That is what I was thinking, so if I had to take a guess I would say maybe 1500.00 I mean consider the state troopers were there not sure exactly how that was treated as a "cop call" or how. If it was the cop call might have been a little cheaper but the rig is totaled either was which is sad. But everyone got out safe and alive and that is what is important when something like this happens. Equipment can be replaced, human and animal life can't.
Recoveries like these usually go much higher than you think . I’m a heavy tow truck driver and I charge $10k for something like this . A lot of time goes into this and bringing in a crane is more money
I did towing and storage settlement in Canada for a couple insurers. This exact scenario I've paid $30k for but they had to bring in the only 80 ton rotator from out of province. I've paid $22k for a car through ice with a deceased driver inside but most of that was the cost of police dive teams to locate the car. 3 times I've seen heavy tow bills over $100k not including environmental cleanup. A tow that costs $3k in Northern Ontario will cost $30k in the GTA and that's after you spend a month talking them down from $50k.
Apparently, "Ace Towing" has no clue what they're doing. In the first part of the video, the cable is coming off the boom at a huge angle & trying to roll the tow truck. Had the boom been facing the back of the van, a couple of huge snatch blocks used and a triple or quadruple line pull been used, that one tow truck would've been more then adequate to get back up to the highway.
Good comment. Not sure I agree on that single truck being able to pull the entire rig up that bank. But, I too was very surprised to see that operator on the down hill side of that tilt. Recipe for disaster.
Actually I'll bet its about 90% salvageable and in decent shape with all things considered.. a water damaged bunk area and the electronics system shot. I've seen them smack trees, boulders, freight scatted all over the road and a total wipeout. I would like to see the freight and if it damaged though.
I would never have guessed that the clip was sped up, I heard you Oregonyites were pretty fast compared to us Idehoers next door! ;) Ya know he went to sleep at the wheel due to your boring speed limit right!!
OK Dude why do they over charge? Look dude, they showed up to a shit head who drove his truck & trailer into the lake. They tried to get it out with what they showed up with. It did not work. Call in the heavy artillery. Anything goes. They were able to retrieve the trailer on this day. Codes to the recovery crew who ever they wore. You know once you showed up at the scene, it was more than bargained for. Charge the company for every penny. I like to fish. If I could not fish in this lake because this driver could not control his truck while passing this lake, O.K. Cut him some slack. But charge the shit out of him.
3:05 Looking good, but this other wrecker needs to be further back with boom up to do what it is now... hmmm... Then pull up to bank.. I'm guessing by my own experience there will be lots more done here. Pretty smooth. Nice finish. The laod was everything in this one. Must've been empty. Thumbs up.
0:19 This operator is seriously messing up right now... He could roll the wrecker into the lake this away. The Semi is very heavy, what's thinking. lol
Ok so why did they just use two Rotators? Two Century 1075 75 Ton Rotators would have been able to do the job easily two smaller Rotators could have done that job easily.
Que chulada como trabajan los grulleros. Aqui en mexico lis grulleros. Ya hubieran destasado esa caja. Aqui les vale madre como rescaten un vehiculo lo asen garras cobran mucho por aser sus pendejadas

That was impressive. No damage that I could see. Props to the recovery crew.
Now when it is in water isn't it a vessel?
What a great team and Great Job! I can only imagine the cost of this tow! WHOA!!

That truck might not have started out as a refrigerator truck but it definately was in the end
lol
It was a reefer you can see the unit in the front of the trailer
dam, i wanted to see how they removed the tractor.
Pretty cool, would have loved to seen the cab be removed as well.
Crazy amounts of weight to be pulling! Amazing how machines work.
That’s a whopper! How many lines can you use in Oregon when fishing?

Where were the PFD's?? Even more trouble had one or more gone thru the ice.
Did he dip his headlights
How to recover a semi ( TRAILER ONLY) from a frozen lake
lg
Do you have vid of the cab being extracted?
did anyone call the receiver and tell them that their load is on ice and it going to be late getting there

I would hate to see the towing bill for this
Especially from Ace Towing, they overcharge for everything.

i got a better one: try explaining that to your boss how it happened
If I towed that I'd ram it to'em!!!
I like this kind of video. Another Large Car saved.
Did he really try and pull out a tractor trailer, weighted down by ice and water, with a single line, medium weight wrecker?
Clearly have no clue. Then get a crane instead of the right tow truck.
Thumbs up.
how much did that recovery cost.. damn
ALOT of $$$$$$$$
0:19 This operator is seriously messing up right now... He could roll the wrecker into the lake this away. The Semi is very heavy, what's thinking. lol
these dudes are fast. 4 minute recover time has to be some kind of a record
Your joking of Course. Lol
this story actually made it to National News! I saw it on HLN this morning
Was is about the truck adding more pollution to an already polluted lake?
I wonder if that's the Columbia gorge river area I was right Organo been there
I was there tabling east bound right after it happened, the windows of the cab were at water level. What a mess. Im glad there was no injuries
when it was stuck maybe a flotation bag under the front to aid lift. just guessing.
probaby a rookie swift driver .thought the cruise control means the same as auto pilot .
C'mon now... Rookie Swift driver says thats what the blow up doll in the back is for...
--- See Water In For Treat
Tim, You mean it's not?
THE SEMI WAS NEVER RECOVERED ONLY THE TRAILER.............MISLEADING TITLE!!!
That's team work between Crain tow truck and the people involved..
looks like he decided to practice for ice road truckers.
this should be a red bull commercial or how to stay worm while working in the cold
1000%?
Where's Ron Pratt when you need him
must have had a load of fish for the lake!
see what happens when your dispatchers pisses you off
lol
maybe the driver forgot it was bath day
THAT TOW TRUCK CREW MUST HAVE GOT SOME GOOD STUFF FROM THAT TRUCKER, THEY WERE QUICK ON GETTING THAT TRUCK REMOVED!!!
looks like another load for the scrap yard... maybe the trailer can be repaired and put back into use but the truck is headed to scrap.
Not necessarily...
thank you. big like
WHERE'S JAMIE DAVIS AND THE ROTATOR AT LOL
wheres ron pratt when you need him?
How in the hell did he do that
The dog was driving
He jumped in the bunk and let the ELD drive.
Ok so why did they just use two Rotators? Two Century 1075 75 Ton Rotators would have been able to do the job easily two smaller Rotators could have done that job easily.
Big bucks for that tow, I wonder if it was over $1,000 Dollars?
wow, everbody else sure knows how to do it?
Well for one thing its Way to small to pull that truck im surprised they sent that wrecker out
"The cab was later removed from the water." No shit, you think they are going to send all that equipment home and leave the truck in the water?
I was gonna say, thats a bit much for that wrecker to handle.
Took a long time. Should have used a crane to lift the whole thing out, without the tow truck, it was just in the way.
I bet that cost a small fortune to remove from the water. Luckily no one was hurt and its just money.
What about the awesome Peterbilt. That was the best part.
I was half expecting to see Mr. Bill from SNL. Oh Nooooo...
😎😐
Gay movie
There doing this all wrong, they'd been further ahead to drain the lake and just drive the thing out.
Engine would have been full of water and need a complete cleaning
Man ,it's like I can hear your thoughts..I was thinking the same thing. What are those dumbasses doing?
larrynorman1919 - or wait until summer
I'll bet the dog was driving and they switched seats after.
No barriers .ONLY IN AMERICA
I would not want to be the guy hooking that truck up BRRRRRRRRRR !
Call Jamie Davis!
700 bags of rock salt......put the truck in reverse and you're done. Simple ! ! !
looks brand new haha. its clean
I’d never put a semi in a frozen anything 😂😂😂
Awesome job
well that is one way to refrigerate your load
A better solution is to not drive trucks into frozen lakes.
nice video my friend
Never speed the clips up that fast. To me that is the same as fast forward.
I'm sure most of us don't want to sit here and watch a 45 minute + recovery video.
wtf did the driver do, fall aslep behind the wheel? 10 grand+ bill right there
+azim Try 50 grand.
holy shittt
Probably icy, that stretch of Hwy 140 along the lake is famous for it. And/or he was going to fast.
@@Oktow Haha 50 grand nobodys gonna pay 50 grand for that maybe your piece of shit company would try and charge that
no wounded my package was water logged back then!!!
take the duck boat and pull lock on king pin, fun.
Must've been a refrigerated truck.😱
This wrecker operator has no clue what the hell he is doing lol.
Next on "Ice Road Truckers: Global Warming"
I really don't think he can park there!!!
Wouldve been easier to drain the lake.
If you know Klamath Lake, that would be the same as flushing the toilet.
Russian way will be better:)
How to pull out car from a frozen lake. Russian style
the russian way.... so simple... got to love it huh:p
Ice road trucking.
Just a tip: Don't put it in a frozen lake in the first place.
Refrigerator unit
the lack of any safety gear....PFD's, just shows the lack of any professionalism. Yup, lets risk the workers and hope it turns out attitude!
I've heard of a truckwash but this is just ridiculous guys bluebeacon is a simpler faster way lol
Great job, wipe it off and it'll drive away
For being stupid, i would have let the truck stay there until spring
I thing that dude is going to in trouble & I would fire the fool
Que chulada como trabajan los grulleros. Aqui en mexico lis grulleros. Ya hubieran destasado esa caja. Aqui les vale madre como rescaten un vehiculo lo asen garras cobran mucho por aser sus pendejadas
