@Mew Mew Yes. Modern pleating methods can’t do custom pleating designs, though. It may take a long time and have limited production, but no modern technique can produce dragon scale pleats like the one Daenerys wore in Game of Thrones, or for high fashion design. Specialist pleating can. Film, theatre, TV and even advertisers and presenters use these unique, custom designs. More importantly, it’s a part of textile history. That is why hand pleating still exists, and it’s why it should continue to be an art form carried on through generations.
@@sevenandthelittlestmew Very nicely explained. We can't pleat fabric in any of the intricate styles without using this technique, but there are machines that will pleat the straight knife and accordion pleats and are much quicker.
