Your knowledge on shooting is outdated. The majority of elite shooters, shoot with their feet turned to relieve tension, and his shooting elbow being out during the shot isn't a problem (as long as he isn't rushing to get his elbow in) becuase you only need to be aligned as you're releasing the ball. Also, the reason he kicked his leg to the side on that pull-up was because it was acting as a counterweight to his momentum as he was drifting left. Kobe, MJ, Curry, etc all kick their leg like that when they're shooting inside out pull-ups moving towards their dominant hand side. Smooth energy tranfer and being familair with multiple footworks into your shot are by far the most important factors.
I just basically posted the same comment 😭 he definitely should do a deep dive on new gen shooting mechanics. Nearly everything he pointed out are things that the best shooters in the world utilize
That shot you're alluding to he bricked hard right with no chance for an offensive rebound. There is no sensical position backed by film & data that shows landing on one leg is going to increase shot efficiency. Shooting is about being consistent with your mechanics every single time. The release is the most important. Reggie Miller showed that in the 80's with his horrific shooting form and mechanics, but his release was the exact same every single time. When players are developing their shooting form, doing the same thing over and over again is what develops a foundation based off of muscle memory. When analyzing high school prospects, they are still developing their foundation. This is something that is learned from actually coaching and developing players hands on vs watching them on film. I would implore you to watch young Kobe, MJ and Steph Curry's shooting forms when they were developing their foundation. See what was added year after year when they got to the league. See what their final shooting form was at their prime. Skipping fundamentals at this level will compound mistakes once the margin of error is slim in the NBA. I'm looking forward to your film breakdown.

Thats why with great NBA shooters whenever their legs aren’t square to the rim, they make sure their shoulders are. Dylan needs to master knocking down open shots with his feet/shoulders square everytime. I remember my 2nd jv game I had like 10 turnovers tryna pass it back to the point. Now I dont turn it over, but I dont exactly create an advantage for my team either. How can I get through a trap as a small guard 5'11.. its obviously easier for dylan harper because he 6'5 and can just see over them
Each trap is a case by case basis to defeat. I’d have to see film. A few things are universal: 1. Read the trap early. See who is coming off to trap and tell your man to get to the open space of the floor 2. Hit a big for a quick DHO. Trappers follow the ball. Look up pistol action on TH-cam. 3. Get low and attack the slowest man’s outside hip. Even if you have to dribble along to sideline to stay alive, keep attacking. He’ll eventually fall back or you’ll get past him. Steve Nash was great at this. Ask your coach to watch film with you and work on trap escape scenarios before and after practice.
I like how your break downs are for nba potential not from where he is now when you said he’s not exceptional athletic for the nba he isn’t he’s about average but for high school he is
The only thing objectively wrong is you highlighting ten toes to the rim. Literally no one shoot like this anymore in the NBA. In fact, name me 1 player who’s in the league who does?
@@FadeHook23 God allowed me to train 5 NBA draft picks this year during the predraft process. I agreed in many ways with u, but on this PG stuff I highly disagree. Unless we have moved the goal post on what a pg is🤷🏾♂️, he’s a big guard who can play multiple positions but not a PG….
I watched him at EYBL in Dallas last year. He cries a lot. And when his shot isn't falling, he gets disengaged quick. I'm interested to see how he plays when adversity hits at Texas.

Work on your dribbling 20 mins a day, everyday. Phil Handy has some good Ballhandling drills on TH-cam. th-cam.com/video/Dk65Bq24OyQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=U1OZeBJYwPqNoKY8
Gotta get a vid on Darryn Peterson
Do Isiah Evan’s breakdown or Darius Acuff or Tahaad Pettiford
Scout breakdown on Jalil Bethea
do Jail Bethea
Do VJ Edgecombe next
Rob dillingham next PLEASE
Can you please do VJ edjecombe next
I remember my 2nd jv game I had like 10 turnovers tryna pass it back to the point. Now I dont turn it over, but I dont exactly create an advantage for my team either. How can I get through a trap as a small guard 5'11.. its obviously easier for dylan harper because he 6'5 and can just see over them
Each trap is a case by case basis to defeat. I’d have to see film. A few things are universal:
1. Read the trap early. See who is coming off to trap and tell your man to get to the open space of the floor
Ask your coach to watch film with you and work on trap escape scenarios before and after practice.
you should do trent perry, hes going to the mcdaag
Do isiah evans
High School player JJ Mandaquit
Is he good?
Can you do a poll on what players you wanna do and let us vote?
I usually do that in the TH-cam Community Tab
I like how your break downs are for nba potential not from where he is now when you said he’s not exceptional athletic for the nba he isn’t he’s about average but for high school he is
Please do Jared Mccain
Do Nigel James or kiyan Anthony
Please breakdown tyran stokes
Can we get Tahaad pettiford vid
Do Michael foster Jr
You should do rob dillingham

I like him a lot. He’s going to be a good college guard.
Also after VJ, Jalil Bethea

He’s been suggested a lot. In your opinion, how good is he?
@@DorianGroup82Anthony Edwards is his comp imo he is that good

Can you do Brandon McCoy
VJ Edgecombe
Do tyran stokes

Caleb Wilson next?
Saw him last year at EYBL. Imma hold off until he’s a legit NBA prospect. Still has a lot of room to grow.
You gotta do the G-League ignite prospects Matas Buzelis first and Ron Holland second fr
When they declare, Matas is def first up. And a lot of folks ain’t going to like what I got to say.
Reed Shepard.. and rob dillingham
Along with 15 college all Americans/All Conference players, 10 nationally ranked high school players (3 of which just won a gold medal today) and a myriad of current NBA Players. Everyday we started our workouts with form shooting. Everyone’s feet pointed towards the rim.
Kind of reminds me of an unselfish harden
2 Guard
I agreed in many ways with u, but on this PG stuff I highly disagree. Unless we have moved the goal post on what a pg is🤷🏾♂️, he’s a big guard who can play multiple positions but not a PG….
When he gets drafted, what position are you playing him at and what will be his primary responsibilities?
Tyran stokes vid
he has pro trainers and they would’ve changed his shot js like rob
James Harden
this guy aint mikel brown jr man.
boogie fland
Is Dylan better than his Older Brother?
We need a tre johnson breakdown bro is the best scorer aside from ace bailey imo
I watched him at EYBL in Dallas last year. He cries a lot. And when his shot isn't falling, he gets disengaged quick. I'm interested to see how he plays when adversity hits at Texas.
I like Dink Pate more than Tre. Tre is overhyped in my opinion. His mid range is nice but I see he’s in love with the 3 ball that he’s not that efficient at imo
@@DorianGroup82Yeah must explain why he has dropped in the rankings because he was number 1 in his class during the summer and now he’s just dropped to 5
