Yes, both planespotting and being a passenger was better back in the day. Service mattered. Today, airlines don't offer good service unless you are in first/ business class. TWA, and PanAm were two great airlines .

He said he saw someone at that position but it didn’t look like SWA. I asked if the aircraft looked like a whale and he excitedly said YES! I got to say “follow Shamu, cleared visual approach 24R.” One of the highlights of my career!
This was back when Airlines were passionate about being Airlines. The business side still remains the same as what was sought before, but the social dynamic really ruined what businesses used to be like. In this video, you really do get a sense of what cutthroat, competitive business looked and felt like. It felt real and unmasked, quality meant quality.

They old existed for like 48 months before they ceased operations. they started sometime in 1999, but by the time this video was filmed, they must have been in horrible finical shape. National airlines filed for chapter 11 protection in December of 2000. On their old website, they state that the rising price of jet fuel was killing their company. 9/11 was the finial blow they could take. Stopping all flights on November 6, 2002. The only reason why I knew this airline existed was because it was very briefly shown in an episode of Mythbusters.

Had an unfortunate and huge affect on aviation all over the world, especially USA and even here in Oz (not huge in Oz, but still played a role in affecting the industry).
I remember when my mom and I got stucked at LAX back in the summer of 2001. Our SFO flight was delayed due to bad weather condictions. We just flew to OAK instead of that. I was eighteen years old. We went to the national conference for the Autism Society of America in San Diego.
Were these shot in widescreen, or in 4:3? If they were in 4:3, I personally would think they would look best in their original aspect ratio. This video comes across as kind of blown up and pixelated. Also, if you have the hardware/software to upconvert them, I think people would be more likely to purchase new download copies. Thank you for your consideration!
The downloads are in their original full screen format... only on you tube are they in widescreen format... We dedicate our time producing the new programs, the old ones are offered as downloads in their original format, unfortunately at this point we don't have the time to convert them...
It's a 757 from America West Airlines, they are based in Phoenix, Arizona and the color scheme is promoting the Phoenix Suns (the basketball team in Phoenix). If you look closely you can see "Phoenix Suns" written on the side of the aircraft.

Yeah, sometimes marketing people can’t leave ‘great’ alone. The current livery (2021) is plain and sucks by comparison.
