Great how to play, it took us quite a while to figure this out when we started. Didn't know/understand the space between settlements though. Yes question, if I build a road longer than 5 & now get the Longest Road card, does the other player that had it still keep their 2 points or are now minus from those 2 points?
Hi there Enricoh, thank you for your message. I am glad that the video was of use :) Do you understand the settlement spacing now? Regarding the longest road, the 2 bonus points stay with the card, so when you build the longest road, that card goes to you along with those 2 victory points. The initial player that had the longest road card does not get to keep those 2 bonus points. And this card, along with those 2 points, can exchange hands until the end of the game. Let me know if this makes sense :)
@@CharlesTertiens wrt spacing we did it as settlement road settlement... way you showed it as settlement road road settlement? like that? Yes thank you for clarifying. Noted on longest cards. I had an extra question, I know the dice roll determines what resource you get. But what resource/s do you start the game with? Also I read this rule that like each color gets certain resources, like blue gets brick etc. What does that refer to? If I roll an 8 and im on wheat do I not get it coz of my color?
@Enricoh Alfonzo there must always be 2 spaces between any Settlement/City. When starting the game, everyone gets the resources surrounding their second placed settlement. Your colour has nothing to do with it, what you read might have been an example relevant to an example game play. It might help watching the video again from 2:20 for the "Starting the game" section. If you rolled an 8, anyone (irrelevant of their colour ... because we don't roll like that 😉) that borders an 8 gets the resources due to them from that tile. Settlements getting 1 resource per tile and Cities 2.
@@CharlesTertiens hahahA I see what you did there. yeah inclusiveness rocks. Re-watched 2:20, understood it alot better this time. We thought you needed a road to a habor to trade. Awesome. Thanks so much! For all the patience & information, really appreciate it. Can't wait to apply it at the next game.
Brilliantly explained
Thanks Mark, that mean a lot.
Great game, excellent explanation.
Ah thanks :) means a lot.
Great! Sounds like a fun game!
It is! There are also so many variants of the game, that makes it so so soooo much funn
25 years old and still luring families to the gaming table. This modern classic will be part of many fond family memories.
That is so so true. There is a reason why it has been a household name for 25 years.
My late uncle & his daughters use to love playing this game, it's probably one of their fondest memories with him.
