Not so scary flying into a southerly. I have been on several flights in the past coming into Wellington (Air NZ 737s) into a strong northerly wind. Flying over Cook Strait and then banking 180 and flying low over the water until landing.
A normal Wellington approach.
Wellington does get some lovely days, but sadly not often, and sadly this type of approach is normal
