze to a silver buckle. I also added a hole but I had my shoe repair place punch the leather-do NOT try this yourself! I have loved every single video you have put out-but I haven't seen them all. Thank you for your lovely presentation and you have a wonderful voice. ♥
I used always to wear a belt, but somehow I stopped a few years ago. You inspire me to check what I have stashed in the closet and put at least the good ones to use again. I suspect they're a mixed bag, but we'll see!
Great video Audrey. As I am by no stretch of the imagination a minimalist, I own many, many belts. I can use your suggestions to pare down the number of belts I own. It will be difficult as I love them all even though some are not worn too often.
a while ago i saw a picture of someone wearing a sweater and a light brown belt around the waist on top of the sweater. after seeing your video, i will try it this fall.
Love this and love belts! Such a great way to change up a look or smarten up a look. How do you add holes to your belts? Do you have a special tool? Any suggestions? Also: would love to know the best way to fold a scarf (and size of scarf needed) and etc to achieve that belted scarf style. So lovely! Thanks!
my belts are as simple as yours. Then I have statement belts from Judith Leiber. They are vintage. Well, they weren't vintage when I bought them in the 1980s. I love them, they are treasures
H Audrey I really like your belt collection...are you able to make a video featuring all your belts and brands pls and where to buy them? Looking forward to your reply😊
I love this video! My favorite look has to be the scarf and belt combo. Can you share your scarf measurements? I'd like to find one that is large enough to style this way. A favorite belt I've had for years is a vintage plaid belt in red. It's small enough to wear around my waist, and it looks great with bulky sweaters, and simple dresses. Thanks again for this awesome video, Audrey!😊🌸✨
Lovely! I have a rather embarrassingly large collection of belts 🤗. Some of my favorites are my 80’s Judith Leiber’s, adjustable, as well as my Hermès turn lock adjustable belt. I’m not quite five feet tall, so my clothing choices are more limited, but I go nuts with bags, belts and shoes 😎
Very helpful video. I love the belt over blazer look. I have a lot of belts but just do not seem to wear but can not seem to part with many. Not sure why but I am also the same way with scarves. I really wish I could get tough and purge what I do not use. I have an unrelated question. Does silk cause someone to perspire? The reason I ask, is I have many nice blouses that I bought from Express (the portofino style) but they are made from polyester and I tend to sweat. I like them because they don't wrinkle and they look great for office or front tucked with jeans. What would be a better alternative? Thank you Audrey.
The belt I wear the most on an everyday basis is... old military surplus! I'd recommend giving that a try. I complained to mom how hard it is to find a good quality leather belt at a decent price (back then I was a student on a tight budget), and she brought me this one. It's very sturdy, which can be a bit uncomfortable if I do it up too tight, but is otherwise a great advantage overall - I can trust this one to last for years and years. The only downside to it is that the buckle is painted with a khaki-ish colour, so it's definitely only casual. (Which isn't a problem with my job, but that's my job. But maybe different militarys have different styles.)
love the video :) a nice belt is on my need list. I have a question and maybe a video suggestion: how to wear casual clothes but still look nice and somewhat elegant? i have my dressy clothes and accessories for work or going out, but sometimes in the weekend i don't do anything special, just go grocery shopping, take a walk, go to the park or walk around town. or i visit friends and it's very casual. i want to be comfortable (don't want to wear blazers for example), don't want to look too dressed up, but still nice. basically i want to feel as comfortable as i would in sweat pants and a hoodie but not look like it :)) any tips? as always, love your channel and you inspire me all the time. ❤️❤️❤️
Audrey has a video about wearing loungewear-sweatshirts and legging or joggers. Wonderful as usual with tips about how to quickly dress it up a bit if you have to run an errand/shop.
I added a 1/2-in leopard calf hair over a year ago and love having it. Wish I were small enough to wear a belt over blazer, but not for me. Here's my tip, don't overlook men's and boy's depts for belts. Sometimes you can find an interesting, elegant look there for less.
I love your Sabina Savage scarf! The way you styled in is absolutely amazing! What is the fabric composition? Do you have any tips for scoring a second hand Sabina Savage scarf? Any ideas how to get one on sale? Beautiful but such a steep investment piece. =)
Thanks for the video! How do you add holes to your belts? I've done it to some of my cheaper ones, but I have a leather one that I would like to add some holes to, but I'm afraid to ruin it!! 😁
As always excellent video. I personally don’t like belts because I’ve always felt like my waist is not small enough to look good with a belt even though my waist it is smaller than my hips and chest but still, every time I put on a belt I totally hate it. Now that i am 40 and my way of dressing is changing i realize i do need at least one belt to wear with jeans and my husband bought me a Chanel a few weeks back but I still haven’t even taken it out of the box. I tell him I should start with a more affordable kind 😝 anyways Audrey you showed us some great ideas here and specially the double sided one. Thank you ☺️

Belts are all too big for me. I really need a nice, brown leather belt in medium thickness that fits in my waist - but I just can't find it and neither can I find a proper leather holepuncher. It's annoying to say the least.
In an emergency, you can also burn a hole with a red-hot nail, but only in real leather. Choose a nail a bit smaller than the existing holes (you can always go up a size if necessary, but you can't make a big hole smaller!). With your non-dominant hand hold the belt taut over the opening in a cup or a jar with the place where you want the hole centred. With your dominant hand hold the nail with pliers in a flame till the tip glows red, then apply the point where the hole is to be. If the leather's very thick it might take a couple of goes, but it works like a charm. Thank you Mum, the shoemaker's daughter!
Would love a video on dusters, cardigans, kimonos and where they should hit you etc.
I didn’t even know I NEEDED to know all of this information about belts. But I did. I really did.
Since you mentioned being short waisted, could you do a video on this? It's meaning and styling hacks. Love your videos and style.
I really liked the look of belts with scarf. Such a great style.
I’ve found some beautiful belts from the thrift stores - particularly thin ones for belt loops and wide ones for the waist. I love having many belts to choose from.
I love the belt with the scarf. What a great idea!

Great lesson. I love belts. I usually wear one every day. Sometimes I even like the belt with the buckle on the side or even on the back.

Timeless and classic comes to mind when I see your videos your perfection and so lady like

I love belts especially with a dress or over a shirt! I love the shape it gives me! They are a must have accessory for me👍😊
I feel so glad and grateful that I found this classy channel.
Loved your scarves in this video. Please do a video on the various types of scarves and how to style them.
I love all the outfits you put together, I can't believe they are older pieces. Beautifully done
This is exactly what I was hoping for! Thank you! You've inspired me to try vintage belt shopping!
Thank you for this! I've been adding belts to my wardrobe lately. Anthropologie has some great belts. Have a great day Audrey!

I've been looking for something like this to help me with belts! Thank you so much!!

You're lovely and refreshing, thank you for sharing your belt knowledge. I'll definitely subscribe after I type this message 😊❤️
Very informative fashion video, love it. The look book is definitely the highlight.
So happy I found this video
fantastic sharing. thank you so much. and you look fantastic in your outfits
Love your beautiful, well crafted videos - Would be thrilled to see a video on classic jeans ( Levi + advice on how to shop in men's wear section)
You look beautiful!!! i am not a belt person, but i do have a few skinny belts and wide stretchy ones.Maybe i need to declutter...
In love with the Sabina Savage scarf. Is it the 135cm x 135cm scarf? Or is it the rectangular stole?
Definitely love a reversible belt with a removable buckle, better yet if a single buckle can be mixed/matched with multiple belts!
a while ago i saw a picture of someone wearing a sweater and a light brown belt around the waist on top of the sweater. after seeing your video, i will try it this fall.
Love this and love belts! Such a great way to change up a look or smarten up a look. How do you add holes to your belts? Do you have a special tool? Any suggestions? You look fantastic! And the scarf...omg❤️ Thank you for the great videos you make🙏
Great video! What is your opinion on utilizing scarves as a belt?
ileana alfonso thank you so much! I LOVE the way it looks 😍😍😍
Love your video! What a classy lady! ❤️
my belts are as simple as yours.

Love your videos. Pleasant voice, lovely music, lots of great info.☺️👍🏻
Your videos are so professional!! 😩😍
New to your channel, love your soothing voice :))
Love classic belts!
But maybe different militarys have different styles.)
I just bought white shirt ways over size. It in styles. Thanks for some idea
love the video :) a nice belt is on my need list.
I love your question
I added a 1/2-in leopard calf hair over a year ago and love having it. Wish I were small enough to wear a belt over blazer, but not for me. Here's my tip, don't overlook men's and boy's depts for belts. Sometimes you can find an interesting, elegant look there for less.
TheDriftwoodlover what an amazing tip! Thank you so much for sharing ❤️
love the background song
I love your Sabina Savage scarf! The way you styled in is absolutely amazing! What is the fabric composition? Do you have any tips for scoring a second hand Sabina Savage scarf? Any ideas how to get one on sale? Beautiful but such a steep investment piece. =)

So much class!🌺
Great video love the belts I have the same Zara jacket

Great video Audrey! Thank you🤗
Inspired: the scarf, hair and earrings
Can you do a video about your favorite belts???
Great one! Thx, Audrey, please think about a vid with you singing. :)
Audrey when are you leaving? I am happy to see you here still!
Hi does anyone know what is the brand of the 1st belt audrey shown here its in 56 seconds of the video? Hope anyone can help. Thank you in advance
Where did you buy your elephant belt?
My favourite belt belonged to my ex boyfriend and is older than my 23 year old daughter!! Who incidently borrows it all the time!😂😂😂
Audery may I ask what's your jcrew belt size.
How do you add a hole to a belt?
Nail & hammer
Yes! Either a nail and hammer or you can get a tool on amazon that does it. Or your cobbler can do it :)

How do I wear a belt with an apple shape. They always ride up and make me look pregnant.
Awesome video
Wonderful!!!
Belts are all too big for me. I really need a nice, brown leather belt in medium thickness that fits in my waist - but I just can't find it and neither can I find a proper leather holepuncher. It's annoying to say the least.
@K P I don't even know if I have that in my country. And I wouldn't want to buy from it anyway.
Gitte Van de velde, search on EBay.
Very very nice!!!
I've seen tons of belts that are in great condition at thrift shops, etsy, and ebay! No need to spend too much on belts
Love your intro look , Audrey :))
How do you add a hole in a belt that doesnt look messy?
jenna beneski there are hole punching type tools that you can buy on amazon that make a clean hole or you can have your cobbler do it :)
@@AudreyCoyne Thank you! Keep up the great work :D
Thank you Mum, the shoemaker's daughter!
woow, what a fancy
Hi from Canada. I want to use belts but I have a really really big breast, so it look heaven bigger. So, shoud I use belts or no?
Thanks
I agree about designer brand belts. It really isn’t a good look to me. In my opinion it’s not elegant at all...
Your voice so cute
