Hi Mark. For the last 2 years I've left fuel management to the VFE but now want to learn how to do it myself. Your video is excellent and a great learning tutorial. The sheer number of switches do make it quite daunting but with anything complex make notes and repeat things until it starts to sink in. Thanks once again! :-)
I'd just like to say a big thank you for making this video. It rekindled my big love for the Concorde, and I'm now flying her without any VE. It makes the whole experience much more enjoyable. Again, thank you so much! Love from Norway
Am getting back into a vConcorde because a neat sim has been released for MS2020. I had basic understanding of the FE panel and CG management back circa FS2000--this presentation will be the refresher I need...
The DC Designs Concorde uses a simplified version of the fuel transfer system. It operates quite differently from the FSL version that this video is based on. Still works but if you follow this video you will likely not get the results you expect.
Hello! Thank you so much for so helpful and detailed tutorial! You did really fantastic work! I watched it two times making conspectus at my notebook. After that I flew my first flight managing fuel by myself and it was great flight which I enjoyed the most! Everything was absolutely correct due to your tutorial. And now I came to understanding what is going with fuel during a flight and how to manage everything in the correct way!
Absolutely Fantastic!! Thank you. Can you please also post one for the INS system. I am very new to this and your explanations are great and I have learned a lot from your instructional videos. I am trying to learn the INS efficiently and I am sure I would learn a lot if you posted one video on that. Thanks again for posting!
The new FSLabs Concorde may be somewhat different that the FSX version. This may be due to a more detailed simulation and better understanding of real world procedures. This will help but needs to be used with caution.
As a fellow Concorde pilot I applaud your video! Just one thing, I do mainly use the VFE for fuel management and I am day-by-day unpicking the features on the options menu, but on this video before taxi your CG was too far FWD and you needed to correct it by bringing the fuel back AFT to 53.5%. What if however your CG to begin with is too far AFT such as 54.4% and you need to move it FWD to 53.5% then what would you do?
very instructive. I'll use your instructions for my further flights. One thing though, when you make the Barbados flight, the tanks are so empty at the end that it is impossible to put 4000 kgs into tank 9.
If you wanted to transfer fuel from tanks 8 to 5 during chapter 5: 39:31 couldn't you just switch on the interconnect value between 8 and 5? I am just confused why the fuel needed to be pumped in from 8 to 3 to 11 then to 5. Is it not possible to use the interconnect valve to transfer between 8 and 5?
I don't use FSX or P3D v3 anymore and not flying Concorde for many years. So I have no idea how all of this works in detail anymore. The best thing to do is post a message on the P3D forum on Avsim. I am sure Ray will answer, he is the Concorde expert these days.
Its part of the Flight Sim Labs Concorde X documentation. It also would not work the same way on the DC Designs Concorde as they have not modelled the fuel tanks the same way.
Where can I get a copy of the document that lists how to transfer fuel from anyone tank to another tank? e.g. (i know this is probably wrong just an example) Transfer from Tank 7 to 5: 1. Close tank 9,10 and 11 inlets 2. Turn on tank 7 left pump 3. Turn on tank 3 jettison 4. Open tank 5 standby inlet valve. There was a nice document 'Tank Locations and Transfer Guide" shown in the video at 14:32
Is deair really needed on low altitudes? I was always thinking fuel boiling is only possible on very high altitudes because of low pressure. And when i turn on those pumps to act as deair those pumps will transfer the fuel to collector tanks or only act as deair and not transfer the fuel?
Excelent video, it may be weird why you're not a real life pilot, hope to make a shared cockpit flight with you some day, could be interesting, at the moment i'am learning all the fuel panel stuff with your tutorial, also i've seen already you're first video from the whole JFK-LHR flight, everything was great just for the landing, i think it was a little bit hard but i think it's ok.. cheers from venezuela
What a great video again! As always ! Thank you so much! May I ask wich checklist you use? Can you send me a link maybe... I begun writting all Down in Word or by Hand, just to have the important steps. All checklist I found, that had the FE items in it, had so much Test items (Not that it is Bad, but please not everytime...) and where so weird written ... ans sugesstion would be appreciated ! Thank you for that great video !
@@UPS1000 hm one more thing, i just got everything ... printed out the checklist, Managed everything, until mach 2, everything ok, speed, INS worked, CG ok... Suddenly, the aircraft bsnked a bit to the right. The Autopilot reacted with a full ekevon deflection to the left, but nothing happend... is that a bug ? Because the plane keept banking to the right, i disconected tue AP but no deflection could be archived either to left or right turning (pitching worked fine) ... you have encountered such Situation anytimes ? I will Post my question to a Forum soon... just if you had it in your mind maybe ... I Think its worth a try asking:) Best wishes :)

Hi I have a Q 90,000 kg or approx 100 tons of fuel in those super slim wings how can that be posable?... Where is the APU position & jet outlet location? Chers
very good job, but I have some problems, I have seen your video twice a time and done all what you explain but I still run out of kero and cannot finish my flight. I wanted to make a flight from kmia to kmsp ( miami to minneapolis ) and use cps to load the plane but it comes that at one time during the flight i haven't enough kero to end it , could you help me please, thanks
First I would suggest you post this question on the Flight Sim Labs forums, there are lots of experts there to help you. If you can reach Mach 2.0 then its likely not a drag issue (nose not all the way up or some other problem). If you are not using the afterburners before Mach 0.96 or after Mach 1.7 then it is probably a fuel planning problem. Can you fly from EGLL to KJFK (or reverse) using the default load and fuel from the fuel loader that ships with ConcordeX ? You should be able to make it every time with the pre-programmed setup. Only other thing I can think of is your weather program...do you use one? It may cause some issues but normally not a problem with something like Activesky. Hope this helps a little.
I believe this is a glitch in the aircraft where the fuel is being sent inadvertently into the Vent gallery which is supposed to feed back into tank 3 but doesn't for some reason even today Ill land short 2k kgs from indicated fuel on board vs fuel burned.
Its just easier to track the outflow of 5 & 7 and when to switch over to tanks 7 & 8 if they are lined up together and in the same order on the panel. That is my guess anyway.
There is a very comprehensive chart in the Flight Sim Labs documents but that is a different addon and I am not sure the DC Design version would follow the mapping the same way.
You have to buy it from Flight Sim Labs. Personally I would wait to buy because ConcordeX is very prone to out of memory errors with FSX and now with Prepar3d version 4 being 64 bit and no memory limit I am hoping that FSLabs converts this aircraft to this new sim. If they do that this would be a much better investment.
***** Thanks :) I recently got into simming and had a wedge of cash to spare so bought all the big flight sims. Got a new rig on the way and will be finding out which I like best. What do you think of Xplane 10?
Mirandorl I can't comment on XP10 as I have never flown it. From what I have read and seen in videos (like Froogle) is seems pretty good, just not nearly as many addons as FSX.

Coul you make a tutorial on how to calculate the fuel needed for any trip with the concorde X?
No need for that, just download and install the Concorde Performance System program and it will do all the calculations for you. Just search for it.

Concorde did not have an APU....too much weight and space. Two engines were started at the gate on ground power, the other two after push.

Okay, I got why they put Tank 1 and 4 next to the other feed tanks on the panel, but why did they switch tank 7 and 8 on the panel?
